Spurs have been heavily linked with signing this guy on a permanent deal, but given he might not get first-team minutes with them for a while he could be got on loan for the rest of the season even if Spurs do a deal in Jan: 19 year-old striker Kyle Joseph at Wigan.

5 goals and an assist in his last 6 starts, including a hat-trick below (Wigan's first 3 goals), despite playing for the 22nd placed team in League One. He seems quick and tenacious.

Sheffield Utd, Rangers and Celtic have also been linked with permanent moves, but there could be a chance we could nick in and offer him more chance of first-team football. He's originally from Chipping Barnet as well, so very local.

His contract is rumoured to expire this summer, that plus Wigan's financial predicament means he won't be too expensive, probably even below £500k. We could also perhaps sign him on a free via Udinese. Could be worth a punt.

That second goal is excellent. IF we had money well worth a transfer.

We have no money. We effectively have negative money. How would we pay for these new signings ? We will be in financial trouble as it is.

Tbf if you'd have told me in early December that we'd keep the same squad but add Zinckernagel, I'd have been pleasantly surprised, not that I'm exactly happy with the squad how it is now

I accepted this a while back based on the analysis of the accounts done by people that know a lot more about finances did. It means that any signing we do make will come as a pleasant surprise. Free transfer or loan cover in central midfield is the height of my hopes for the rest of window.

Yes I’d have liked to see a young CF from a premier league side come in for a 4 month loan given that is the position where we clearly have a weakness. However with TD, Gray, Success, Perica and even Murray, I guess they will conclude we have to make do if we can’t free up a salary.

Murray has been a disaster. No due diligence and it seems clear we don’t have a clause allowing us to terminate half way through. What little funds we have have been set on fire covering his wages.

Yes I can only assume that they expected TD to leave and he would replace him in the "lumbering old fella" role. Why did they sign before TD's departure was confirmed ? Maybe they were 90% certain and Murray would sign for someone else if they didn't act quickly? However as it is, it looks a very dumb move.

We lost our best CM though in Capoue.

    Such as who?

I haven't noticed any possibilities the couple of times I've had a look.

No idea. But surely the top 10 must all have decent young strikers in their reserves/youth set up who could benefit from 4 months leading the line in the championship ?

He certainly wasn't our best CM this season.

Actually, there is maybe one possibility now, was too young in the summer but seems to have been progressing well - Liam Delap at Man City.

He's still just 17, but scored against a fairly strong Bournemouth team at home in the Carabao Cup (goal at 50 secs in first vid below). Difficult to know if a loan is still too soon for him, but we should def be enquiring next season if the current one isn't possible.

Spot on. We all knew he is and was if his heart was in it. Sadly it wasn't and he didn't want to be here.

I get what you're saying, but our CMs have been so average/poor this season that even when Capoue didn't care he was usually better than the others.

Well hopefully Hughes is over his injuries and cements a spot in the team. But Nate has impressed me since Xisco has arrived. Can be to casual at times but imo has shown a remarkable upturn in performances.

    Joel Randall at Exeter...

Don't profess to know anything about him - but read this article earlier and he's certainly being talked up as a very good prospect who would be available for £1m or less. Grimes, Watkins and Amapadu have all come through Exeter and quite a few suggestions he can emulate their level of ability, if not more.

Does seem like our promotion 'rivals' (being generous to us here, of course) are finally starting to get some business done this week. Swansea closing in Conor Hourihane and Jordan Morris (a 26 year-old American international forward who has been doing very well in the MLS), rounding out their squad very well. Norwich just confirmed the arrival of Giannoulis. Will be interesting to see if the market starts to pick up more broadly over the next two weeks. Bournemouth signing Wilshere (although that deal is obviously riskier than some of those others mentioned).

West Ham seem to be becoming increasingly interested in making the Dawson deal permanent (they have an option to do so). It would be helpful if they could do it now so we get some extra financial wiggle room (whether that's used to just create some breathing space or for wages/a transfer fee). If they want to bring in a domestic loan, it might be in their interest to activate that option now, too.

He's played all his games for Exeter this season as a left-winger - it's not really a position we have much room or need for?!

Well if they were supposedly looking at Watters in league 2 I'm sure he's been looked at too. The kid is definitely getting a name for himself. If they can find some money from somewhere we could always leave him on loan there to gather more minutes.

As I've recently expounded at length on here, I have watched a great deal of MLS over the past 6 years - I would be fairly shocked if Jordan Morris manages to make any significant impact in England, particularly in this season.

Interesting. I hope you're right. Read a couple of articles suggesting that some Bundesliga teams had been interested in him, suggesting he has some quality.

He seems much more to me like a Yedlin than a Dempsey - he's such an 'American' player; big and quick and running constantly. But that's about it, and he never seemed like someone who would work out outside MLS, and indeed outside one of the relatively few dynasty-style teams who manage to be consistently up there and challenging, boasting a very gifted squad at that level.

There is of course always the chance that I'm completely wrong, but I suppose we'll see, eh.

Verona are close to signing a new reinforcement for the attack as the negotiations with Udinese overKevina Lasagna, 28, are in an advanced stage.

The clubs are closing in on an agreement for the transfer of the striker, who was also in the radar of Benevento, for a fee of €9.5 million plus an additional million in add-ons, should Juric's squad qualify for the Europa League next season. The player will sign a four and a half-year contract with his new club, with a salary of one million euros per season after taxes.

The parties are now discussing on the minute details of the agreement, with the player waiting for the final greenlight before he can take a medical and become a new Verona player.
