Not a classic but we can take the points. Gray had his best game since the Spuds friendly win, still woeful as a finisher. Great penalty from big man. We just about shaded it against a Barnsley side who definitely came here for a point. Our lack of finishing remains a big problem, although if we can give Pedro and Zinc a run of games we could see more chances taken. I totally get the rotation though, as we play more northern cloggers Friday night. We had to win these last two coming off the back of Swansea and we just about managed it. Nice win for Derby Stoke drew, some decent results. Our next two games are away, one of which is our game in hand. Rotation again probably incoming.
If gray was on side when he scored, he would of put it over the bar. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I seem to have got under your skin with my point of view on our creativity or lack of. Sorry about that. Don't go worrying about what I say though - go and enjoy the win tonight.
Important 3 points. Deeney, Serialta, Kiko and Sarr all impressive. Gray so so poor wasteful and constantly offside.
Agreed, and he also showed some excellent pass-and-move instincts, finding great pockets of space after moving the ball. He's very positive and seems to always be driving forward, something we've been sorely lacking.
Good start by Xisco, but he needs to improve our away form considerably if we're going to finish top two. The next two games are massive.
I might get a bit of abuse for this, but I still hold a dwindling hope that Gray will contribute something excellent this season. Sierra fella getting better every game. Subs highlight we do have strength in depth. I've been critical of Sarr, but love that he was trying to fight the Barnsley team in stoppage time. If he can hold his own on that front he'll run away with the league. Oh - a goal AND an assist from Troy.
What was most pleasing is we were up for the fight in a typical tough championship game The best we've seen of Zink I'm in such a good mood after watching that I'm not even going to start on Gray
nope happy to eat humble pie on that one. How he’s never been picked consistently for other teams (or us) is a mystery.
The Championship really is a load of cat. Hard working teams slogging away and matches with plenty of effort with scatterings of luck and perhaps a tiny flash of quality usually the only difference in games. I don't care how we get out of the league as long as we do. As someone pointed out earlier, 13 of Norwich's 15 wins have been by a single goal. Couldn't care less if its a JP screamer or a deflection of Troys barse so long as they go in at their end of we keep it out of ours. At least 4 points from the next 2 away games should be the aim. Good to see Hughes and Masina start again. We're a better and more balanced side with them in it. Another clean sheet for Bachmann, Kiko continuing his good form and Sierralta yet to put a foot wrong. B'mouth lost. Stoke drew. Swansea have another game to add to their pile up in a few weeks. We move.
The front 3 looked lively at times I thought. Lacked the cutting edge to kill the game off with the 2nd goal that's all. 3 more points, on to Friday
Gray just isn't good enough. Previously he has still managed to shin the odd goal in but there is no recovering where it is at now. He isn't good enough and he also looks totally shot of confidence. Mix that with the cackling excitement of some fans every time he touches the ball almost willing him to make a mess of it and it is an absolute cacophony of turd that he won't ever get out of. Best he moves on for everyone's sake, even if we continue to pay a large % of his wages for now.
In our past two games the opposition have had one shot on target which was a soft shot from 40 yards against Huddersfield. Tonight wasn't like watching Brazil but we got the job done and we looked solid, with a forward that isn't Gray we probably would have won that 3-0. Good 3 points considering the Bournemouth score. Sema was much better today which is a big positive. Sarr was also a bit more direct which was very encouraging to see because when he decides he wants to play he is a cut above the rest of the division. I am buzzing that Hughes got 90 minutes and he had a good game, he is a Premier League midfielder all day and will be very important for us. Additionally it was good to see JP was the first one to back Sarr up at the end considering they had been arguing with eachother on Saturday.
That will be the problem going into the second half of the season, really need to start burying earlier chances because most teams will start coming to the vic looking for a point, thought we had more than enough opportunities to get a second tonight.
Must be some technologically advanced mixing - are we being secretly mic'ed up and beamed into his ears on-pitch via some techno-wizardry or something then?
Agreed - next 2 will show us whether the autos are still within reach Our home form looks like it will almost single handedly carry us into a play off position. If we can start getting some points away as well then the sky really is the limit in this trash league
Great win. Predictable. Plenty of chances in open play, none converted. Good to see a bit of passion, and character - we are slowly getting our mojo back - and that is what we've been missing. ...and who keeps saying Pedro is a lightweight?
Very true, this team are a way off the fluid attacking, charisma of that 14/15 team. However, plenty of teams have been promoted being solid , workmanlike with enough moments of quality from their top players . If we do get promoted this year , it’s clear we ll be the latter rather than the former .
Another ****, directionless performance, papered over by a lucky penalty. How long can we get away with these home games, player like smash and grab away games, whilst completely flopping on the road? Zinkerbagel looks good. Should start. Sierrelta too.
Definitely one of the better performances this season, a step in the right direction despite the pessimism at 6:45. Even Deeney was quite good...as for Gray, well, typical of him, bright, but the final product spectacularly lacking. Zinckernagel bright again off the bench, hoping we'll see him at the weekend, but for who I wonder?
The only save Bachmann has had to make in 2 games was against a sublime diving header from Sierra Alta. Ironically, HigherGround has become our best CB , at least on form .
Apart from missing 3 chances to to score, that was another of the least sh1t performances I’ve seen from Gray .
Did the same at Huddersfield away. Got himself in good positions (some of them from his own good work) but just can't finish his dinner at the moment.
I would love to see him come into form (who wouldn’t want one of our strikers to get some) , he must have had some at some point. He probably had 6 good chances today (including the over the tops) , if couldn’t get one today not sure when he is going to get that many chances on a plate again. I’m guessing we are trying our best to give him time , the problem is we just can’t keep giving him another chance. was surprise Deeney went off for JP rather than Gray
