My best friend is a Brighton fan and his family are all season ticket holders. They have raved about Roberts being by far and away their best defensive prospect for a couple of years already and he’s only 18. Left-footed, natural CB but has played as a LB for their youth sides and England at youth levels. Made his debut in the week against Preston in the Carabao Cup and Brighton are looking to loan him out in the Championship. Potter has spoken about him a few times this summer as one to watch - and Leeds have had a bid turned down already according to The Athletic. Also looked at by Brentford, Mainz and RB Leipzig. https://www.sussexlive.co.uk/sport/...aydon-roberts-leeds-brighton-transfer-4529758
Can someone clarify the transfer deadline rules for me please? I understand that there is a so-called International Deadline on October 5th and a Domestic Deadline on October 16th but I've also read that Premier League clubs cannot buy or sell after the 5th October? I'm hoping that Premier League clubs can't come in and buy say, Sarr or Delefeou after 5th October but is this the case or do we have to wait anxiously until the 16th before we can breathe a sigh of relief? Thanks.
If we do lose Suraez then I think we should put a bid in for Adam Armstrong from Blackburn, he is carrying on his good form from last year
Ryan Sessengnon likely to be loaned to Brighton, with Southampton, Hertha Berlin and Leeds also keen apparently.
Bad news for those hoping Deeney or Gray go to WBA. SSN saying they are far down the line in negotiations with Karlan Grant over an initial loan which gets made permanent for £18m should they not be relegated. Seems a dodgy deal for Huddersfield to me.
Very dodgy, West Brom are long odds to stay up, and come next season, Huddersfield could find it more difficult to get that kind of money. Exciting signing for West Brom, a very good Championship striker who did well in that half season for Huddersfield when they were struggling badly, not sure he'll be the difference between survival and relegation though
Others have addressed this elsewhere, but as well as LWB. which is the other position which people think Vlad wants to sign a player for?
Leventhal said again LCB. But Ivic also said today that his options at CB are complete so can’t see it unless Dawson leaves. I think the two positions he wants are players he feels he needs regardless of unexpected outgoings. So CM does make the most sense I think.
I suppose it depends on if he is wedded to the 3 at the back, or if it is a result of our lack of real wide players (and a left back). If he wants to play with a back 4 we need both a left back and a left winger. If the plan is to stick with a back 3 - I guess it will be another defensive midfielder to cover Chalobah, as I am not convinced Dele Bashiru is suited to the role, although it would be a pity to block the pathways of Quina and TDB.
If we buy an LB we could play Sema at left wing and Sarr on the right. But our squad isn't well geared up for this. Buying an LB/LWB gives cover and more options in formation for sure.
This isn't true, we'd just need a left back. Joao Pedro's current best position is as a winger/wide attacker on the left of a 4-3-3, Ivic has even said so himself, so he'd go there. Sema could also do a job there if necessary.
I'm not debating that, but then that means our current striker isn't playing up top. Do you want murray to top?
It would be Gray as the CF, with Perica as second choice. Both will be back after the international break. Deeney would be 2nd or 3rd choice if he stays. Murray is our last choice CF, so if playing only 1 up top we're unlikely to have to need him starting. Worst case, if all 3 of Gray, Perica and Deeney are unavailable, Ivic could put JP at CF and Sema LW for one game, or go back to 532 for one game, but it's unlikely to come to that very often. Playing just 1 CF and 1 LW, having JP and Sema as our LW options is absolutely fine.
Agree with this. I'd have Femenia as a backup winger to Sarr on the other side. Ngakia and Janmaat (lol) as our Wing backs
Seemingly going to Olympiakos on loan - but Ruben Vinagre from Wolves would have been a good addition at LWB.
