Yep. Should be the minimum requirement. The fact that so many clearly don't give a tuppenny **** is a disgusting state of affairs.

Not a reassuring nickname for a goalie, that.

Give it to Hughes so he has something to remember this horrific phase of his career by.

Give it Hughesy at end of season?

Let’s not forget young player of the year either. Based on the average age of our squad I’d give it to young Dawson.

Hole as - honestly name one game where he cost us mor3 than he contributed. The man is a legend, and you know if he wins the award he would be thoroughly dismissive of the honour.

they say you never realised what you have until it’s gone. Vote Holebas

Can't wait to give it to Penaranda twice for his 5 goals in 44 appearances next season. How many of those are cup games I hear you ask? Well let's wait and see!

Hughesy then Sarr for me. Although Hughes was garbage for the first few months.

It was supposed to be a joke, but after that Rice goal I'm regretting this quip...

I'm getting a bit pissed off with the stick Ben Foster has been getting on here  IMO he was NOT at fault for ANY of those goals last night in fact he made his usual quota of very good saves to keep the score down, so why are so many of you having a go at him

He has saved many similar efforts to the Spammers 1st goal this season, many of which he probably had no right of doing so, then because he does not manage it this time he is being vilified, that was actually a very well taken goal IMO that most other PL keepers would not have saved either.

I am assuming that even you lot are not blaming Ben for their 2nd goal o_O

As for their 3rd it was a worldy strike, which again most PL keepers would not necessarily have saved, I don't think Ben even saw it until it was too late.

So why don't you lot get off Ben's back as we are lucky to have him IMO, and quite probably we would already have been relegated by now if it were not for him

He's been good this season but the third goal last night was poor. It wasn't even in the corner. He got caught flat footed and he knew it.

First and third goals last night were poor from the keeper. Anything that goes through his legs is an error and he’s had an issue with long shots for a while now.

With every game that passes it becomes more and more clear that there is a correct answer to this question.

Has Foster always been as error prone as this season? I would say HG made less 'crazy' decisions than he has.

Can anyone remember the club not running this at the end of a season before? Not a peep this time unless I’ve missed it.

Good point. Perhaps Holebas stole the trophy on his way out.

He was less consistent but still managed some great saves.

I hope he stays but wouldn't be against starting with a young keeper as our no. 1

I think Foster has been fantastic for us this season. Does he make mistakes? Yes, but not as many as, say, 'world class' De Gea. One reason why he seems to panic and dash out too early is quite simply because the defence in front of him has been record-breakingly bad; and he has been left one-on-one too many times. With the probable exception of Pope, I would argue he is still the best English-born goalkeeper still playing. At his age he could easily spend a year or two as second-string in a top 6 club. We will be doing well to keep him.
    & - (this is not you Folkestone) - I don't buy into this 'smiling-cos-he's-not-bothered' cr*p, either.

Only issue I have with this post is calling our defence ‘record breakingly bad’. I’m not sure what records they’re supposed to have broken, but this season wasn’t even the most goals we’ve conceded since being promoted. So amongst the things they’re not good at, breaking records is another one.

Has to be Hughes IMO. Do people remember as I do when Scholes was shunted
out wide under Sven?. Absolute waste of world class quality . But he just got on
with it because he was a team man. Hughes being played out of position was not
his doing but he just got on with it as he is a team man . No strops . No sulks . No toys
    leaving the pram .

Was this just never awarded in the end? I know no one exactly felt like celebrating last year (and probably still don't), and most of the players were atrocious, but getting relegated has never stopped us having a POTS before, and not having one gets my OCD going. I may be on my own on this one.

Who was the player of the season in 2006/07?

For me it would’ve been between Bouazza, Shittu and again Foster.

Not especially important in the great scheme of things, but a shame since the award has been around since the 70s. Should have been questioned at the recent Q&A session.
