Before the latest lockdown I've been to a few of my local team games in Holbeach Lincolnshire to get my footy fix as they're well below the National League. There's around a hundred or so people there, plenty of space and it's great to see football again. £7 to get in, £1 for a coffee at half time and £3 for a pint afterwards. Happy days!

Fingers crossed we will see some return in a very socially distanced way, low numbers, spaced out, with everyone remaining seated and perhaps staggered arrival and leaving times, maybe even rapid onsite testing I late spring.
You could even hope if we get decent vaccine role out for a late summer return or planned return to near normal for the new season

I'm pretty sure Watford is in Tier 1 so 4000 fans would be allowed.

Might mean the football gets better?!

They're announcing the new tiers on Thursday. There's no guarantee the old tiers will map directly across to the new ones, especially as nearly a month will have passed.

Seems unfair to me under these new rules we have a massive restriction on our capacity and Luton get a sell out every week.

In a stadium of average Championship size 4000 might as well be empty as far as atmosphere goes, because people will be forced to distance as much as possible. It really won't be any better than what we currently have.

    Good for club incomes, though.

I’m not too clued up on the gates for lower league teams, but could actually lead to an increase for some, with people bored and wanting to get some live sport?

I'd probably go to some non league games rather than ours until the stadium is fully opened.

Luton will gain more than most.

    4k is half their ground!

Could actually help Bournemouth if they end up in tier 1, basically half their stadium.

Apparently there is a fair chance we will only be allowed 2000.
Whatever the number it should be for locals only.Anyone more than 20 miles away tough luck.
Although I want back in I am not interested in attending during the pandemic.
I'm sure there will be some pissed off supporters whoever the club allows in but perhaps we can all apply some common sense and be reasonable on this issue.
I look forward to 2021/22 back in the PL where Ivic manages to beat the record of consecutive 1-0 victories:D with Gerry and Sarr managing to get their conversion rates into double figures.
    Sometimes it's good to dream.

Although I’m all for getting fans back in, it does seem like odd timing to allow it now and not back in August when infection rates were much lower.
I also agree that, if you (rightly) can’t allow away fans, then you can’t have long-distance ‘home’ fans either.

4000 fans booing every crap pass and spineless shot? The players will have to play like titans to get clapped off at FT and be able to hear it.

As I said in an earlier post I've been going to my local team up here in Lincs who play in the United Counties League, they're seeing larger attendances at all games and even the reserves are getting a decent crowd.

What a load of nonsense, I live in Leighton Buzzard. I get a train to the Junction. We are allowed to travel. we are allowed to go to the pub, why should I not be allowed to go to the football?

If we are talking 20 miles as the crow flies, then I would just about be alright.
Would be grossly unfair on other fans who have taken up residence further out of the area though.

I live in an area likely to be Tier 2, possibly 3 when things are confirmed later this week. I’m assuming this would rule me out of joining the ballot, at least until our status was downgraded?

    Can they check location?

Will it be a set number of people per family ?

Anyway depends what tier Watford are in atm.

I suppose if all tickets have to be bought in advance that location can be checked, yes. I tend to agree with Leighton Buzzard though: if a supporter is travelling from an area in a lower, or the same, tier why should they be restricted?

Yes that is a fair point.

Many might not live in Watford itself ofcourse.

I'm absolutely desperate to get back due to my stupidity earlier in the year. Some of you may remember our last home game in front of fans, a 3-0 win against Liverpool. I didn't go as I was sure we would lose, it was on TV, there would be more matches and I thought I had better things to do with my day. This was cataclysmically stupid on a level rarely seen in any walk of life.

What I'd give now to see any Watford game with any number of fans under any circumstances.

Can't really speculate how many fans will be allowed, case rates in Watford are far higher now than pre lockdown, but seem to have levelled off. I also think being near London means hospital capacity may be less of an issue than other areas, so here's hoping.

I gave my tickets away. Was fed up with watching us lose matches and I've never been interested in seeing 'star' players on the opposition have a field day.

I was watching round a friend's house and even missed two of the goals.
