They’ll go down one of these years, as most teams do in the end, but this season it looks like two places are already booked for Sheffield U and West Brom (despite BFS). I’d be surprised if Palace manage to finish below everyone else.

 

Yeah to even get 36 points Sheffield Utd now need 1.5 ppg, so they need to win every other game for the rest of the season. WBA will struggle BFS or otherwise. This is not the season for Palace to go down, I could only really see Brighton getting dragged into it but I reckon they’ll be the same as last season and always keep themselves a few points ahead. Fulham have looked pretty decent recently, could see them maybe bettering Brighton but not Burnley. Leeds get loads of plaudits but ultimately are below Arsenal who are having the worst season since the seventies.

 

Still think Sheffield United have enough about them. Their fans who are complaining should be careful what they wish for, they were League One not so long ago. Plenty of games left. Make a judgement after 38 games.

VAR has beaten a few teams on behalf of Manure . Brighton players had a shower , sprayed on the Brut,
only to be dragged back out so Man Utd could take their customary penalty after the final whistle as I remember !!

I caught the highlights as I got in, cold on court despite my WFC wooly hat ( amongst numerous other garments!)
Dreadful penalty,I dislike that pause players do,poor from Kasper I thought for the Palace goal and Perez should have scored at the death.
However this is exactly the sort of game that Palace always get something.
Absolutely no way they will be relegated.
I'll eat my hat if they do.

Watched the Chelsea vs Villa game yesterday, why is a player with the talent of Grealish such a diving ****? It took all of the enjoyment out of the game seeing him throw himself to the floor in every challenge. The Villa goal came as a result of him throwing his leg out to try and get a foul, causing the injury to the Chelsea player, who was them missing from the box when the ball came in.

I had heard he was playing much better this season, but his desire to fall over all the time and throw his leg out to con the ref takes away from any good skill he shows.

 

Unfortunately this is the inevitable result of how the game is now refereed. At the time the first overseas players came into our leagues flinging yourself to the ground was ridiculed, but over time it has become the norm for all players to do it to some extent or risk not getting penalties. However, I do agree that some more ‘flamboyant’ players like Grealish take it to the level of an art form.

Just seen the Man Utd penalty against Villa I can see why the ref gave it but the fact it went to VAR and they gave it is crazy.

Luiz has his arm on Pogba, but Pogba takes the fall with no contact and buys the penalty. VAR’s purpose is to rid the game of this type of deception.

 

I think Sheff Utd would look poor in the Championship.
