Swansea have done some good business. Cardiff signing Wilson from Liverpool was good business for them. Bournemouth hopeful they got the paperwork done in time for Carters-Vickers. Forest sign Knockhaert, can we bring Britos back for that game. Blackburn have done some good business also. Norwich retain Cantwell, Aarons and Buendia. Brentford look like they have retained Benrahma, unless that’s changed since me typing this.

Definitely not going to be a walk in the park for us this season. It’s really all going to be about us not having many injuries in key positions. Our starting 11 is very good for this league. It’s the backs up that concern me. We really have to hope that Sarr doesn’t get injured.

**** me, it really does seem like West Ham are being cheap! Apparently they have until 7 to complete a loan, dunno if it'll happen or not (I guess not), but ffs, how much time do you need? You've had MONTHS to do this deal!

Swansea might be about to lose Rodon, but have got in a lad from City as a 'replacement'

Forest actually looking okay now, with a decent attack. Grosicki will do well, I think. Hughton a good manager at this level, too.

Benrahma completed his move to West Ham. £5m loan with £20m obligation to buy and another £5m of potential add ons.

Think they got the Wolves lad Bennett too

That is a good signing for them, they are looking strong. This whole 'appoint an England youth manager to get loads of good players in' seems to be working, time to get Boothroyd back? ;)

As has been commented upon by many already, the quality of the Championship really does seem poor.

However, one thing which seems to be contributing to that is the pitches - maybe others observed differently, but it appeared the grass on the Derby pitch was left rather long, which definitely seemed to slow the game down and made passing on the ground more difficult. With the Boro game I think it was also commented on that they'd not been watering the pitch so as to slow things down.

It seems to be intentional by more clogger teams with less quality, and definitely doesn't help the spectacle.

Think you mean Sheff Weds? I agree about last night anyway. Both sides were struggling with it but we have to assume it was the home team’s deliberate decision.

Bristol City winning though. Taken them 10 minutes of the second half to turn it around.

Are we worried about Bristol City yet? I'm sure even they weren't expecting this start

Given Ivic has made the defence solid, once Capoue and Hughes are back I don't think I would worry about anyone else.

They have a very good side that massively underperformed last season. Didn't think Holden was the guy to do it, but what do I know.

A mixed set of results, good to see Bournemouth and Swansea drop points, could have done without Brentford and Norwich winning (especially as Norwich shouldn't have won that), but at least they're already behind us. Of the teams who are up there at the moment, Stoke did the Lord's work by beating the scum (not that I think they'll be anywhere near the top at the end of the season), Bristol City and Reading draw, and our next opponents Blackburn lose 0-1 at home to Chris Hughton's Nottingham Forest for their first win for God knows how long. I'll take all that I suppose

No 100% records any more - our next two opponents get disappointing results - we are above LTFC and nicley placed in 5th - time to push on - COYH

I reformed the junior committee at the club and Gary kindly hosted.
He is a Hammer and so is his son Jon Luca but Jon Luca has uncles on his mother's side who are st holders at The Kennel.
On leaving Gary said JL was watching Loon and would I like to join him?!
I declined politely, rather wish I'd accepted now!

I was speaking to a Derby, Coventry and Blackburn fan today and they all think not only are we the best team in the league this year, but ours is the best squad ever to play in the championship. And it seems to be a common school of thought.

    Crikey!

Think they’ve had quite a kind fixture list. Stoke are the only team they’ve played who are currently in the top half. Championship is quite a streaky league isn’t it? Teams seem to go on long winning runs.

If no one else leaves it's sensational. Impossible to score against and two world class players in forward positions. If we can get through the next transfer window unscathed we will effortlessly win the biggest trophy in our history.

And it's a real beauty of a trophy too, steeped in history.

Such a shame football is currently completely meaningless.
