The person to blame for this debacle is Delefeou
We were 0-2 against Wolves in the semi final despite being the better side.
Andre sliced one over the bar and shanked another into Conor Coadys face.
Had we lost questions would have been asked about our "goalscorers".
However a wonder goal from GD plus a penalty got us back into the game we
    we should have won.
TBF Gray was involved in the winner from GD however it should not have come down to this

You might be onto something here. They seem so lacking in testosterone on the pitch that it wouldn't surprise me in the least to learn that they'd been ..ahem.. "pleasured" just before kick-off.

I'm not so sure. The only time Deeney showed any interest or life was when he was shoving the Swansea number 3 about, like the school bully knocking a kid 3 years younger about for his lunch money. The old testosterone started flowing when he got a chance to play the hard man against someone a lot smaller. Shame he didn't attack the ball with such intent.

Delusional that someone in the premier league will take him. Been demonstrably poor for 3 seasons now.

It definitely is his technical ability. And why would anyone in the Premier League take him when he's done nothing at that level for years and now looks equally as awful at the level below?

Er. You are forgetting we did. We not only did but paid 18.5m and threw enormous wages at him.

Don’t imagine struggling clubs won’t look at his stats and imagine they can revive him if we take a big enough hit. You see it all the time.

H’d just burned the Championship to pieces (player of season) and then scored about 10 goals in premier when we bought him (inflated by a hat trick against Sunderland). And was relatively young. His stock was higher by a factor of 100 when we spent a fortune on him.

Covid deflation has stopped clubs being ******ous. Which club could you see paying £35k per week for this utter failure?

Sadly, several in the bottom half on a short term deal.

Well it’s got to be 18 months to match his current deal. Sheff Utd and WBA won’t want to commit to 35k per week for this proven failure given they are almost down already. So who is buying him?

I can't ever see Gray shifting it out his feet, moving it and curling it into the bottom corner from 20 yards out like Jamal Lowe did. Ever. Eveeeeeeeeeer. Or Deeney.

    That's the depressing difference.

Touch of a brick wall. Awful, awful player. Not sure what Troy was doing today either, but he seemed to be far too deep. He was either told to be a CAM role, or he couldn't be bothered.

Gray has literally never proved himself in the Premier League - at his best, he scored 9 for Burnley, including Jumbo's aforementioned hat trick against a doomed Sunderland, so that's an absolute maximum of 6 other games he managed to score even a single goal in. For us, his best season was 7. He's about to turn 30, his stats have been getting demonstrably worse, and any club doing their scouting would literally instantly discount him based on the most cursory glance at his technique, not to mention asking why he doesn't even start most of the time at this point for us in the Championship. It is, indeed, absolute fantasy that any Prem team would be looking at him.

To go further and look at those most threatened teams, West Brom have Charlie Austin (who isn't even first choice) and Fulham have Alexander Mitrovic - both are better goalscorers than Gray. Sheff Utd in turn are both already doomed, and have a £20m striker gamble with some actual pedigree they've just bought in Brewster to go alongside another rising £20m striker in Oli McBurnie - neither of them are doing it in the Prem as it stands, but even their respective Championship records make them far more impressive than Gray, and they are both at the other end of their careers to him with plenty of room to improve; particularly in the case of Brewster.

No Prem club will even be looking at Gray; it's fugayzi, fugahzi, it's a wazy, it's a woozy. It's fairy dust. It’s never landed, it is no matter, it’s not on the elemental chart. It’s not f u c k i n g real.

He hasnt done anything so far this campaign to get PL clubs interested however.

He does run around and chase stuff albeit it's a bit like a dog chasing a car - he does it but he has no idea what to do if he actually catches it.

It is absolutely his technical ability that lets him down, and latterly, his confidence has also gone. He's a shell of a striker who has scored three goals in his last 40 appearances. I can't see any Premier League club being in the market for a 1 in 13 merchant whose all round game belongs in non league.

Well, it is true. He's scored 14 goals in the past three years at Premier League level. You can try to desperately spin that in a positive light based on goals per minute, sub appearances or whatever else but the end result is 14 goals in three years and 23 Premier League goals in total. Now, beyond that, he's looking appalling and not scoring in the Championship either.

I genuinely don't think he'd even be scoring at League Two level. Just an utterly woeful footballer.

No. of years wasnt a fair stick to beat him with as Deeney was heavily favoured as our striker in the Premier League. Again i pointed this out at the time.

Again, you can't just fart out some random barely-contextual stats once, which others in the moment disputed/disproved with their own/actual stats, and then constantly refer back to the theoretical concept of them like some kind of supreme phantom in perpetuity in an attempt to magically 'win' any argument.

Found this on Twitter. Apologies if it's been posted already.

Since lockdown started, Watford striker Andre Gray has held more illegal gatherings (2) than scored goals (1).

I am aware you're part of the Gray hate club jumping on all the negatives so of course you're sometimes not going to like what i have to say.

He’s been doing that every game this season, it’s been really noticeable how much deeper he has played this season. It happen in a few games last season but it’s all the time now and it doesn’t seem to help.

We may just be talking at cross purposes. He had the technical ability to score goals in the past, but certainly doesn’t apply it now. And he never seems to chase anything with vigour or aggression. Any knock on and his anticipation is awful. He will be in the wrong place.

His biggest problem may simply be his attitude. His repeated disregard of the rules during Covid doesn’t suggest a professional mindset. He’s become very wealthy and football appears down the list of things he wants to put his effort into.

But football recruitment is a ridiculous game of chance where the participants conspire to make each other believe in possibilities. A move isn’t out of the question for him. We would have to carry the bulk of the cost though.

Just watched the highlights on the official site, sorry to his fans, but AG cannot be credited with an assist for Clevs goal IMO, as he did not even get the last touch a Swansea defender did. Gray knew nothing about it he just mis-controlled the ball as is all to often the case with him

Wilf Rostron joined the club as a winger but GT had the inspiration to move him to left back, and it turned out great. Maybe Andre could be switched there too?

There is a clip on the interweb with a youtuber and Andre Gray doing a crossbar challenge
and other skills competition. The youtuber hit the bar with ease whilst Gray scuffed his attempt
along the floor and said " TBF I've never taken a free kick in my life " Wow !

Even in non league football his ball control was poor.

Gray just relied on his pace against slow old sluggers to get his goals.

A lot of strikers can have a purple patch for a season or two like he did for Brentford/Burnley.

Must have had a good midfield behind him or a strike partner who did the donkey work.

Teams would just pass it to Andre and look to pick up the 2cnd ball.

It's true, I am, along with any like-minded observer of football, but to be more accurate, I don't like what you say sometimes on him because it's so often disingenuous and misleading.
