It says a lot about Dawson that he hasn't got a thread in this section despite the likes of Wague and Aias having one. I was surprised to find out yesterday that Dawson and Chalobah played together (at least twice) in the England U21s. I was also surprised to see Dawson had 6 goals in 15 England U21 games (I think he was their penalty taker too).
Obviously been a lot of talk about Dawson supposedly not being willing to play which came from louhorns on twitter. Searched his name on twitter tonight to see if any rumours about interested clubs had come out and came across this: He goes on to say in a later tweet that he is a close friend of Dawson. Who knows what to believe but we should maybe hold off writing him off just yet.
The problem with people like louhorns is that either like a broken clock which is right twice a day, they occasionally get something right; or they got a snippet of info once and then they claim to be ITK. In all of my time as a fan, the only information I got early due to a chance conversation was about a day or two before we sold Darren Ward, circa 2003 ish, that we'd accepted an offer for him.
I think louorns definitely has honest intentions, and has access to more information it seems than the average fan (based on the Glenn Murray signing) but don't think his source(s) is 100% accurate and hopefully this is an instance of him not being accurate.
Sooooo, the interest in Estupinan is genuine, but Dawson is staying? Great, that's just great! Dunno, him and Cathcart really are much of a muchness (Dawson slightly better last season although he was no great cop until the restart), I'd prefer someone left-footed and more comfortable with the ball, but I guess players like that are kind of rare
Agreed. I also think (and maybe it is not the case with this one) that it’s tricky reporting on transfer gossip because things can change. Look at the info Louorns shared about Grimes. Gets slated as being BS, but maybe the club just moved onto different targets or baulked at Swansea’s asking price. We’ll never know but from the outside looking in it’s easy to say “ah that’s BS.” Can also happen with outgoings. He (or an ITK or a reporter etc) can hear that the club’s plan is to keep Sarr or Estupinan or Suarez but maybe a sizeable bid changes things. Maybe the player’s preferences change. I would always rather people share what they hear.
We don't know that for sure. He seemed to be correct on Estupinan to Villareal which he also put on his Twitter on Friday night at a similar time. Still a chance he could be right on this.
Most of these twitter ITKs just spend 24-7 trawling social media and repeating ad nauseam everything they read to their acolytes who fawn at every ridiculous story
Deletes the ones that are wrong and keeps the ones that are right, so can turn around and say look I have been ITK for years
I am not saying he doesnt have a source and knows nothing but the news broke from Villareal sources before he posted.
Apparently we'd agreed a fee of £2m with West Ham to sell them Dawson, but ExWHUemployee says it ended up a loan move because (a) West Ham wanted to offer him a shorter contract than he had with Watford and (b) the backlash from West Ham fans filtered through to their board. https://www.hammers.news/club-news/...-west-ham-didnt-sign-30-year-old-permanently/
So we sign him for £5.5m only a year ago, but agree to sell for £2m now!! Good business.....for West Brom and West Ham. We've lost £3.5m on him over the course of one season.
Craig "too good for the Championship" Dawson getting his first start tonight for West Ham... For their u21s in the Papa John Pizza Cup against Peterborough. https://twitter.com/WestHam/status/1336369956464648192?s=20
Wham going to cancel season-long loan and he will be back at The Vic in Jan. So that's good news then.
And we got relegated in the process, because our owners thought he would be good enough to repair the long standing issues with our defence, so they could spunk 35m on a luxury winger, who gives you 4 good games per season. Masterstroke.
Doing his best to make Adams look even more like Deeney there. Another take on it here https://twitter.com/WestHamClips/status/1344246925881729027
Lol that's now Berghuis, Pussetto and Dawson who went from looking utterly useless to okay footballers as soon as they left Watford.
