That's what I'm trying to get at here. Each time the squad get upset is when they have a manager known to be more of a task master or demands a high level of discipine than a lighter hearted one who will let more slide which hurts us more long term.
Mark me words, there is no way we are losing this game. It will be plain sailing. I don't think we are going to play that well, it's just Coventry are dogsh*t.
They almost got something against us at Fortress Vicarage Road, and they've only lost 3 games at home in the league! Hard place to go that Trillion Trophy Stadium, a tame 1-0 defeat for me Clive
Hopefully this new system Xisco refers to sees him move to a 4-3-3. Bachmann Femenia / Ngakia - Wilmot - Sierralta - Masina Cleverley - Chalobah - Hughes Sarr - Pedro - Sema / Zinc
No he didn't. He just got in the way of an own goal. I'm not sure if the ball actually brushed his leg on the way in anyway. Even that's up for debate.
oh, I totally agree with that. If you see someone slice the ball into his own net, being the closest striker to it, you're always going to claim a cheap goal. I'd do exactly the same
Last season we needed a team of fighters to dig us out of the hole we were in. The rapid turnover of head coaches allied to the "stepping stone" pitch made to encourage players to sign, resulted in a squad full of uncommitted posers, who were totally unsuited to the task. So it could be said last season was the culmination of the previous seasons' actions.
---------------Bachmann Femenia - Wilmot/WTE - Sierralta - Masina ------------------ Hughes Zinkernagel ---- Deeney ----- Sema ------------Sarr ----- Pedro Deeney to provide outlet and linking play, front 4 pressing, cutting inside, interchanging. Hughes distributing from the back. While I'd prefer Hughes, Chalboah or Cleverley could play that deep lying role. Subs: GK Cathcart/Wilmot Navarro/Ngakia Gosling Cleverley Chalobah Gray/Dalby/Any forward who can fog a mirror
The team seems to have gotten some form of superiority complex 3 years ago. We can't say they're over confident as we see what we see every week but it's almost like the core of players decided they were a very good team and would just go through the motions a-la ManU man city each week - and things will just play out nicely. When it stopped happening they lost their way but never stopped doubting just how great they really were. The repeated waffling by squad players over recent years that they were working hard etc, never got challenged until Pearson came along, and we know what happened there. Until our individual players each realise their shortcomings they will continue to struggle, and I'm not sure GP knows how to change things....
Perica and Success back in training. Gosling not fit. Kiko and Masina to be assessed closer to the game.
Clear out the older players. Bring in an experienced older player who is a proven example and better still two of them and filter young players into the side. Problem is removing the older players with attitude issues is a bit difficult at the moment.
This is very much Watford’s current MO. Spin a story we can all see is negative into somehow being positive. In realistic terms this means Gosling is unavailable for at least 2 weeks, Perica will be available in 3 weeks as long as no setback, Success will be a month or two yet. Femenia and Masina were held back as two players they could sell for money so were held back on deadline day - but will be expected to put the disappointment of not moving behind them. Tell me I’m wrong...
Haha. His knees are ****ed - when I tweeted he was joining the other day, I asked about his injury; in short he won’t supposedly be available to play regularly, and that there’s politics behind his contract length
Success was "back in training" on December 18th. Our new signing isn't fit, what a surprise. We're a joke club.
Yeah I couldn't be bothered to even look at the reports for him. I've written him off as another professional footballer completely incapable of being fit for a run of games whilst at Watford.
Just hoping munos starts looking for the right player for each position in his formation, rather than the insanity of the last game. I still think we lost the game by having a RB and RM playing down our left... Some common sense in selection please.!
It's a shame he's not fit as it's denying us the chance to see just how lightweight and out of his depth he is in the championship.
Don't tell me, if he plays more than 5 games it becomes a 10 year contract and he gets the Head Coach role?
I have a crazy idea. Now, stay with me because this is somewhat out there, but I think we should play an attacking team and try to actively win the game. I know that sounds mental, but it could actually work. #ImagineIf: ---------------------- Bachmann ------------------------- Ngakia - Sierralta - Troost-Ekong - Femenia ----------------- Cleverley - Hughes ------------------ ------------ Sarr - Zinckernagel - Sema ------------ --------------------------- Pedro ---------------------------- A team that features our best players, in their best positions, with a decent amount of pace, directness and attacking quality. Or we could just continue to shoehorn the fat slob and his best mate calamity Andre into a 4-4-2 with central midfielders on the wing. Either or.
