  1. There is just so much wrong with this team it's hard to know where to start

In fact I'm going to put as much effort into this post as Ivic does into coaching....

No idea at all. Try to pinch a goal. Defend for dear life with a non existent midfield.

With the squad he has Ivic should be creating a flowing fluid free passing side creating a hatful of chances. What we have seen is a team bereft of confidence, unable to pass with any accuracy and has a gaping hole in midfield that renders the strike force impotent. Aside from the Sema corner we have failed to see any innovation in set pieces. The defensive record is more a matter of luck and Ivic seems married to this formation regardless of what the opposition are doing.

He has the chance to make several changes but does not and was outfoxed by Warburton. To be honest he has been pretty poor really thus far and seems unable to change. So much for him being a great tactician. I mean he could have pushed Sema to the left wing, Kiko to left wing back and brought on Ngakia.

I don't know if he thinks he is playing FM or playing a league season on PES that he is so concerned about stamina by withholding Garner and Ngakia for instance two of our best players this season or not even utilizing Murray and his experience while Perica is out. Appalling.

Really missed a "terrier" type like Hughes in midfield today, Capoue and Chalobah in a midfield pair doesn't work. As much as I want Quina to come good, his defensive work is absolutely awful, always stands off the player like he's in the middle during a game of keep-ball rather than actually getting stuck in.

Think this may be media talk. The majority of us weren't happy with the transfer window. And some players look disinterested or just bad too.

Genuinely looked like we were doing defensive drills in the second half. What must our possession have been? Ten, fifteen percent? Absolutely horrible.

Deeney has talked his way back into the team based on his self-manufactured reputation, goals from days long gone and scoring penalties to hide a pitiful goal record in the last few years. Our talisman who flaked out during the pandemic and proudly led us to relegation last season came on when we were 1-0 up in a derby against a mediocre weakened opposition.........

It's another poor away performance and one we're lucky to get a point from. Can't wait for Hughes to return when fully fit.

Kabasele wasn't in the squad - it's clear he must have got a knock in training so no idea what you're blabbing on about.

Same problems will beset Deeney in the championship as they did in the PL. If you don’t make any runs and can’t beat an offside trap you won’t score any goals.

    Yes - it's all Deeney's faulty clearly.

Nothing to do with the manager or any of the other players used.

Formations, tactics or style of play.

Sarr and Capue our best players supposedly might as well not be on the pitch.

Yeah, will be great to see yet another player we pin our hopes on come back and make absolutely no difference whatsoever under Ivic's horrendous management.

TBF we have played a bit better when Garner plays. Not saying much admittedly with players like quina, chalobah and a lethargic capoo to compare with, but may as well play the 'better players'.

No, it's Ivic's fault for bringing the fat, useless oaf on.

Give the opposition the ball, don't pressure them, let them get in behind and pray.

Oh and only pass backwards, that's a big one.

As much as I'd love us to pull of some more extravagant routines, what we're doing from corners is simple but effective and most importantly - is working. Only Reading have scored more from corners than us this season

Are you the former Mrs Deeney? The scary obsession you have with him puts even the most unusual of usual suspects on here to shame.

Started great scored in 2 mins, got gradually worse all match

their goal was always coming, just surprised we got a point.

Kiko in first half was good, and a positive is the amount of chances we made in the first half, negative is how bad we are at making anything from those chances.

should be top of the league but lack lustre (crap) performance has cost us , Sarr had an absolute moment of brilliance towards the end, but most of the match was crap (probably knackered and shouldn't have been played)

midfield was crap challobah just ain’t good enough (was hoping Hughes would be back by now), capoue needs to try harder , looks like he is winding down for retirement.

Cathcart isn’t good enough , thought Troost and Wilmott were ok

    Gray and Deeney added nothing

Sema wasn’t up to his normal standard

anybody I haven’t mention (with the exception of foster) was probably crap as well

and I am happy clapper !!!

Maybe but more strange was he makes a fuss about going up to 5 subs then only makes two leaving 2 young players he and the club have hyped up no end on the bench.

I mean West Ham fans must be having a laugh at Ngakia hardly playing and Man U will be wondering why Garner is in and out.

I presume the idea was for Sarr to turn up and get any ball Deeney knocks down.

We didn't even get over the half away till the end really and the midfield defiantly was outplayed.

My favourite today was the corner routine between Sarr and Femenia that ended up with a throw in 10 yards further up the pitch.

The jury may be out on Garner who looks a bit lightweight and slow but at least he's shown that he can play a creative pass, keep the ball in tight spaces and has a set piece on him. The jury has already returned their verdict on Quina and he's exhausted every line of appeal, he's absolutely shiiiite.

First half we weren't exactly convincing, but at least we did create chances, OK they could have scored, but we could easily have had about 3. Gray wasn't amazing though he did have that one chance which almost crept in, Sarr was infuriatingly passive, a few times after we scored he could have really driven at them, but was far too tentative, is that because he's come back late from international duty? Or something different, because if he's not even driving at them when they're playing to your strengths, what the hell is going on? Midfield were poor all game, never took the game by the scruff of the neck (really hoping Hughes can make a difference here, annoying he's suffered a setback, though a) how much difference can one man make, and b) it does show that Chalobah and Cleverley are not up to the mark even in the Championship), but Jesus, we just couldn't get going at all in the second half. Sema again got the assist, though he was pushed back so much in the second half and looked uncomfortable (but you can hardly pin much of the blame on him since he's not a defensive player). Defense was OK I guess, they really weren't helped by the shoddy performance in front of them

Sarr's finishing is really an issue for the player he is supposed to be/become, as well, and is certainly not helping us in the moment either. We could have been up enough to get away with being utterly rancid, or even justified a more defensive approach, but no.

With Ivic, it's almost like he feels lucky to have somehow managed to steal a goal from somewhere and no confidence in or idea how to get another, so desperately tries to preserve it at the expense of everything else. It's both misguided and seemingly a bit pathetic.

Yes! This 100%. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a Watford team so efficient at routinely turning our attacking set pieces (corners, free kicks around the opposition box) into possession for our own goalkeeper within 3 passes.

“Oh no, the first ball has been blocked. Shall I (a) put it back in the box where 7 of my team mates are waiting or (b) lay it off to the defender on the halfway line who can immediately pass it back to Foster?”

I do feel sorry for him, after breaking on the scene 2 seasons ago he came to a standstill last season, there's talent there, but he needs games. Problem is, he's not going to walk into the team, and when he has been given brief opportunities, he's been poor

Sarr isn't going to Liverpool, Manchester United or anywhere for £40m. We'll end up selling him for about £20m to Crystal Palace and he'll be kept out of the team by Andros Townsend.
