It wouldn't explain all the references to Benitez in Munoz' press conferences would it? It wouldn't explain why if we go up our coach can't manage in the Premier League? Would it...? https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/s...ez-leaves-chinese-club-dalian-mutual-consent/
Yeah, Rafa is just gonna sit on his arse for 6 months in case we go up, and take a pay cut to join a small Premier League team lol
If he goes anywhere in the UK it will be to Newcastle until the end of the season. And if the sale of Newcastle goes through he might stay. If they takeover does not happen he will have plenty of choice in the summer. Arsenal after Arteta gets sacked?
He’s fallen out massively with Mike Ashley - he won’t be going there whilst he’s still around. And Newcastle are hiring Graeme Jones at the request of Steve Bruce to join his backroom staff...not the sign that Bruce is about to be sacked. Strongest rumours are that Benitez is likely to replace Lennon at Celtic. Either way, close thread because he certainly ain’t turning up here. But it can’t hurt us having Xisco’s ‘mentor’ now residing in the same small island anyway.
Celtic would be a strange choice for Benitez, or any successful manager, in my view. Mr. Integrity used the position well to rehabilitate his reputation after Liverpool but he couldn’t wait to get back to the PL when the time was right. It seems the only attraction of Celtic is a guaranteed European campaign, but then they don’t have the resources to make a success of it. Then, on the down side, come second to Rangers and you’re branded a failure.
It’s the equivalent of players going to places like China for me, but minus the money so makes little sense unless you enjoy false adulation.
