This is football, and these moments come around regularly. Letting a win slip deep in stoppage time is a Watford thing. We should all be used to it by now.

It will probably be seen as a decent point at the end of the season. It's important not to lose this type of game.

Yes, the referee was poor. You have to send players off for the sort of tackles we saw today. They wanted to damage Sarr, and the ref gave him no protection. Tindall will be delighted their dark arts tactics worked.

If we beat Wycombe on Tuesday, then today will be a decent point. No point in picking over the bones of the game. It is what it is.

You can only look at your own performance. We defended well, but the midfield still seems light. Garner was weak today, and had to come off at half time or he would have been sent off.

We constantly miss good chances, and until we sign a clinical striker this will continue year after year.

There is hope we will improve with returning players. Deeney and Gray will make a difference for us as will Hughes.

We've got 14 points from 7 games. Bang on target with a 2 points per game average.

We have to avoid injuries though, as that will hurt us and the only thing I think will stop us from going up.

    We woz ******* robbed

They should have been down to nine players, both Billing and Kelly should of walked, and it had to be Kelly who got away with not just one, but two red cards, who was the one who had the shot that Mepham deflected into our net

So yet again we lose out to a player who should not have been on the pitch

Where is VAR when we need it?

Come to think of it we never got a lot of help from it when we actually had access to it in the PL, so we probably wouldn't have got much help from it had it been available to us in the Championship either

Exactly what I said at the time. Although none of our players surrounded him brandishing imaginary red cards unlike Wilson, Arter et al. ****s

Dirty cheating team. But that’s as good as they will be this season whereas we are improving every game.

Yeah ok. Let's see how many points you would have if referee's did their job. It's football not rugby.

Yes I agree, until he came in we’ve not really had player to create little bits of individual magic etc in close quarters like that. Obviously Sarr and Pedro are great players, but Quina reminded me of what Gerri bought to the team and what we have subsequently been missing.

He said that he didn't need to say anything about the red cards and was right - everybody knew. But when the final whistle went I was surprised as it was only just over 7 mins and there had been a goal in stoppage time.

No. That 4 nil was diabolical. Wouldn't want to relive that again.

Agreed, Hughes to come back, Capoue to enter the first XI, Gray waiting in the wings, gutted at the late goal, but plenty to be positive about!

Garner’s fouls were not studs over knee high so you are correct to assume he would have been sent off. And how the hell did Billing not even get a yellow? Elbow into Perica’s head whilst not even jumping; studs into Cleverley’s thigh soon after & at least 2 touch and go challenges in the 2nd half. None of the officials were up to scratch at any sort of standard, let alone the Champ.

I have to agree about Quina, that is two good cameo appearances on the trot when he has looked good. I wonder if he could do the same over 90 minutes though?

Maybe it might be worth giving him start next time or at least a longer cameo of around 25 t0 30 mins?

He needs to play AM behind the front 2 to be effective.

The subs did pretty well and made a difference I though.

Quina and Pedro got forward more whilst Capoue controlled the midfield better.

That's exactly where I was thinking he should play, or directly behind a lone striker in a 4231.

We shat the bed. Muff had a gameplan as the away team and it paid off. Ours nearly did, but not nearly enough.

Playing for 1-0 doesn't give you margin for error and we always have an error in us.

He's played out wide a few times this season (albeit not quite as a classic winger a la Sarr, he likes to come inside a lot and play from there), and you can tell it's not natural to him, but he did a lot better there against Derby than he did in previous games. An option perhaps, but Sarr of course is one of the very best players in this division (maybe will play there on Tuesday if Sarr is given a little breather after taking a few hits today?). I know he isn't the most physical, but I'd like to see him as an attacking mid in front of a really solid midfield, let Hughes and Capoue do the donkey work, and Quina to be the luxury player, but what an option he could be there

Meh. Understand they’re one of the good teams in this division but cling on for 1-0’s and counter to then get promoted and lose 8-0 every week.

Not sure if this football malarkey brings that much joy anymore, if we were going to have a fun expansive season it would be this season.

Ah well, good result if sandwiched between two wins.

