The pre match narrative was about whether our talented yet mercenary squad would be up for this game like Luton’s pub team cloggers. In reality we were more up for it and (of course) far more talented. Scoreline massively flattered the scum. Highlights: Our 19 yo Brazilian wonder kid outmuscling the scum CB clogger Deeney coming on and barging their thuggish player who tried to assault Ngakia We are so far ahead of the scum even if we have to spend one season in the same league.
We have a table for 12 reserved for Moog, Shaun and Merdisi are already here. Can you check on Nath? He locked himself in a cubicle since 2.30.
Bundle of nerves before this one, but a Kaba brain fart aside that was about as comfortable as it gets. I'm normally positive about our fortunes but the last few weeks with transfer rumours and missing players was really starting to test my faith. Sod all of that we beat the filthy vile racists from up the motorway, and in the words of one of their towns most famous sons by the end of this evening I will be very, very drunk.
I really am finding it hard to find reasons not to give Deeney a new 120k p/w 5 year deal at this point.
Very very strange that there didn't seem to be much hangover from the devastating League Cup defeat. Very strange indeed.
Maybe just enjoy the result mate rather than trawling the thread for posts trying to prove a point? Fairly certain anyone who was overly concerned about matters has conceded by this point?
Joao Pedro tweet from yesterday: Literal translation: 'Im going to sleep now because tomorrow is the day' Cometh the hour, cometh the man! #JP10
Very very strange everyone’s been United and happy until you’ve come along? Be happy and rejoice in the result rather than trying to score points against other forum members maybe?
Final post for today - and a short one. But not only was I beyond happy about today’s result, I’ve equally enjoyed the ‘atmosphere’ of the forum today. We all spend a fair bit of our time here and while it’s great that we all express our opinions however much they differ, it’s hard when they are so polarising. Today has been amazing from both camps and reminded me why I support the club so deeply.
Well that was far easier than expected, absolute gulf in class. That Bible bashing gnome Jones is a nauseating little tool. How on earth does he inspire anyone? Some sort of attempt to protect his players, but made himself look incapable of motivating them for their biggest game of the decade. Back in your box, you horrible little club.
I'm enjoying it very much. Thanks for your advice but I'll do as I please, cheers. Fairly certain we both know what'll happen after our first defeat. 2 wins and a draw with 0 goals conceded, with a long injury list and players wanting/needing to be sold. Great season so far, have a great weekend all!
And fair play to the clappers for being far more gracious than you and your cohort would have been. Don't want to derail a thread with you again so I'll leave it there. Goodnight!
Looks like Vlad started by coaching the defenders into how to defend, especially at set pieces, and how to work our own set pieces. Now he's worked with them on how to move the ball forward from defence and keep possession. Hopefully he'll now start drilling them on creating chances.
Hold on, it's all 'banta' isn't it? No one's really a bedwetter or happyclapper are they? I thought it was just the new jokey thing we do here
I still find it remarkable Pearson got us relegated after the start he had. Vlad might not have won the same points initially but might not have been as abject as Pearson was after the restart.
TBH Bet the Luton players were more up for playing Man U in the cup and getting a few shirts to keep than today. Whereas we had a week's rest and it showed.
Corr, great result only just got in. The Scum looked pony, only had half a chance against us due to a Kabs screw up. We were the better team throughout and deserved the points. Back in our shadow.
Its a difficult one, but his start was sensational, and then after the restart we were poor. I will give him credit for the former, but something went spectacularly wrong after the restart, and he must surely share some of the blame.
