Money for nothing for the rest of the year? Nobody blames you as everybody knows Watford just sack their coaches. Squad must be crap as they just got relegated. Hmmm...
Yes - can see the likes of Gary Lineker tweeting 5 minutes after Ivic is sacked if that happens saying "typical Watford etc"
When I've slaughtered the so called government and my useless colleague who cannot formulate even the most basic of invoices let alone deliver anything resembling a tennis lesson,I'll deal with Lineker. All of these with a blunt pencil.
He hasn’t mentioned any Championship news since that little dig about Ivic lasting a day. Might not notice!
I can feel I'm transitioning from Neutrally Optimistic to Bedwetter. It means I get flashes of looking forward to tomorrow's game, then remembering that we're playing like s**t at the moment and would rather not witness another dire performance
I'm still telling myself it's all going to click into place at any moment... Just attack more and have a few shots at goal!
Something to be positive about. David Prutton has gone for a Stoke win. So far in the six games for us this season he's predicted, he hasn't got a single result correct. Given that we won't score, lump on the 0-0.
Feels like momentum is swinging the way of the bedwetters. Switching sides to be contrary: 3-0 Watford win.
Strange response, you do realise there can be fantastic managers beyond the manager of the team top of the league? I'd say Nuno Esperito Santo is a fantastic manager but then again Wolves aren't top of the league...
Nuno is over achieving at Wolves whilst Stoke finished 16th last season and have been average this season.
M O'Neill took NI to a major tournament for the first time in 20 years (he came in when we were outside the top 100 in the world), nearly took us to another (lost a playoff to Switzerland thanks to one of the worst refereeing decisions ever, 1-0 over two legs) and left the squad in a position to make a playoff final for the upcoming Euros. He took over Stoke when they were bottom of the Championship and took them to 15th and 8 points clear of relegation. This season they have as many points as us despite our squad being much stronger on paper.
Too busy gobbing off at Sun journo's on Talksport. No doubt loving being all over Twitter yesterday with 'proper' football fans egging him on.
I am not arguing that he has not done a good job but we have picked up points of better than teams than Stoke playing the way that we have this season. To be fair Stoke should never have been at the bottom of the table when he come in last season and he did come in at the beginning of November. Arguably that is because Northern Ireland have a better squad, they managed to win the qualifier without O'Neil.
Game not on Red Button. https://www.stokesentinel.co.uk/spo...ws/sky-sports-red-button-championship-4663420
Fortunately, O’Neill won’t be kicking a single ball tomorrow. Manager influence is rated way too highly in my opinion. It wasn’t Ivic who told Capoue and the others to misplace all those passes at Barnsley.
And now Masina is posting pictures of himself in training*. All very strange. *picture is just him in training kit at London colney standing next to a ball
More social media trolling by the club. Obviously they read the complaints about not having a proper LB on here, so they’ve wheeled out Masina for a quick photo op to make it seem like he’s almost ready to play.
I've read that, and apart from feeling like I was having bits of the internet thrown at my head, i'm not entirely wiser. I think its soemthing to do with them saying that this game ordinarily would've been a saturday game, so doesn't count.
The agreement between Sky and the EFL (signed pre-covid) was for a certain number of midweek rounds to be shown. Due to the restructuring of the season and more midweek rounds, some of these will not be shown to keep in line with the original agreed number.
After the last game and very poor showing all around, I have been trying to work out why our midfield have imploded after a decent first few games. I think a major for us since the restart has been a general lack of basic fitness and stamina. Our players are not as fit as other teams in the Chip, so only players like Femenia, Sarr and Sema seem to have the legs naturally. Capoue is only at half fitness and coupled with a very slow Chabs our central midfield has been non existent other than sharing the ball back and forth with the back 5. In early games with garner playing we had lots of neat triangles able to move the ball out of defence, but last 2 games the back three eventually get the ball to a player right on the touchline who has nobody in support, so in fear of trying a ball up to Sarr they just pass back to Foster, and on it goes. Also there were far too many times on the attack when a player would turn back and pass back to one of our defenders. So a) we need Garner in midfield to make himself available, and b) we need to go for it more often rather than trying a ridiculous tip tap pass or a reverse face back to defender. In essence we don't have the energy or fitness in midfield to aggressively take it to the opposition (apart from Sarr) so playing with Chabs and Capoue right now is a fatal flaw in Vkads tactics...
I just about managed to establish it won’t be on the red button before the website brought on the epilepsy I didn’t know I had.
IMO we could start looking at a change in formation 3-5-2 can easily become 5-3-2 if you cannot break out Also our 2 up top are not strikers and are probably better employed coming from deeper so that they have space to run at a defence. I personally would go 4-3-3 with one of the 3 midfielders in a playmaker role Pedro and Sarr as the wider forwards but to drop back as out ball players CF ? Anyone's guess but main job is to occupy centre backs so we can create an overload elsewhere. However I am fully aware that theory on a website is easy.!
After his comments this week I think Ivic will be sent packing if we lose this. He's a walking dead man anyway, barring a miraculous upturn of results and performances. I really can't see him being here much longer.