Watching the game my mate made a good comment to me, he said that maybe this is the kind of game that Troy may be useful in, his dominant presence may also put a bit of pressure on weak minded refs.

Managed their threat pretty well until late on when we started to make poor decisions, running the ball out of defence or getting sloppy with passes.

But to be fair Sarr should've buried his chance and then it wouldn't have been an issue. Looked a £40m player with the touch and ball in first half, but he misses a lot of chances too.

Thought we played pretty well and the goal was one of the best goals we’ve scored in ages. That Bournemouth starting 11 is easily going to be the best starting 11 we come up against and at no point did they really look like scoring until they lumped it into the box. With proper officiating that’d have been a walk in the park. I think tiredness probably came into it a bit at the end too.

I’d say we’ve improved in almost every game so far and we’ve definitely improved going forward. Sort out attacking and defending set pieces and we’re golden.

We seemed a bit uncommitted to getting the second goal. Need to be a bit more ruthless.

However I think we also seemed tired and that’s going to happen when we can’t keep possession. We can improve in both respects.

a stupid throwaway comment in the fans forum seems to have become our whole mission statement.

Quina had a couple of good shots and Sarr should have scored, but we didn't open them up after our goal. To be fair, they barely opened us up until their either, but as the away side, that's almost pitch perfect

  23. Hogg-DEENEY!!!

Sarr definitely should have scored, and that would have killed the game stone dead, maybe JP should have done better with his shot. The gameplan was fine, it was just individual errors and a shocking display from the ref which cost us. Errors happen, if the likes of Kabasele didn't have those in him, he wouldn't be here, and if Sarr were an absolutely deadly finisher, he'd have gone to a top top club. Midfield was a bit ropey, but a) we're not going to play a team as good as Bournemouth for a while (possibly all season), and when we do, we'll have Capoue playing from the start and Will Hughes alongside him. Gutted at the late goal, but overall, there's a lot to be encouraged about

In the cold light of day, a draw against them isn't a disaster, but conceding in the 6th min of added time naturally stings a bit.

Dirty masters of the dark arts. Ismailia Sarr is getting battered every game and we need players to protect him cleverly did but the likes of Hughes and Troy will give it back to the opponents and make them think twice about trying to hack down our African wizard.

That foul was serious dangerous play in my book and with intent I’m positive the muff players were told to wack him early and no coincidence Kelly was the opposite side of the pitch cleaning out the player he would be up against in the lwb position chasing shadows for 90mins was the one to do it.

Capoue once fully fit is going to destroy most midfields in this league and I can see a panic buy from a bottom premier league team in January for him, just hope we’re in a strong position come Jan to keep him.
Chalobah finally looked awake and played well
Overall a good performance against 12 men need to be that bit more clinical in front of goal, ivic made some good changes freshening things up and good subs. Win these next 2 away games which we should with good rotation of the players and the draw today isn’t bad. Cos right now they must feel like it’s a defeat.

We seem to be cursed regards strikers this season. Gray injures himself in a friendly and hasn’t played since. Perica needlessly gets a three match ban with a red card in a losing cause in a match nobody was really fussed about, then comes back, gets off the mark and then pops his shoulder. Deeney comes back from injury, plays under ten minutes only to disappear again (unless you listen to TalkSport or read the Sun). And we’d better not bring up the Suarez debate again. Or mention the Brighton loanee.

We’ve only scored twice in one match this season. Blindingly obvious I know but if you can’t get that second goal and two goal margin, you run the risk of what happened today.

Ironically today was our first score draw since the opening game of the re-start. And ironically that day it wasn’t us conceding the last gasp goal (although we did concede in injury time too that match I think?)

I have reflected on this match on my trip around Lidls.
I suspect that I will think differently on Tuesday but at the moment I dislike AFC Muff more than Loon.
Dismal antics and such a shame we could not finish the job,at both ends.
Chalobah and WTE were very impressive.
I'm staggered how the ref did not issue red cards to Kelly and Billing. Are these officials not assessed these days? No accountability it seems.

I don’t want Troy anywhere near the team, yet we’re sadly lacking someone to hold the ref to account. We’re all up in arms about some absolutely scandalous refereeing, yet you wouldn’t know it based on our players reactions.
