Though you have to love dropping Man Utd into the conversational mix when they've been protesting their owners ever since they were bought. Which included league wins, Champions League wins and World record transfers.

Guess they are just a bunch of bedwetters.

It's been the 2nd best 8 year period in Watford's history you fool. That is 'success' for a club with our history.

Football fans are very stupid and fickle, I know for a fact there were angry Man Utd fans in 2006 after 3 seasons of no titles or getting beyond the CL last 16. Gary Neville brings this era up regularly.

All of those clubs are far more successful than us. What ludicrous comparisons.

Well it was only a few months ago they wanted the current manager sacked...

Now a win tomorrow and Man U will be 6 points clear at the top of the league.

Things can change quickly I guess.

Lety's hope Gray and Deeney if selected can prove that...

Ah, 'you know for a fact'. I'm convinced!
Well, I can certainly think of one who fits that bill.

What are you expectations for the club then? What should Watford's minimum standard be? I'm really really interested to hear this.

I think you should be even more really really interested to learn the distinction between 'success' and 'failure', and how that relates to a club's goals and performance season-on-season.

You can't answer my question can you? What should Watford be achieving?

You and many others seem to be suggesting that the current board are a problem and holding this club back.

We will be able to get work permits for players who have played top flight football for a few seasons, Udinese have plenty of those.

Yes, because it's oh-so difficult to answer; you've tied us up in rhetorical knots, you genius!

If you can't see a trend forming very clearly and over a prolonged period of time in front of your eyes, nor recognise the potential consequences, that's your problem, not anyone else's.

It is most likely we would have continued to be a championship club with fluctuating form. At times flirting with the playoffs and relegation. We may have gone down . Or maybe gone up , but would almost certainly have not survived more than one season in the premier league and it would probably have been utterly miserable to watch .

The Pozzos have given us some amazing memories , which we would most likely have never had .

So listen to some things they say and believe in them but ignore other things that don't fit your argument.

Quite laughable how flimsy your argument is.

I've probably read everything they've put out over the past 9 years. It's great they are ambitious, but it is very difficult to turn that into a reality without being able to spend billions. A small club is always in danger of remaining a small club unless everything goes to perfection.

It won't cover it. Not to mention we'll still be paying Gray, Cathcart, Dawson, Deeney (?), Cleverly and will need to fund a team of replacements. I do like your blind faith though.

Not having unsustainable levels of external debt would be good. Anything after that is a bonus.

I doubt we would be mirroring any of those sides. I am sure we would probably be a lower mid table championship club. We haven't been out of the top two divisions in English football since the mid 90s. We always struggled financially but did okay on the pitch.

Don't necessarily think we'd have been on the brink or anything, but we might have dropped into League 1 and become a Rotherham or Barnsley type team

In all seriousness that poll was a total wind up. My only point really is we would be close to where we are and where we've been under the Pozzo's than without them.

You middle-aged divorced men are very easy to wind up.

Disagree we have had about 10 years in the top division since Oxford graced it and only spent one season out of the top two divisions in the last 39 years, our crowds out of the PL were three times their average.

Forest, Portsmouth, Wigan amongst others have won major honours but I’m sure would be happy to swap with us!
