Watford Fc 1-0 Luton Town - 26/09/2020

The pre match narrative was about whether our talented yet mercenary squad would be up for this game like Luton’s pub team cloggers. In reality we were more up for it and (of course) far more talented. Scoreline massively flattered the scum.

Highlights:

• Our 19 yo Brazilian wonder kid outmuscling the scum CB clogger
• Deeney coming on and barging their thuggish player who tried to assault Ngakia

We are so far ahead of the scum even if we have to spend one season in the same league.

 

Darren Bazeley is still welcome round my place any time for a BJ.

Bundle of nerves before this one, but a Kaba brain fart aside that was about as comfortable as it gets. I'm normally positive about our fortunes but the last few weeks with transfer rumours and missing players was really starting to test my faith. Sod all of that we beat the filthy vile racists from up the motorway, and in the words of one of their towns most famous sons by the end of this evening I will be very, very drunk.

Final post for today - and a short one.

But not only was I beyond happy about today’s result, I’ve equally enjoyed the ‘atmosphere’ of the forum today. We all spend a fair bit of our time here and while it’s great that we all express our opinions however much they differ, it’s hard when they are so polarising.

Today has been amazing from both camps and reminded me why I support the club so deeply.

Looks like Vlad started by coaching the defenders into how to defend, especially at set pieces, and how to work our own set pieces. Now he's worked with them on how to move the ball forward from defence and keep possession. Hopefully he'll now start drilling them on creating chances.

Nah, no one could've got that bunch of wetwipes to stay up.

 

I still find it remarkable Pearson got us relegated after the start he had. Vlad might not have won the same points initially but might not have been as abject as Pearson was after the restart.

 

Did they ever leave it? Don't flatter them.

 

Really not sure I’d blame Pearson myself but football is a game of differing opinions, I guess.

 

Its a difficult one, but his start was sensational, and then after the restart we were poor. I will give him credit for the former, but something went spectacularly wrong after the restart, and he must surely share some of the blame.

 

Hopefully a performance that makes players say "you know what... I want to be a part of that".
