Capoue was alright. Doucoure was anonymous.

Is it better or worse than other clubs, Burnley aside? Don't most clubs have debt but the assets outstrip the debt so it's not so much of an issue. Is it Man Utd that have debts in the hundreds of millions? Do we have external debt because our owner doesn't have the money to fund us personally? I believe Brighton for instance are £200m+ in debt but all to Tony Bloom
These are all genuine questions as I don't fully understand accounts/finances etc.

Yes I think it would be the same for most clubs post relegation. The difference for us is we owe it externally rather than to owners because we don't have (relatively speaking) wealthy owners. Many premier league clubs have large debts but they are "internal" so to speak.

Yes we can sell 4/5 of our players and clear the debt, but that will effectively leave us with a championship squad and still quite a lot of low value players on high wages (and sometimes long contracts). And it may well be the reality of the situation that this is the course we have to follow.

As mentioned on another thread I can't be critical of the sales (Capoue aside). But I am critical of the many mistakes that got us into this situation in the first place. Our hope if we can keep them is Pedro/Suarez/Estupian. And I have a feeling Gray will find his feet again at this level.

An extremely odd individual. Still tweets like he’s part of the inner sanctum at the club - with occasional outbursts. And has all his tweets set up to auto-delete after a few hours.

Capoue was alright. But still a total shadow of what he can do. As has been said time and again, Hughes was the only player to come out with any credit after the Liverpool game - the rest were garbage by their own individual standards.

It’s not much worse - and it was nothing to fear so long as we sustained PL football. I think we can maintain a year of running similar to how we were and just offloading a couple of players to keep the finances ticking over. But if we don’t get promoted at the first time of asking, I suspect the squad rotation will be huge.

well their previous article saying it was basically done and dusted on a loan deal with no future fee obviously was ****.

One thing I'll agree with you on is that Sportwitness are pretty much clueless so best ignore any clickbait article they post.

i hate their writing style as well. the only thing good about them is they actually show up some of these articles from other countries, but the majority of what they post is utter drivel. the thing that really gets me is when they put transfer values in the title and then go 'according to transfermarket.net' etc.

    very true.

valencia - we want him. we dont want to pay anything.
    watford - well, no.
valencia - yes. we will get local journos to put pressure on the player by saying how much we want him for nothing.
    watford - fine.
valencia after several days of no movement - oh come on pretty please.

Transfermarket.net might be useful for some things, but estimated values are not one of those things

Doucoure may be undervalued, but he's still worth more than L*ton Town FC :D

Rodrigo to Leeds for the best part of £30m is now confirmed, may well free up some funds for Valencia to move on Capoue or Suarez

If only we were still in the PL, we could have done this deal. But wouldn't have. Obviously.

Capoue maybe, Suarez I’d still say it’s unlikely. Rodrigo has been sold because they need money but not for transfers.

So he is. Thought he was a couple of years younger. Serves me right for nor watching La Liga for a couple of years!

Hope he flops, obviously. Can't stand Leeds as a club.
