Luton lose and Bournemouth held ..

    Not a bad evening .

    Funny reading the comments .

Either the ref was rubbish as he gave no fouls or was poor as he gave in to the diving .

You can probably guess which sets of fans said either .

One of Lutons best performers this season was recalled by Sheff Utd earlier today which will be a huge blow to them.

I see Charlie Austin scored for QPR. He is exactly what we could have done with

No we already have 3 proven goalscorers at this level in the squad. No need for a fourth - we've got to give the other teams a chance.

It was the Charlie Austin show from the reports I saw.

Yeah, went straight to Stoke on loan so Luton fans must be annoyed.

Yeah, he's pretty good so a huge blow for Luton! Rumours are he's signing for Stoke on a permanent transfer.

    Bigger contract etc .

He scored as many open play goals in his first match as Deeney has scored for us this season.

That counts for Gray, too (and, of course, Gray's was the hilarious rebound bobble against Coventry he barely had an idea about).

Austin`s impact for R`s shows, that there must be guite a few teams, who are just one decent goalscorer away of being a succesful side. I also believe that those players are nor easy to find. Even expensive players are not the answer. Or those with high salary. If only...

Just a loan. Confirmed this morning.

Odd move then (unless it contains a buy in the summer clause) as he was getting plenty of game time and doing well with Luton!

Nothing odd about it. Stoke is a slightly better place to hang your hat lol

Stoke, PNE and Blackburn still to be doing some decent business. Can't remember who said watch Stoke this season but they will come very close now.

Think @nornironhorn tipped them thanks to their manager. Fancy them for a play-off place over Reading

They were already pretty close - particularly to us; just 2 points away as it stands.

Maybe a cheeky bid for Tom Lawrence too

Agreed. Suggested him on the suggestions thread yesterday. He is the most suitable Capoue replacement that could be available for £5m or less (maybe considerably less if they’re days from administration)

Stoke and PNE, yes. Blackburn seem to be on the verge of signing Branthwaite but haven't seen anyone else; don't think that's a better transfer window than us signing Zinckernagel. Norwich supposedly v interested in bringing in Giannoulis with whom we were heavily linked over the summer - that would be a great signing for them.
Most of the championship, however, are struggling to bring in new players who improve their first team. Swansea lost Gibbs-White which is a big blow for them.

That definitely won't be ideal for them, will be some serious fixture pile up. We're out of the cup, let's hope we can spread our games out and keep our players as fit as possible. Could be decisive.

We need to avoid COVID postponements like the plague.

Apologies I thought they had picked up both Pickering and Branthwaite.

Yes the Greek player looks the business but reading here in Norway they were also interested in Glimts left back Fredrik André Bjørkan. I believe he is nailed on to be the future international left back. Now Ståle Solbakken has been installed as the new international manager I believe he will look deeper into the Eliteserien while selecting the squads. I'm sure the Glimt fans on here will give their opinion on him. Very attacking, decent cross and has notched up a few goals. Big interest in him from Sampadoria and Olympiacos. I know the Greeks failed to get him for a bid of around €1m. But then again the way Glimt were playing any of their players would improve us.

Would be a smart pickup. Doubt he'd get a work permit though until he makes his Norway debut.

As @lowerrous has said I believe about Junker a switch to Udinese could sort that out maybe. He's played at U21 so I don't know if that makes a difference.

Michael O'Neill is turning around the sinking ship at Stoke. Getting rid of the deadwood, those on expensive contracts and bringing in younger players who have ability and a point to prove. Jack Clarke has joined them. Meanwhile we continue to muddle along with Gino's Gamble.

Quite a few of Derbys academy prospects suddenly being linked with moves away which would be a terrible idea imo. If you're in a dangerous financial position, those academy prospects will become vital as a cheap option to fill in if the first team ends up having a fire-sale. Without that back-up Derby will be ****ed long-term if they need a re-build, although I guess it could help alleviate some short term worries, but short-sightedness in football is never a clever strategy
