A monkey could get this squad top 6. Left back or no left back we're long enough into the season that we should be seeing what Ivic is wanting from the team and I'm not quite getting it so far. Defensively we are definitely more solid but as @põder says, if you sit back for long enough, something will often give.

Nothing is changing, we aren't getting any better and there is no evidence that he is getting any close to implementing his 'style' (whatever the hell that is supposed to be)

We need to get rid ASAP, every game we waste under this out of his depth coach is taking us further away from automatic promotion. We can't make the same mistake we did last season in hanging on to QSF for too long

In the first half I thought we actually played well, we could’ve had 2 or 3. But that’s not good enough for Ivic so he brings off Pedro and Gray and changes formation. I reckon we would’ve had 3 points if he’d kept things the same for the first 25/30 mins of the second half. Really poor and extremely frustrating.

He is a bit of a Silva mark 2. We were all very excited to get him in, then saw how crap and boring his tactics seem. We have been very lucky in our last two home games too. Our solid defence has been found out and we are so easy to play against.

We need a well rounded tactition. This Serb is going to be gone by Xmas.

I really liked him at the start I understood the reason we were defensive and pragmatic at the beginning of the league campaign but we now have one of the best if not the best-attacking line ups in the league and we are playing so negatively. Most of the defences we have come up against are useless yet we don't really have a go at them, every man and his blind dog can see that the formation does not work yet we play it every single week and never improve. Yes, we are quite high in the league but that has mainly down to individual attributes and moments of individual quality than good management. I am not in Ivic out category just yet as I would like to see us stick with a manager for once, plus he did have virtually none of his squad to prepare for this game and he was put in a bad place at the start of the season, so he gets the benefit of the doubt from me but my patience is wearing thin.

I bet he told them to defend more as we were looking a bit open at the back but nothing really changed.

We sat back and still looked too open.

His comments after the game (having yet another moan) make no sense. He agrees with the suggestion of the lack of desire in some players. But he doesn't mention we were doing pretty much OK in the first half with the three up front.

He changes it, ****s it all up and then accuses players of a lack of desire.

For what it's worth, I saw **** play at times but no lack of desire from anyone.

Man's asking for a payoff. I have no doubt.

Gonna be real blasé here, but wouldn't you? You've come from a different country to manage in England's second tier at a club that has a global (as unfortunately the Prem is viewed worldwide) reputation of hiring and firing. It's win win for him- go up and not only do you have a chance to manage in the Prem but your stock goes up.

Any sign of the team not looking like they'll go up and you know full well you're bound to get the chop and a nice-ish pay out.

I find it surprising so many are calling for the manager's head. After 70 minutes today we were top.

Ok, there are problems and we should be a lot better than we are. Away from home we've been appalling and at home, we've been lucky to win 5 out of 6. The only game I can say we deserve to win was the Luton one. The rest I think we've had the rub of the green.

Things aren't right, and it doesn't look like we're going in the right direction......BUT.......we have to give him time.

Maybe are performances have not deserved a 22 point return but we're pretty much on target of 2 points per game.

We can improve and have to. What frustrates me is Ivic is far too cautious. He won't play 4-3-3 unless he has a qualified full back, regardless of it stifling Sarr and Pedro.

Defensively we are sound, but not invincible. Going forward we are poor. Only 3 away goals in 6 games is just terrible. We've not played anyone good yet either. Bristol will be our toughest test on the road. We've played, Barnsley, Derby, Wycombe, Wednesday and QPR today. All clubs at the bottom of the league. To have only scored three goals against that lot is just ridiculous.

Personally, I think the noose will start to tighten if we lose on Wednesday evening.

We have the best squad, but we are nowhere near looking like the best team. In Ivic's defense there has been a lot of turmoil until now.

But he's had an international break to work the team but today it looked like a wasted two weeks.

With players returning, excuses are running out. He needs to get a lot more out of this squad than he is getting.

I’d love us to keep a manager for a few seasons but Ivic isn’t that person. Negative, stubborn and not getting the best out of a strong squad. The sooner we fire him the sooner we can save the season imo. I have no faith in him whatsoever.

I’ve heard some say we were on top for 70 minutes of the game, but I seem to think it was the other way round. Every one can see that the team is set up way too negatively to gain promotion. We don’t need 2 defensive midfielders and 3 CBs, we aren’t playing Man City FFS! It’s not the players now, the blame is firmly on Ivic. He has lost my vote now and I think the sooner we get rid the better. We are in a good position and a manager should be able to hit the ground running with a now seemingly settled squad.

