He played further forward during his best spell there. Was moving up the field from LB to LW and even more attacking much like Bale - and then that was stifled by the awful PL season Fulham had and going a bit stale at Spurs.

Yea but I imagine Spurs will want to loan him out for experience as a LB.

All irrelevant anyway, he won't be coming here surely.

You have to wonder whether there are actually any irons in fires for new blood at this point in time. Just all seems so quiet.

I miss the days when there were some ITK rumours knocking about.

Then again, for those to be doing the rounds, the club usually has to be active.

It’s like the only actually confirmed Stevenson because Vlad wanted to use him!

    Harry Wilson, anyone?

I’d definitely take him. I think he got 18 goals when on loan at Derby 2 seasons ago. Great set piece taker and scores from outside the box - we haven’t been able to do either in recent years. But I think the implicit question is: would you be happy replacing Sarr with Wilson. Not sure. Obviously would rather keep Sarr, but if he leaves, who would we be able to bring in that would do better than Wilson. If Sarr does want to go to Liverpool I’d be reasonably happy with £30-35m + Wilson.

Impressive for Derby in the Championship, 7 goals I believe for Muff. Good at set pieces.
But I thought Premier league clubs has shown interest in him.

Seems to only deal with the spectacular, with his free kicks and long shots, but other than that, I can't remember him doing much, even in the Championship. Still, that's something we've been missing over the past few years, and, well, it's pointless trying to compare him to Sarr, for whom there is no like for like replacement in terms of ability

Furiously resisting the urge to like this in the hope Quina comes good with a good midfield behind/beside him!

He will come good. He's going to be inconsistent due to his age and position he plays in.

We could do worse in midfield then bringing back Ben Watson, currently a free and played quite well for Forrest last year. I guess it would depend if Capoue was sold. Not a player for the PL if we get promoted but would do a job in the Championship.

The exact sort of player we need.

He'd be a better nostalgia option than Forestieri, and I know we've got Glenn Murray, but...he's 35, surely there are better options available?

(Would probably be the first one to buy his shirt if he came though lol)

    Who I’d want to offload:
Deeney, Sinclair, Welbeck, Janmaat, Navarro, Penaranda, Pereyra, Success

Players I think we will actually lose:
Hughes, Capoue, Deulofeu, Femenia, Pereyra, Pussetto, Sarr, Suarez

I can’t help but really worry we’re going to be seriously lacking quality by the time the window closes. But we won’t be lacking a huge wage bill.

    Prediction:
So many of the players who have been left out of the squad will be warming to the idea of leaving. Say we need to make another 40 million. It'll come to near deadline day and teams will panic buy. Deeney will go to WBA, Pererya back to Italy, Deulofeu to Napoli etc. That's job done- 40+ million in the bank and huge savings on wages.

The problem we now have is all of the other players that were left out and given the impression they would leave. This results in the likes of Suarez, Hughes, Capoue, Sarr, maybe even Dawson, Femenia and Masina being annoyed and wanting out. Pozzo then caves to player power and we're left with exactly the same squad we've seen so far. Mid-table beckons.

It's all good though, as Gino nets over £100 million in transfer fees. Clappers rejoice.

Left-footed CB Scott McKenna of Aberdeen, who’s also got leadership capabilities, is understood to be the subject of a ‘significant’ bid by an English club as confirmed by their manager. Club is rumoured to be Notts Forest...

We could be guilty of daydreaming whilst another goes here.

Can't find a fee for this deal, but supposedly he's been subject to £7m and £10m bids in the past, I wonder if the Forest bid is in excess of those, or whether he had gone 'stale' in the ensuing couple of years like Doucoure for us. As nice as he would be, I don't see us spending £10m+ on prime Maldini in this state! I also wonder how good he'd be at Championship level, there's a step up from Scotland, and even if he's a good defender, he could be a donkey with the ball at his feet, which isn't really what we want now

Interesting to see the Aberdeen board, staff and social media team be a lot more up front in communicating to their fans, never get that with us!

Scott McKenna was one of my multiple suggestions.

They are saying significant bid but I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s something like £5mil rising to £8mil.

Disappointed that we are not in for him if my guess is right. If he’s going for £10mil+ then he’s not worth it.

Very good defender, has all the potential to be a £20mil CB one day. However if he’s costing forest £10mil+ then they can have him. Has had some injury issues in the past, hopefully he has put them behind him.

    I just hope that if we’re not in for him, then we have our eyes on one of my other options;

    Ben Davies (Preston)
    Clarke-Salter (Chelsea)
    Jhon Lucumi (Genk)

Outside of those three, I really don’t see any other left footed CB’s that would be in our price range and immediately make us better. The only other hope we have is if some of the left footed CB’s in the Bundesliga, Ligue 1 or Serie A, fancy stepping down a division in the hope of helping us get promoted. Personally just don’t see that happening.

There are lots of young left footed CB’s with bags of potential out there, but none that would fill me with confidence as a starter.

If we don’t sign McKenna or any of those three above, then Gino will be pulling a rabbit out of a hat.

Chelsea looking to loan at Salter-Clarke out, would be ideal as others have suggested.

While I’d rather have him than nothing at all, I really would hope we are looking to get someone permanently as opposed to a loan.

We could always chuck a cheeky loan to buy option in like we did with Garner.

No need mate. All we need is a short-term solution and then we can re-sign Mapps once we’ve been promoted.

Mapps needs a five year deal immediately if you ask me. Surely he’s got a queue of PL suitors already.

Looking like we're spending zero this window, so a loan with options are the only way we're going at the moment.

My brief assessment of him two weeks ago was:

"McKenna looks really slow and might have dodgy hamstrings. Celtic and Villa have tried to sign him in the last year so must have something about him, but not sure."

    http://wfcforums.com/index.php?threads/transfer-suggestions.54511/page-64#post-2896381

There isn't much info on him to go on, but he really did seem very slow. It would be enough to make me doubt that he'd ever be a decent CB at PL level.
