Don't bother doing it if your connection "hangs"...about 40 seconds got recorded as 859 or something stupid. Only doing it at home in future!

Seeing as the quiz is now dominated by Moog's spud mates, I think we should be invited to a Spuds quiz to occasionally piss on their chips

 

You're more than welcome to join our Friday night Zoom quiz.

Of the quizzers though, only Nug and Wiz are my quiz team mates and in their defence, they've been a fixture since I set the quiz up years ago.

 

And Nug is a Villa fan. Only Wiz is a Spud, though he's local and attends Watford games when covid allows.

 

Not sure I've seen 3 players with the same score and time before...

 

It happened to me January or early February when I was the third player to achieve the same score and time. Pretty sure I finished 11th because of it as well!!

 

Today's a good day to play. Lots of 10s to be had. Roll up, roll up...

Surprisingly tricky today (judging by some of the scores)

 

As usual, a distinct USA bias, but at least it's better than this week's 'history' quiz which had nothing to do with history as far as I could tell!

 

Luckily my specialist subject is US States and State Capitals (also French Departments and Prefectures, but they never come up!)

 

Unfortunately, mine is not! Now European history, yes, but we get little of that even in the 'history' quizzes....as per my comment about this week's bizarre one.

 

Another Monday 'history' quiz that has almost nothing to do with history! Weird.

 

And again. @torontotimmy: I'm confused as to how questions about musicals etc are predominating in these 'history' quizzes. Or has the definition of 'history' changed recently?

 

It's just a very rubbish quiz site. It's early noughties technology and well past its sell by date. If I can find a better one I'll bring it to the fore.

 

After yet another ‘history’ quiz that was actually an ‘entertainment’ quiz, I’m not sure it’s just the tech. Looks to me like what’s being chosen for the questions actually comes from a section titled ‘history of entertainment’, which is a different thing completely. It’s not as if the science & technology quizzes include questions on Shakespeare plays or anything...

 

Yeah, but if categories were correctly filed, you wouldn't get that issue. Also, you shouldn't get questions from specific themes which don't work outside of that context, eg. The Sheff Wed question about 'what is their sponsor in this year?'

 

Fair comment, but it is strange that nearly all history questions seem to be about songs from musicals and such like.
