A simple poll, after tonight’s game, where are you on the Bedwetter/COG scale, on a scale of 1-10?

A solid 5.5, straight down the middle like a Deeney penalty lol, aware of our issues, but also aware that somehow we might actually make something of this season

Sexy seven. I lean a bit more to "Nothing is getting better", rather than straight up sat on the fence. I am all for things to get better, but I feel Ivic's removal may have to be New Year unless we see a drastically upturn in performances on the pitch.

Pretty high and have been for some time but trying to be measured, although listening to Leventhal's post-game twitter video and hearing him say that the Pozzos are very far away from thinking of any change of head coach is a depressing nail in the coffin/patch on the sheet.

We are constantly hearing from Ivic about learning from mistakes and not liking what he's seen on the pitch, but then seeing no learning or improvement coming from it game after game, week after week, and it's incredibly tiring/dull at this point. We still have no coherent style or tactics, and we are still seeing players put in rancid, ill-disciplined and lackadaisical performances en masse most games.

Leventhal telling people to 'have some patience' on that front is pretty f.ucking wearing too, given we're close to halfway through the season.

I think we’re doing fine and can still achieve promotion. I also think fans aren’t taking into account injuries/ Covid enough when they criticise our inconsistency and style of play.

But we’d be doing and playing better with a better manager. I’m not really sure what Ivic is adding.

  7. I hate the football we play at the moment, but I despised most of the football we played in the 30+ years between GT leaving and Zola arriving, with a few exception seasons.

I’m thankful that we have an owner who, if far from perfect, at least ensures we have a club. We have been so so close to administration down the years.

I’m somewhere between a 3 and a 6 depending on the mood of the day.

We’re not getting promoted this year. It will take 3 years. This side has no character. Lets get Zola back in the summer and see what he can do with Quinna, Ngakia, Pedro etc.

The transfer window will make or break the season. We're starting to get left behind and the current squad doesn't seem to fit Vlad's brand of football.

I think Ivic was a poor appointment, we won't go up, and in 3 years time we will be financially crippled. However I believe Cv19 and the death of the transfer market has been much to blame for our inability to shift players who don't want to be here and get much needed cash into the business. I'm sure the plan would have been to bring in c£75m in transfer fees this summer, clear out the likes of Capoue, Geri, Pereyra, Deeney, Gray for decent fees and spend c£20m on 3 or 4 promising younger players, maybe Toney. However this hasn't been possible and I don't think they can be blamed for that. It was a really bad year to be relegated.
No idea what number that generates ?

A good point and something I have thought myself. in a normal year we’d likely move on/lose players like Capoue and Sarr which in the short term would seem like a bad thing to many but would actually be the best thing for us. The transfer situation has seen us keep a lot of our premier league players which is more of a curse than a blessing. You need players that are upwardly mobile in this league, players that haven’t achieved what they need to and will run through a wall to do it. Maintaining most of your failed Premier League team may seem like a positive, but it’s a huge negative in most cases. In their heads they’re better than the championship and are more likely to sulk rather than run through a wall for the team. This league has shown week in week out that effort trumps ‘talent’ every singe time. Toney cost £5m but has made a contribution to his team hugely more significant than any one of our ‘stars’ because he’s hungry and has something to try and achieve.

That’s the difference between our last promotion team and this team (that won’t get promoted) they had it all to prove and we’re looking up, rather than thinking they’d already been up and that’s where they should be regardless.

Totally convinced this season will end in tears the longer it drags on under this head coach.

Only avoiding a 10 as I can see the good in some players that are routinely criticised. Seeing comments in the Shoutbox last night like 'we must sell Sarr for any cost to anyone who will take him' are comments I don't associate myself with...so I can't go full 10. But I fully align myself with every bit of criticism levelled at the manager, owner and his henchmen.

Pozzo's overall - COG (more positives than negatives)
Club last 18 months - borderline but edging towards BW
Results this year - COG - we are in the mix and this doesn't always happen with relegated teams
Performances this year - BW - very dull.

I’m a three or four, because I recognise that overall the Pozzos have revolutionised the club and continue to do so and also because it’s just soccer ball after all.

I cant see how even the most ardent COG could be anything other than full on 'bedwetter' about the last 18 months for the club. Liverpool game aside, there is just no bright spot at all.

Because it's football and never clear cut. The season before we were battling for 7th in the league and made the cup final. It's not hard to see why the powers that be had faith in that squad and manager. Obviously this proved to be incorrect, so I'm 'bedwetter' over the results last season and seeing us relegated but don't now feel that justifies an all attack on every single person involved. They made mistakes for sure, I have my own opinion on where it went wrong. Still feel there is some credit, we have a strong squad for the champ and are not publicly known to be in a financial mess after relegation.

I was pretty much neutral/on the fence; however, just recently I noticed a tiny bit of wee has been coming out every time we play. So I assume this now makes me a mild bedwetter to some extent. It's a 6 from me.

A particularly bad year for us to be relegated, with a high percentage of foreign players--Bournemouth with their bulldog Brits managed to find clubs to spend big money on their mediocre Premier League players even though when we both got relegated they had even more debt than us I believe. I know things are looking bleak on the financial front, but I don't think we're quite heading to oblivion, don't go up this season and we'll still have some saleable assets (you'd think Sarr would still go for about £25m, JP for an 8 figure sum, with plenty of other young players who could fetch non-negligible amounts). Obviously when you take all of those out of the team, we'd be relying on loans and free transfers to have any ambitions beyond avoiding relegation to League 1 mind you!
