Hope he has a winter season at the Ally Pally. If Gino is serious he needs to swing the axe and remove fatty. Poor recruitment and meddling in coaching and team selection. It undermines the coach. He is more connected to the players and that gives them leeway to mess about and look to him rather than whoever is supposed to be in charge.

He didn't really find Aly Malle. He was a very promising player at the u17 Youth WC and no doubt our scouts and indeed fatty spoke to Aly during the tournament to tell him about Watford and how they develop you into a world beater, Discovered indeed.

He's an immodest, obese twit, one who prefers to hand notes to the supposed manager. He's not after points or trophies but his bank balance.

There is a new listing in the Idiots Guide series penned by fatty. The Idiots Guide to Meddling and generally making a nuisance of yourself by F.Giraldi.

The Athletic's latest article reckons that "the role of technical director Filippo Giraldi is likely to come under increased scrutiny", and the club will aim to give the next coach "more space to breathe".

I'm not expecting Giraldi to be sacked any time soon, the Pearson incident makes me think that he'll be here a while longer. It would be nice though if we had some official word from the club about what his role actually involves and why they feel he is qualified. I think we're all particularly interested in his relationship with the head coaches and players. I'd also like to know exactly which decisions over the past few years have been down to him. I don't expect the club to ever give an honest summary of all this, so fans will continue to speculate.

A line fed to Leventhal to give the hierarchy and Giraldi 'more space to breathe' from fan criticism no doubt.

That's after they've managed to use a crane to lift Filippo off him after having savaged the new manager with his notepad at London Colney.

Also states he will still work in correlation with head coach.
It’s a nothing article. Leventhal contradicts himself a number of times within it - which is understandable if he has no info.

Genuinely think he would have been sacked today if it was ever realistic to expect him to be going.

It's not referring to his abilities at contract bridge sadly. He needs to be purged. Along with Rob Roy.

He is going nowhere. If Pozzo stays, Giraldi and Duxbury stay.

He's going nowhere. He'll be told to let the coach get on with it though, which is how it should be.

If Giraldi goes does he still have contact with the scouting network.
Could there be a situation where if Gino dumps Giraldi his scouting network could be accessible to an other club

If it is true that he interferes with the way the head coach wants to play, then he should either be kicked out of our club all together, or at the very least told to just stick to his recruitment and scouting duties and not to interfere in how the Head Coach runs the playing staff and playing tactics.

A couple of thoughts on Giraldi.

Firstly, I know people joke, but there is a good chance he does actually have some knowledge of information that could be damaging if released. It doesn’t necessarily stop us getting rid of him it wouldn’t just need a big pay off and an NDA signing.

The second point is has anybody stopped to consider he might just be a mouthpiece for Gino? I alluded to this in another post, but I think it’s quite clear Gino doesn’t place as much importance in the head coach role as everyone else in football, including us. Appointing QSF and then Pearson pretty much confirms that to me. Is it Giraldi interfering with tactics etc, or is it Gino asking him to?

You might as well suggest Santa Claus as his replacement, he won't be leaving.

Makes you wish for the days of Gianluca Nani and a smiling contingent of Argentinian midgets diving, and tippy-tapping their way to glory.

I was thinking about him the other day. He oversaw all the Championship recruitment and the summer transfer window upon promotion before leaving to explore new opportunities. Giraldi only stepped after Nani left. And when you think about it, recruitment has been much poorer since then. Several of the players we brought in for the PL in 15/16 turned out to be pretty good - Capoue, Holebas, Behrami, Britos, Prodl. Obviously there were some rubbish ones too but that's probably the best window we had.

Nani came to the club as part of a package with Duxbury. Maybe it's time to approach him again?

Agree with you that the opening transfer window for this last Prem spell was pretty good. Several of those players made good contributions over more than one season. Recruitment in the Championship was a bit scattergun, but he did put together a really good squad by the end of that promotion campaign.

Not sure what Nani has been up to since, but he’d certainly feel like an upgrade. Then again, they could hire me to do the Giraldi role and it would feel like an upgrade.
