Yes it’s a good point: we seem to actively regress players, either by poor coaching/ill suited playing style or poor loan management. For every player we improve, 5 fall away. Part of our rancid culture though as well where below average senior pros rule the roost.
Not necessarily a good job, but is very likely to be more competent than the others as a lone striker.
Yeah but shuffling turds doesn't bring a sweeter and more fragrant turd to the front. Success is a pile of ****. Just because we aren't smelling his brand of stench just at this minute, doesn't mean we should pine for it.
They literally just signed a winger in a team crying out for strengthening in defence, midfield and up front. They don't understand the priorities of the team over their need to get bargains they can sell later. Sure, make it a feature of player identification, by signing players with potential for profit, but make them players we actually need FFS.
Some of the replies to that tweet show the mentality of our cuck fans. They will never make players like Deeney or Foster rethink their attitudes because they will get rimmed every week by Stockholm Syndrome fans who are desperate to be lauded as the biggest cuck of all by their peers.
This is leadership?? Its a pi$$ take. Toxic moron undermining better players whilst claiming to lead. It's a case of the emperor's new clothes. Remember Mane feeling he had to talk to Deeney about how Sarr was being treated? Richarlison said publically Deeney's presence could be a problem for Joao Pedro. No chance of promotion with this snake oil salesman calling the shots.
Yeah, but they get piled on by the 'get behind the ladz' brigade. I went onto the Enjooooy the game Facebook group yesterday. Lots of 'Munoz deserves time's type ****. Why does he deserve time? Because he exists? Who the **** even is this ****?
Jesus christ, it's crass but 'cuck' really is the word - there's no other appropriate descriptor: Also worth noting how many of the comments are from ******* Swansea fans talking about how much they want to see it and claiming Foster 'kept us in the game', etc. Similar to when our players lose a knockout game feebly and the second the final whistle goes, start milling about the pitch, guffawing, chatting and dropping to their knees to suck off the opposition players who just embarrassed them whilst the fans are left to enjoy the friendly sight as they contemplate just why they spent 50-150 quid on their tickets to watch what just unfolded.
When asked about JPs move to Watford, Richarlison said Watford town is a good place for young people but that its difficult for strikers at watford cos of Deeney. Mane asked Deeney to look after Sarr when we played Liverpool. There must have been a reason for that. I doubt its something Mane would just randomly say. Also Capoue referred to Sarr feeling he wasnt treated well when he first joined the club in a video interview with Sarr.
Yet people expect me to, when given the opportunity cheer for these charlatans and boost their already gargantuan egos. This last 18 months has seen the most dislike able era of Watford players ever. There is still a nasty crust of them remaining. The Augean stables analogy is apt because our squad is horse ****.
If Deeney was a half decent leader our players would have played more consistently and closer to their best over the last 5 years and we would still be in the premier league. Instead we r left with this dogs dinner of a situation where we are burning huge amounts of cash on wages when we have no chance of automatic promotion or winning the play offs.
Deeney has to shoulder his share of the blame, certainly. Do you also question the lack of desire and professionalism of the rest of the squad as well if they are relying on Deeney to play better football?
Probably because Mane and Sarr play International football together and as Deeney is captain thought he would look after Sarr on the pitch etc? If anything he might have meant Sarr hadn't settled well but that is down to the club - not Troy to sort out isn't it? I've never heard Richarlison speak but if you say that is what he said fair enough. Sure you can find the quotes somewhere. He seemed happy enough here till Silva left. Again if you are saying he wasn't settling then that is down to the club or do you want Deeney to actually take control of player welfare.
I can attest to the Mane episode - it was in the pre-tunnel, sometime after the match I think and caught on Sky cameras - they made a big deal of it at the time. He literally just said something like 'look after my boy' though, in fairness - at the time, it seemed at least as likely that, knowing he was/is shy, he was asking Deeney to take a paternalistic role. Not that I don't think Deeney is something of a mafioso in the dressing room, but I'm not sure that event tells us anything about him or his new-player bullying ways.
And Richarlison said that Pedro might initially struggle to get into the first team as Deeney is captain and plays in his position. There's enough wrong at the club at the moment, I don't see why people have to make stuff up.
The constant churn of head coaches definitely plays a part as well. The improvement of Chalobah and Hughes was clear to see when Pearson came in for example but he was gone in a few months, replaced by someone else with a different vision and style of play. They're not getting any sort of consistency and stability and just end up regressing as players and losing their hunger.
A good leader motivates people to perform better and a bad leader causes them to perform worse. We've all seen it multiple times in our lives at work, in football etc. It's a fact not an opinion. This season we have seen the squad before and after Deeney's return. We have conclusive proof of the impact of Deeney's 'leadership' style. We have good enough players to get promoted if we had a half decent leader. My view is it doesn't matter who is in the squad if Deeney is the leader. Deeney is the cancer at the heart of the club. Over the past 10 years the club has been slowly transformed into a vehicle for Deeney's ego. It's something I've never witnessed before in professional sport. Sure Napoli and Madrid were vehicles for Maradona and Ronaldo's talent but we are a vehicle for Troy's ego not his talent. It's pathetic, it's embarassing and it's painful to watch the Chelmsley Wood version of Donald Trump dragging us down to his level.
Mane was talking about looking after Sarr at the club not on the pitch. He was being protective towards Sarr. Cross referencing Mane and Capoue's comments suggests there was a problem. My guess is at least part of the problem was Deeney but I'm speculating here. Richarlison's comments were from a former player inside the dressing room. He probably meant it's hard for a striker to take Deeney's spot due to his special status at the club. The question then is why does an erratic mediocre striker who rarely scores from open play and has proved to be a terrible leader have this status?
Yes agreed. Neither of these are indicators of a problem at all. His constant sniping at Perica is another matter, very unprofessional and undermining of a team mate who just so happens to play in the same position as him.
I've said it a hundred times this team won't move on until Deeney retires. He's not leaving because no one will pay his stupid wages. He's untouchable and undroppable, and no young striker prospect gets an opportunity or a chance to develop. We're stuck in Deeney groundhog day for the next 2-3 years until he hangs up his boots.
Yes I think you are guessing but that is up to you . Didn’t Richarlison start a load of games when he first came ? Right up till Silva left .. If someone like Ighalo or Vydra said that I’d be tempted to believe you more. Having said that Deeney and Gray do need to be replaced but then atm all the other options are injured.
You don't think his 'constant sniping' at Perica has been repeated multiple times with other players over the years? Or that its symptomatic of the poison inside the club?
Yes Richarlison was a regular under Silva and was later dropped by Javi after his performances nose dived. Another example of a player who got worse playing under Deeney's 'leadership'.
Honestly is there something personal going on here ? The rest of us think he isn’t up to it which is fine but you make it like some sort of personal vendetta and clearly make things up but don’t even know when he is out of contract .
