Almost as dire as the Boro' lineup, but wait Cathcart is on the bench. What has Sarr done to not even make the travelling team? Is he getting shipped off to pastures scouse?
I'm sure it's a massive coincidence that any player linked with a move away today isn't involved with the squad and picked up injuries in the week. Just a coincidence.
That subs bench says it all. I said all along I'd wait until the end of the window before judging it but to be left with this squad is a joke.
Why are we playing that squad , am i missing something , are we now making money by betting on the other team
So when Capoue was fit to play, we didn’t select him. Now he is allowed to play, he gets an injury. Sarr not selected because he was away on international duty, but his match was actually postponed. Not even considered for the bench. But of course this has nothing to do with the fact he might have been sold today. Sema starts though, even though his international match wasn’t called off. No left sided defender. No out and out forward. I’ve no doubt that one day, hopefully fairly soon, we will be able to field a strong line up. But it’s not happening yet and the matches are passing us by.
It's a combination of damn rotten luck and Ivic' pioneering tactic of only wanting players in the main group who are not attractive to potential buyers or on high wages.
Really clever from Gino. Doesn’t make sense to play Sarr or Capoue while the Russian transfer window is open, and risk injuring high-value assets ahead of potentially money-spinning loan moves. He’s made Palace look like absolute mugs for thinking we’d buckle at the last minute.
It's not like nobody told you this could happen, as you celebrated our owners for leaving us with a squad like this.
Some of us were maybe being negative early, but it was just all so predicatable. Its the same story with them every time.
Craptastic is too generous a term for that team sheet. The saving grace is that Derby also appear to be a pile of cold manure.
Yep. I'm just glad I didn't waste 2 pages humiliating myself by baiting you with strawmen, just hours before this side was announced.
Agree the bench is woeful. But please explain why you genuinely believe the club 'deliberately excluded' those 2? Sarr arrived back from Africa yesterday, and Capoue has taken a knock in training. We've seen clear evidence from Ivic that he doesn't like releasing potential team info leading up to a match to keep the opposition in the dark, so as much as we'd all love to know this info earlier, if Ivic believes not releasing this info until the last minute to perhaps give the team some sort of edge that's the way its gonna be.
Why do I believe they are deliberately excluded? Because I've been paying attention to the format this season and I'm not a complete idiot.
That’s easy to answer. We were hoping someone would offer us £50mil for him. So his future was in the balance.
Derby have no excuses, but we are going to draw and lose more this season with that squad. HMSPissTheLeauge? Lifeboats at the ready.
Help me out 'Cos I can’t be arsed to google it.. recall going to Pride Park in our Championship hey days and watched a stunning strike from one of their defenders/ midfielder...Huddlestone wad a babe in the team then...who was it? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Sorry? We have 10 senior players unavailable and our starting XI is still very strong. If you're expecting our bench to be the same quality with 10 players out then I'm no wonder you're always so upset...
Yeah right. Like the club would ever admit a couple of weeks ago that they have been excluding players because they want to leave/looking to sell. You're acting like the coach explicitly said these things in a press conference. You deluded fool.
Excellent starting XI, with our back up right back in at left wing back, no proper striker (again), and a midfield three of Cleverley, Chalobah and Quina. Quality stuff.
So what would be the strategy behind deliberately keeping Sarr and Capoue out of the squad, from Gino's point of view? To protect them for sales in January? You know it's in his best interest for us to go back up, right?
Imagine being in an emergency 4 games into the season with your window to rectify having slammed **** just hours previous! Such rotten luck.
Quite! Thankfully our squad depth means despite having 10 senior players out we still don't need to start the youth players just yet.