Another vote to bin him here. Sounds knee-jerk but he is a yet another stubborn arse who will not improve. We've seen it all too many times. Things will just slowly get worse and we will waste valuable games. If we don't go up this year, we're losing all our best players. Plenty of time left in the season so I'm not concerned yet, as long as he goes soon.
Pozzos take some blame for not strengthening the team adequately, but Ivic's tactics are toxic.

I don't think he knows how to change tactics.
I was hoping he would be a breath of fresh air in the club. I am sorry, but he is boring the fans to death.
He seems clueless. I have no idea who would replace him,
He is lucky as the Championship is so weak that he is getting an extended run as Manager.
Things have to change and soon.

I genuinely think that he wants the sack.

    He can't be this incompetent.

He probably was disgusted at our transfer window and had verbal assurances which were not delivered upon. He could have walked but decided his best bet was to work to rule until he got the sack and then got his year's money.

I'm still not in the camp of wanting Ivic gone - but today he let the handbrake off in terms of team selection to start with, only to then very quickly draw the handbrake back up again. That was easily, by far and away the biggest red flag so far - he wasn't even prepared to let a more attacking nuance show itself...the first sign of difficulty and he tried to bring up the drawbridge...and it didn't work.

I, perhaps naively, think there's more to come from him as a manager. But whether we see it or not...jury's out.

As I said after the win's pre-international break...win's are great but these performances will catch up with us and no way do we come Top 2 without a dramatic change in mindset and attacking philosophy.

We have a talented squad, certainly for the Championship, but how many genuine winners do we have?

Even Pearson, who prides himself on motivation, couldn't get a tune out of them after his initial good start. The Liverpool win was an anomaly amongst a growing run of poor performances.

We're seeing this time and time again, and now it looks as though history could be repeating. Too many players coasting.

I've watched his post match conference, and he's fuming. Calling players out (indirectly) by praising only those three central defenders who were on international duty, so damning the rest that he trained with for the past two weeks.

So, I think this is the red flag. We'll either respond on Wednesday and come out all guns blazing, or it could be a big defeat where players make a statement of non-intent.

I think Ivic has the potential to be a very good manager, but Watford with the unique band of brothers he's inherited maybe too difficult for him to deal with. I'm not sure anyone can manage Watford for any longer than 20 games before the cracks start to appear.

The evidence is there and do we keep replacing head coaches, get a bounce for 10 games then sack him when it starts to fade, then repeat.......or do we weather the storm and let him sort this squad out once and for all?

We've gone down the path of giving youngsters a chance, but now the more senior players are coming back, has there been a major uplift in performance levels? I don't see it.

I read players like Gray and Deeney saying how good they are at this level......well bloody well go out and score some goals to prove it. Ok, a bit harsh to pick on them as they've only just got into the side after injury. But today, Gray had a great chance, but as usual he miskicks in front of the goal and the chance goes begging. This is a typical Gray. He has a great opinion of himself, but the reality is he's not as good as he thinks he is.....and I believe we've got a few players like this.

No one is claiming a first team spot with brilliant performances. Very few are standing out, apart from Foster who has been constantly good bar a couple of mistakes, and that in itself underlines a problem. Our keeper has had to be top drawer and we shouldn't really need him to be.

Our results are much better than performances. So far we've rode our luck but we must take advantage of that and grow into our potential.

I'm totally behind Ivic's comments today and it's all about attitude. Our players have not put in a performance worthy of their reputation all season......and herein lies the problem.

As others have mentioned, this Pozzo revolving door regime has meant the players are not accountable for their actions. If they don’t give 100% then the manager goes

I’m slowly, compared to others, coming to the view that they have created this toxicity and there is no answer to it. Bring in a new manager and players don’t play for him. Bring in new players and existing players don’t gel so blame the manager

I’m not convinced we have the quality for promotion. Sarr is quality, but not a striker, and his finishing is poor. Pedro is in development, and will probably be quality in a few years. So the here and now strikers are Deeney and Gray...enough said. Defensively we have a mid-table championship level defence. I am not sure what to make of our midfield frankly, the talent is there but I can’t see the likes of Capoue busting a gut over 46 league games. So change the manager every month until the end of the season, but it will make no difference.
