As a flag waver remind me again how awful the Pozzos are. Unbeaten in the league. Above scum town Just beaten the scum in the league, at home, for the first time in 30 odd years First win against them since 1997 ( I may be wrong about this too much sun and Prosecco) 2 wins and a draw so far Played a debatably strong team against our rivals Hired a hard manager who gets 1-0 wins. Beats the bin divers 1-0 can we give them a little slack now ???
Also, give Troy a new 5 year deal for the sh*thousery at the end and making that L*ton player throwing his weight around look silly.
Pick better players, get a better performance.......what a shock to find that out. Makes such a difference having a player of Sarr's ability to call on. Great seeing Deeney coming on too. Dare I say he'll be part of it now?? I can only prey to the football gods on that one. No Murray, and our attacks have purpose. Only negative is that our lack of cutting edge could have cost us again. We've got to start taking these chances. The game was nervy at the end and it shouldn't have been. We're not going to keep a clean sheet in every game. Only two goals scored in three games, and that has to improve. Defence has been pretty perfect, although Luton should have scored. That was a big let off for us. I liked those triangular passes in the first half. That was very effective. We need another option in midfield though. Chalobah played better today, but both him and Cleverley are not going to stay injury free. Garner was good in patches and Dele-Bashiru did well once he got into the game. I thought Ken and Ngakia were superb and were the star men. Great to see Pedro score his first goal for the club which will give him confidence. 7 points from 3 games and we're nowhere near at full strength yet. That bodes well.
Nah we’re good! Not a day to try and split the fanbase if you ask me so let’s just not bother? Happy to let the clappers have this one and ride their coattails personally!
Got to say as well, for all the crap the Luton manager mentioned about 'Watford's Italians', only one side looked like they were up for a derby match. I'd be embarrassed watching that as a Luton fan. Their midfield were overran by kids and Joao Pedro was bullying their defenders all game.
The Hive broadcast kept banging on about an exclusive, special announcement to be made next week against Reading. Any ideas?
I went there once for an interview for a job as a consultant. Luton town centre. First thing I saw as I parked, an actual person diving into a wheelie bin - I’m not joking. I moved streets to park I didn’t think it was literal that they are bin divers
Absolutely, our rag tag clan have been together for a few weeks whereas there squad has been together for 2 seasons.
There can't be many players who have scored their first goal for Watford, and the winner, and against L***n, on their birthday. Definitely deserves a statue
Massive performance today, and so refreshing to see each of them up for it and giving their all for the shirt. We could, and should have won that far more comfortably. Credit to Ivic, because we look properly coached for the first time in a long while. Our pressing was superb today, and each player was clear on how we’d put them under pressure with our shape off the ball. The number of times we forced them into hopeless punts forward, or into poor passes from the back that we picked off was the result of genuine coaching and effort on the training pitch. We need a defender who is comfortable on the ball. We need reinforcements in central midfield. Sema was outstanding today. Looked out of his depth in the Premier League, but he’s very good at this level. Chalobah much better, so hopefully his injury isn’t serious. I’d expect a few weeks though. TBD got better and looks a talent, but we can’t afford to have him and Garner learning together for too many games. Garner started slow, grew into the game and wasn’t afraid to get stuck in. Needs to look after the ball better. It’s not U23 football and being casual will cost. Promising though. Cleverley was really good. Lack of pace isn’t as evident at this level and he led by example. Fair play to him. Proving me wrong. Joao Pedro is quality. Much stronger on the ball, not afraid to mix it up with defenders and full of running. Helped by having Sarr with him, who terrified the defenders without doing too much. Some lovely touches and will win us games by himself if he sticks around. Ngakia was my MOM. Destroyer of left backs. Such speed and quality on the ball makes him a brilliant outlet. Great signing. Finally some signs of the team Ivic wants to build. If we play like that more often than not, especially if we’re more ruthless, we will smash some teams. All is good in the world.
As much as I want Troy phased out, seeing that scummer turn around and melt once he realized it was the big man was worth every penny we pay him.
This is going to be one heck of a good side when its clicked and gelled and clicked some more. We’re all Watford supporters so it’s not a day to gloat over the bed wetters, okay then just a little bit Every player was brilliant, as bad a DM as Cleverley is, put him further forward and he defends from the front and makes it all tick. Ngakia.. just wow. Sema.. why did we waste a year by sending him to Udinese? Garner and Chalobah oozed class. Sarr is going to torture this league. Another impressive performance from Pedro. The back 3 get caught from time to time but you can’t argue with 3 clean sheets It’s hard to pick a motm. What a great day
Feel sorry for the **** Deeney gave whiplash to. Wait.. Do i ****!!!! little gypo ***** deserved a broken neck
Whats happened to them? Fans seem rational, there players seemed sporting helping with Pedro's cramp, and their bloke fist bumping Nate on his way off.
I think wing-back is the perfect role for him tbf - he lacks the attributes to be a good Premier League winger - he's not an elite dribbler, he's not an elite crosser, he's not got electric pace - there's nothing outstanding about his game. He's pretty average at all of them - which means you simply won't be starting in that role as a PL footballer as there (should be) better options on the teamsheet. However as a wing-back - all of those attributes suddenly become more than adequate - which combined with his work-rate means it's a no brainer. Masina will find it hard to displace him when he comes back.
They have at last realized their place in the footballing universe I expect. Next weeks football announcement is twenty per cent off all mugs and badges in the club shop.
