Would be nice to know in advance wouldn’t it. They think people have only got football in their miserable lives.

Just been advised unsuccessful for both Brentford and Naarch so hopefully you will get one of these - and be told shortly therefore - maybe they are holding back on Boxing Day in case we enter tier 3 next week ?

We have just been advised we have tickets for the Norwich game on Boxing Day, but nothing about the Brentford one. I assume we’re not going to that but it’s a bit odd because I had an email saying we were unsuccessful for Rotherham. (We went to the Cardiff game by the way.)

I’ve had an email about Brentford, nothing about Norwich.

I got emails telling me I was successful for both games! Not sure that's fair on people who haven't had a chance to buy tickets for any game, but sod it.

Still nothing from them. Was unsuccessful for the first two matches..

I would very surprised if any ST holders are unsuccessful for any of the four games if others are going to two, or even three of them. I think the club made it clear that it wouldn’t be a straight ballot for each game individually.

Got an email this morning that I got tickets for Brentford and Norwich. On that basis I assume anyone that wanted has already got one?

8000 fans applying for the 4 December matches would mean everyone would get one ticket each. Think we had 14000 season ticket holders last year so quite a few are going to miss out this month. Do we know how many people paid their £20 fee a the start of season?

Me too. Amazing, especially as these are the most attractive of the four fixtures.

  12. Went to Rotherham and will be going to Norwich on boxing Day. It seems like quite a few have got more than one game, which must mean that demand wasn't too great. (Considerably less than 8000 applications). I suppose if you are not in the same household as the people you usually go with, and what with no beer etc, it isn't quite so appealing.

I'm pretty sure Duxbury said most season ticket holders had committed. But I imagine the majority of people just can't be bothered under the current scheme. As @Ghost of Barry Endean says, my usual gig is to drive down and meet up with my dad, who is more local, and to go from there to the match. As we're not in the same household and neither of us is desperate enough to go alone given the many, many other restrictions they've put on attending, we're both giving it a miss for now. And obviously there will be a proportion of fans in Tier 3 areas too.

Indeed. I can't imagine demand is that great at all. I'm not a season ticket holder but have a ticket for Brentford, that means they've worked their way through the '13k' season ticket holders onto the matchday buyers already.

Pandemic, relegation, evening game, cold, traveling about, Christmas, can't go with their fellow day outers.

I genuinely thought I wouldn't get a ticket at all during December.

Applied for all four. We’re both season ticket holders and paid £20 each for this season so it looks like we’ve missed out again or has paranoia taken over.

I’ve got Brentford tickets. No email just looked in eticket site. Whoopee. Would’ve preferred Norwich but i guess that still might happen.

I've got a ticket for Brentford but no indication either way yet on Norwich.

My two sons (under 16 so in our household) and I have got tickets for both Brentford and Norwich (after not being successful for Cardiff and Rotherham). Received two separate emails last night. All three of us are ST holders. Looking forward to it but realise that we are lucky to be able to go in our usual 'group' - the boys are really pleased which is great.

I hope Herts stays out of tier 3 so you can all go to the games.

If Watford goes into tier 3 will the Norwich game still be open to supporters
given that it is on Boxing Day ?

Looks like as of Wednesday 00.01. Not sure if the club will still let fans go to Brentford but certainly Norwich and future games is a no.

Non ST holder but applied for all 4 games. Didn’t get the first 2 then got an email on the 10th saying I didn’t get the next 2 either. Done me a favour really.

All London, Kent and Hertfordshire going T3 by Wednesday? Well fans back at the Vic lasted long. Time for more soulless football

Yet another advantage over us. Mind you, from the state of the football so far overall, I think having to listen to the COG's boo on highlights might be a blessing.

Btw, I take it I used that expression wrong?

Interesting to see if/when we may get back into the stadium with a Government announcement next Monday.

Will we eventually move back down through the old tier system that enables fans in the ground or will there be more caution?

Optimistically, with COVID cases/deaths/hospitalisations dropping like a stone and vaccinations shooting up I imagine there will be fans at least for the final few games of the season. I'll be in the ballot if so!

If hospitality reopens at the beginning of April then I would hope we can start to see limited numbers being allowed back in to football grounds. I went to the Rotherham game and it couldn't have been anymore Covid secure, certainly much more than any supermarket I've visited.

They are hoping to have fans at Wembley for the cup finals so maybe a sign crowds might be allowed elsewhere?

My gut feeling is we're done until the summer when it comes to sports crowds, when the government will probably consider it more socially acceptable to get it started again with events like Wimbledon than football matches.

Imagine if we need to beat Swansea on the final day to overtake them for automatic promotion and we had a crowd to get behind the team.

I think it could only end well and there'd be no distractions for the players.

To be fair it was no excuse for absolutely bottling it down the other end in the 91st minute

Sheffield Wednesday celebrated like they won the league themselves, very odd response.
