Bournemouth also said yes to buying him from Chelsea, while we passed on him. So I wouldn't overrate our business sense too much.

None of the players mentioned are defenders.

I'd say Ake would have been an upgrade on any of our centre backs and left backs.

We only went down by a point. I reckon he'd have been worth that, but we'll never know.

Yes probably. When he was with us he was streets ahead of Holebas, even though we played him at LB.

We could all see how good he was and would become, but I think at the time, £20m was just too much for us. That was a big chunk of cash for a club in its first season to part with.

We had better start getting things moving quickly and in the transfer market moving on the deadwood and bringing in what we need. That means getting this managerial appointment sorted out soon. You can Muff investing that money in retaining some players or buying others we might want. Norwich are moving quickly to sort out their business to hit the ground running. They and Muff obviously still have their managers that is if the martyred saint stays at Sandbanks.

It's a buyers market this summer so let us make the most of it.

Ake turned us down I believe, as he wanted to play at centre half whereas our intention was to continue playing him at left back.

I watched our end of season review from when we last got promoted last night, quite excited for next season now! If anyone is not sure about trying to bring Vydra back watch some of his finishes in this.

We get and have got ridiculed for mentioning Vydra. Absolutely abysmal decision. We then bring in a clown of absolutely no talent whatsoever in Gray. He is not fit to clean Vydras boots.

Don't worry, they can start clawing that back as soon as we play them. As par to the usual cause.

One thing I don't get, they were charged in November over something which happened in the 17/18 season, how come their deduction is happening next season? Wigan have been properly shafted yet again...

If they deducted the 12 points this season they’d of stayed up on gd.

Maybe a bit of conspiracy as that 12 points may be harder to achieve next season

On our squad debate who stays and goes, don’t forget most these players have been brought into the club on the pretence it’s a stepping stone do well and we will sell you onto bigger and better things. Last season refusing Evertons bid for Doucoure for example we could say that’s a sideways step so no they haven’t offered an unbelievable price so your staying put, had it been a team in champions league with bidding less money it would of been harder to get in his way or even a Europa league team in a top league. Now with relegation all 20 premier teams can’t be looked at as a sideways step and I’d also put Germany Italy Spain and possibly France’s top divisions in that category. So keeping hold of these mercenaries won’t be easy even the mediocre ****s will still want to have elite status.
They finished the season playing as individuals thinking that their to good for Watford and some thinking that they were to good to go down.
I’d love them to stay and prove a point but I think they’ll jump ship at the earliest opportunity given a chance and then we will have a depleted squad which with a new coach having to gel and need time and that we don’t see at most clubs never mind us.
Plus which of these ****s will be able to play twice a week grinding out results for a fast return? Which players will want to ? These players were flying last April then it’s fallen apart. What makes anyone think they’ll all of a sudden pull their socks up and graft?
We have poison amongst this lot wether it’s Giraldi or players or both change is needed but how much can we afford to change in a short period of time?

Who would have stayed up on goal difference? Take 12 off Sheff Weds for the season just ended and they go bottom of the league...

Ah the good old days when:
    Deeney could run
We had defenders who could pass
    Toszer was deadly from free-kicks
    Abdi was masterful
Fessi was a joy to watch
    We played sexy football
    Vydra was rapid and deadly
We gave young players a chance
We even played Tamas for a laugh

    What went wrong?

I watched that video, I didn't remember Tamas but he looked like a liability at the beginning of the season.

We should swap Andre Gray for Vydra. Dyche seems to rate him and would probably get more out of him and Vydra is better suited to the championship and would play regularly.

It was the deal of the century for them.

I think it’s wishful thinking that Dyche is essentially stupid, and can’t see that Gray is completely useless and would prefer him back over having Vydra.

I’m not sure in what universe he’d want Gray back, but any deal to swap him for Vydra would likely involve Gray going for free and us paying for Vydra, and Burnley laughing all the way to the bank again.

    Honest question:

Why did we buy Andre' Gray? For 18M that was a massive price tag for a player who hardly ever scores. He used to play for Brentford, Burnley and Scum - but never really set
the world alight for any of those clubs. 18M could of bought us two strikers for 9M each who could of become very good in the waste of time Gray has been here. He seems a nice
enough guy, but his touch and technique is Sunday school football level at best, he has pace yes but his finishing is as bad as Deeney's at times. He sits on the bench and comes on when
Deeney goes off, or is swapped out for Pedro.

I do not see, even when we bought him, why we did. Who was he an upgrade for? Okaka was a better player overall.
