He's still an Argentina international. He looks bad for us because he's surrounded by dog eggs and is being managed by a dinosaur. There is not a chance he'd go to a dreadful side like udinese. Why would he join the italian equivalent of us?
He might return to Italy. I am sure his dream is to go back to River Plate. I don't think he will be an international for much longer although Scaloni has a liking for him. Too many younger players are pushing the older members of the Argentina squad out of the side. Scaloni prefers a more energetic and dynamic midfield.
Agreed he looks bad for us, that's not just because of the dog eggs as you say. His heart isn't in it and it's there for everybody to see. Can you honestly say be makes a difference whether we gave a dinosaur manager or is still an international. I personally was amazed when we signed him but he's never really been the gifted danger man I expected.
Whilst I think he will likely move on, I think a big part of it will depend who are manager is. If Pearson stays, in certain he will go. It won’t be to Udinese though, no chance.
Yes he is. He's too good for us too, all he does is see balls sailing over his head to Deeney. Imagine training with Messi, Aguero, Dybala & Lautaro in lovely sunshine and coming back to rainy London Colney with Deeney, Gray, Welbeck & Success. His attitude is **** and that is wrong as a professional footballer but I don't fully blame him tbh.
Have you seen his Instagram videos from inside his house? Looks like our tightarse club have put him up in one of the flats in the radlett road estate, no wonder he's desperate to leave our tinpot club. Poor ****.
Don't ask me how I know but he lives in St Johns Wood in London - so he already lives somewhere posh!
Thanks I guess, even before this season he was a bit of a disappointment compared to what we were hoping from him (not that it's all been his fault), although he's definitely had his moments in a Watford shirt
Clearly on holiday somewhere enjoying life going by his social media. I presume he will be off once they return back to training.
Never the same after the injury, his first game for us he was everywhere on the pitch and making things happen. Lost all the urgency and passion from his game.
The textbook pozzo signing. We could only sign him from a club like Juventus for the fee we paid because despite having obvious talent, there was questionable application. He was incredible in the Wolves game last season, but for every game like that there were 6/7 where he was anonymous. It would take quite some manager to get better performances out of him more regularly.
Will be glad to see the back of him at this point. Not sure how much of his decline is mental v.s. physical but no one could dispute that hes been a shadow of his former self for the past 18 months Thanks for the memories Tuco, was arguably our best player for a couple of seasons.
One of the most frustrating players for me. Undoubtedly has talent but he rarely showed it. Looked to me like he was way to scared at getting injured. Sooner has gone the better.
I think he probably needs some support for the mental side of his game, he was never the same since his injury.
One of the first on the list that needs to go. I am of the belief that he is the most technically gifted player at our club. However, I have no time for a player who won't bust a gut and put his body on the line for the team. Whether that is related to the rehab from his injury or whether he's just not arsed, I don't care anymore. We have seen the dreadful effects of playing passengers and weak-minded individuals in our starting XI.
Na, I don’t buy this. I’d say Pereyra has contributed more defensively than any other winger at the club over the past 5 years. That isn’t the hallmark of a passenger. He genuinely gets stuck in, tracks back and makes tackles like no one else. He was even at it against Man City in the penultimate game of the season. The problem is since his knee injury he’s had zero pace going forward. He looks after the ball better than anyone at the club - which tallies with your view he’s the most technically gifted player. And put him up against a Huddersfield or Wolves and he looks top class. But you can’t play dumpers every day and a couple of worldies aside he’s not offered enough at PL level for too long. I’ve no fuss waving him off but I’ll always see him as a class above powder-puff wingers like Jurado or ineffective ones like Amrabat.
Special discount for our Italian friends. Just £40m. He's a current argentinian international y'know. All transfers must be at arms length for tax purposes.
He always did put in a few tackles, but he just looked completely ineffective as a winger with that lack of real pace. At least in the case of Pereyra and Jurado, it's not their preferred position, Amrabat, as much as he put in a shift, just had absolutely no end product whatsoever
His peak was the first half v Hull where he had their full back on toast every time. Then his trick of push him away and run eventually was sussed and faded badly second half after he was booked for using that trick ever time.
Yeah, he also had the trick where he would grab the defenders shirt and pull it close to his body and then pull the defender on top of him so as to look like he’d been shoved over.
I don't agree. I've seen him bottle so many challenges from my seat in the SEJ stand. It's so frustrating. As a supporter, I cannot accept that. Agree that he's had very little pace since his injury though.
When he came on for Argentina the urgency was there and the desire to get stuck in. So to me it's clearly a case of he did not want to be here and was not even playing remotely like he could. A shame because he is a very good player and given his background I would not have expected it of him. That said he was still trying to get involved and defend and showed desire against Abu Dhabi. He needs to adjust his game because the pace and initial acceleration which has served him well in the past is gone.
