Was speaking to a Cambridge fan and he made a very interesting point about attendance
capacity for next season . If teams can only have 20% or 40% capacity then it will affect
those less who do not fill their ground. For example Cambridge average gate is less than
50% of their capacity so their financial loss will be less than those who fill their stadiums.

It’s a good point, I guess the ‘sleeping giants’ with the big stadiums won’t really be affected as they’ll be able to space their attendances out, whereas a club like us will definitely be affected with such a small ground not allowing for the lower attendances relegation would bring anyway. That said parachute money (while we’re getting it) still trumps everything else anyway.

My sister and brother-in-law, both regular home and away supporters, are friends with a neighbour who is the security manager at the Emirates Stadium. He told them that due to the design of the stadium they would be limited to crowds of 7,000 !

He reckoned that we would probably, due to the ground design, be able to get at least 7,000 if not more !

Is that because we have four separate stands and they have a bowl?

I presume that could be the reason.

We only have one stand (Graham Taylor) with two tiers, whereas the Emirates has two upper tiers which may not be able to be used.

    That's my guess.

I Could be wrong, but the way I read it I think Davy is saying the opposite to what you are saying a19tgg?

It is the clubs that normally have full capacity that will suffer the most proportionally, because they will only be allowed to allow 20/40% of their capacity into their stadium rather than 100% they normally have. Whereas smaller clubs who's normal attendance might only be 20/40% of their grounds capacity would actually have the same revenue as they normally have, as they will only have to spread the crowd out around the stadium to comply to the capacity rules, rather than having them all clustered in one area.

Probably a combination of both, I’ve absolutely no idea but do Forrest, Sheffield Wednesday, Coventry etc, fill their vast grounds to capacity every week? They may we’ll do as I’ve honestly no idea, but my assumption was that they don’t.

Let's face it trying to distance in the area behind the family stand ain't happening.

The Elton John's not much better

Can't see any crowds coming back until Spring '21 myself anyhow.
