Illness After Astra Zeneca Vaccine ?

Quite a few of my comrade carers have now had their vaccine jab, as have a good proportion of my oldies.

A large proportion, especially 3 of the carers who had it, have been quite ill after having the 'Oxford' Astra Zenica jab. They've been bad for 2 or 3 days after. Swimming head, temperature, tiredness, heavy arm, even coughing.

The oldies, who seem to have mainly had the Pfizer jab, have all suffered no ill effects though.

Anybody else heard anything like this? I've now been offered a vaccine (don't know which one) by my dear employer, but have told them to put it on hold for a week. 1) I don't want to be ill for three days and can't afford to be off sick (no sick pay) 2) I wonder about its effectiveness against the variants. More news to come soon? 3) The second dose you're supposed to have in 3 weeks won't be given until 12 - against scientific advice.

My wife had the AZ jab on Saturday morning, she was unwell the next day with a high temperature and aching legs, but on Monday she was much better apart from feeling a little sore around the injection site.

The mother in law is fine, but won’t stop cracking on about Microsoft products. Funny thing is she doesn’t even have a computer.

Phil Hammond (Private Eye' MD) has said much the same about the AZ.

My wife just got the Moderna vaccine and she's been feeling a bit rough. Headache, fatigue, sore arm. Not too dissimilar to some flu vaccination reactions, really.

Would be interesting to see a report on percentages affected but I wouldn't be holding off on any chance I get for the jab.

My folks had the sub zero vaccine and there's a huge list of possible side affects. My dad - fairly frail with Parkinsons no problems, my mum fit as anything sore achey arm and a bit tired for a day or so.

My mum got the AZ jab and had no side effects at all.

My dad and sister have had the Pfizer jab and also had no side effects.

It can happen with the flu jab anyway, can’t it?

My dad has also just today had the AZ and my mum is due 31st so will report back as well.

She swallowed a fly. I don’t know why she swallowed a fly, but her cat is looking nervous.

    1. There's more evidence that supports taking the Oxford jab after 12 weeks than the Pfizer.

    2. Apparently the vaccine has more short-term side effects if you've already had Covid. I'm not sure if that explains why your carer friends seem to have disproportionately worse side effects.

Yes it can. My daughter had a flu vaccine (nasal) at school a few months ago. We were warned it could make her a bit grotty for a few days and it really did knock her sideways for a couple of days.

The symptoms people are describing: tiredness, headache, aching, temperature etc etc are a result of your bodies immune system working and the reaction it has and cytokines and other processes that happen when this occurs. Whilst unpleasant they are a sign your immune system is working and they are usually self limiting.

To be clear no one is being infected by the vaccine

interstingly when you get these same symptoms when you have an actual
Infection again they are largely attributable to cytokines and other good immune responses rather than the infectious agent itself

    I had Pfizer this afternoon.
I had Covid 5 months ago.

no side effects so far but I expect later to have a temperature, aching and probably some gastrointestinal symptom if I know my body. I’ll take that over me or a family member, colleague or friend being one of the bodies in the several refrigerated cargo carriers being used as an overspill to the morgue which I passed on my way into the hospital. And even thankful we live in an age where we can produce a vaccine within about a year to a novel pathogen

PS for anyone labouring under the bizarre belief the vaccine has a microchip in it the vaccine is drawn up from a vial containing around 8-10 doses. I’ve seen the vials and examined them they contain a clear liquid. Please explain how this provides exactly 8-10 microchips, how these microchips are powered, how this is the best way to get microchips into people, how that makes people trackable given they must be microscopic and a reason for wanting to track people when we all have smart phones that listen to us and track our movement and we freely place personal data online all the time. Also how have we managed to keep millions of people in the supply line to produce the vaccine quiet about this?

And PPS it is a very real illness. It kills people. I can attest to that personally. I have colleagues regularly breaking down in tears watching people die.

We ran out of body bags in April last year, I had managers phoning around the country trying to source some more.

You don’t have to have the vaccine but if you don’t you are an idiot.

If you want to have a specific manufacturer in terms of your vaccine - fine. But any specific hub will only have one type so it may be worth asking you won’t get a choice on the day.
You get what they have if you want it.
the data on relative amounts of side effects of each is patchy at best and largely currently based on hearsay.
what we can say is they are OVERWHELMINGLY safe and are are very effective when compared with vaccines for other illnesses

Apparently the Oxford jab is a 'watered down virus' that gives the common cold to chimpanzees, and that is effective against Covid to humans.
The Pfizer one is the genetic code of the virus rather than the virus itself.
I am not surprised by some side effects showing up for the Oxford one.

If anyone actually believes there is a microchip in the vaccine then why explain? They're way beyond help.

We've heard a lot of these scare stories, but none talking up the possibilities of using the vaccine to microchip everyone. Many people suffer poor motivation now and then, whereas Bill Gates is a consistent go-getter.

Feeling blue? A bit lacking in oomph? Let Bill take over for a while. Could work wonders for Andre Gray.

Take the anti-vaxxers on in this way and demand the technology is developed. The anti-vaxxers would be daft enough to consider it

Oxford is an attenuated virus vaccine. It doesn't cause infection in humans
Pfizer is innovative messenger RNA technology. In short, this technology teaches our cells how to produce a protein, which is what makes the immune system react.
Other Coronaviruses are one of the 5 main causative agents that casue the "common cold" which is actually caused by multiple different viruses.

Both my wife and I had our first vaccine yesterday afternoon at the ground. They are using Pfizer. Our left arms are a little sore today but absolutely no other reaction to the vaccine. Looking forward to getting the second jab in April.

Booked in for mine tomorrow at 9.20, they said in the email it would be the AZ one.....can’t wait and if I get a sore arm and headache I really don’t care.
Someone today suggested to me that if somebody refuses the NHS one initially and then changes their mind they should have to pay to get it
