Deeney disgracing himself in the post match interview... asked about Watford and making it all about himself
Anyway what is done is done. No use crying about it. The idiots in charge need to make the right choices now. Dispense with the rubbish and sicknotes. Bring in the right manager and that means disposing of fatty and bring in some experience and retain Sarr Estupinan. We should come back up again given the plight of many clubs in the Chump. But NO COMPLACENCY. Make sure they are physically and mentally fit. And for gods sake get these people in: 1.A medical team that actually does it's job 2.A psychologist. We really need one. We should have one come in after the final. Work on the mental fragility that is obvious in some. 3.A set piece coach for corners, free kicks and throw ins. 4.Get fatty out of decision making 5.Pick the right manager The off pitch decisions as much as what has happened on the pitch have contributed to this debacle. We have played well against the so called bigger teams yet could not raise the game for others in midtable and below where it really mattered. That implies a lack of motivation from the squad. This is a bad day in the history of the club. It is gutting for all who are concerned and love the club. The club. Not the players, directors or chairman. But cool correct decisions need to be made so that we bounce back again at the next opportunity. Because we should aim to be in the top flight. For the good of the club.
Gutted !!! even though I had accepted it before today . Was a much better performance and but for the calamitous defending ( even despite of it ) we would have won. But why couldn’t we have played like that more this season ? Jao Pedro looked real threat , will look forward to seeing more of him . Not much else to say . We need to rebuild , ensure we have a championship ready squad and get a manager in who can galvanise the players ready for next season .
NOW TRY AND TELL ME IT'S NOT A CLINICAL GOAL SCORER THAT WE NEED TO STRENGTHEN THE TEAM!!! BECAUSE IF WE HAD A HALF DECENT GOAL SCORER WE WOULD HAVE WON THAT GAME AS WELL AS MANY OTHERS AND STILL BEEN IN THE PREMIER LEAGUE At least we did not go down with a whimper as we almost did enough to have won that game, but because as I say above we actually created more than enough chances to do so, which only goes to show we probably would have won easily if only we had a clinical GOAL SCORER All season time and again our forwards take that an extra touch or pass it when they should be shooting, and today was no different. OK we probably also need to strengthen in defence, but all in all it's our lack of goals that has got us relegated, our defence is not good, but it's not to bad either. Whereas up at the so called sharp end, in attack, we are virtually blunt. Gino must now bite the bullet invest to build a new team and NOT sell off our best players, because believe it or not we do actually have some . If he does that hopefully we might just bounce back next season, but if he is not prepared to do that, then maybe it is time to find a new owner who will.
Difficult to sum up this season. However, we had the job done going into the coronavirus break. We were relegated because we had players that were idle during the break and felt social causes were more important to them than the success of the club and the welfare of supporters. In my opinion Troy Deeney should be released and not darken the doors of the club again. His behaviour made it obvious that Watford FC was way down his list of priorities. Doucoure and Peyrera have clearly come back unfit and demotivated. They provided the drumbeat that the club and the supporters were not a priority, disgraceful. we are a strong club and we will be successful again, although I do believe there are bumps in the road, specifically the rats deserting a sinking ship and a consequent fight next season to stay in the Championship I’ve seen it all before over the last 50 Years. Never seen us capitulate like this though
I think if you are brave enough to dance in the streets of Loon and Thornton Heath I'd say do it! Then apply for a prosthetic limb straight away.
That was a very strange game. We played like Watford first half and Chelsea second half. That third goal effectively relegated us, and the defending for it summed up our pathetic clueless mistakes we have made all season. We did give it a go second half and there was a bit of effort there, but even had Welbeck equalised after Sarr's flick cross, we still would of gone down thanks to Aston Villa and Grease Ball. Am I gutted? Yes, but in truth we were down when we lost at West Ham. That was our get out of jail card. No complaints to Mullins here either - he was thrown into the lion's den and had to work with what he had. I we had played with as much desire as we did in the second half of most games this season for 90 minutes we would of been way clear before today. Yes the player's will be gutted, and the tears were a show of emotion at the end, but you wonder who will be here in six weeks time. Our downfall began against Brighton with a toothless and abject display with an out of breath squad and ended today. Nigel Pearson needs to take a lot of plaudits for what he did achieve, and personally, I thank him. We would never of had half a chance like we did today before Christmas. We will be back in the Premiership again, that I am sure of. But for next season it's a rebuild and take it slow. We need to make sure we can build a squad capable of playing decent attacking football with a defence who know their jobs. Most importantly, we need to pick a manager and stick with him. Let him create a vision and help him build it. We had a good five years. Let's not forget the good times we did have, and try to look to the future with a positive outlook. Btw, my sister is in tears at the moment. Bless.
Grey day, a catalogue of errors this season that have been gone over a 1000 times before, just no need to do it again. We look forward, hopefully Holebas leaving is just the start of the deadwood moving on. Gino gave us two out three really good Championship seasons so looking at it objectively, there's not many better placed to make it happen. I do want a proper, honest statement from above though. Luckily only seven short weeks before we get back into so onwards we go!
For me this hurts more because we were dead and buried at Christmas and all the experts said we were as good as down. But we weren’t. We had a terrific patch and there was even talk back then of a mid-table finish. Had we gone down like Norwich we could have said ‘oh well that was inevitable after that start’ but instead we gave ourselves hope, got so close to safety and threw it away with a terrible post lockdown period. I sat here during April and May when it seemed the season could be voided and told myself I didn’t want to stay up by default, I wanted us to have the chance to prove ourselves worthy of staying up on merit. And we got that chance and royally messed it up. We couldn’t even get a point on the road playing in empty stadia. We worried about our rivals’ opponents being on the beach but in the end our fate was sealed because that’s the impression we gave of ourselves.
Watford-y to drag our pain to the last day. Jokes aside, Eddie Howe & Steve Cook look genuinely devastated. Actually made me feel sorry for them for a bit.
The only people I feel sorry for are Nath, Moog, Jumbolina and myself. We called it all along and got dogs abuse with Nath especially taking the brunt of it. I'll accept all your apologies on behalf of my colleagues. "We'll be fine".
Are you missing the first few weeks of the Championship because you already had holidays booked or because you can't bear to watch our hangover as we begin life in the Championship?
Certainly not Peyrera or Kabasele, They didn't get involved much in the game so they were presumably unaware of the score and any significance involved. Kabasele successfully managed to avoid trying to stop the 2nd and 3rd goals going in by looking the other way. Both pulled out of challenges today looking at their next moves. Both were a disgrace.
Can’t defend and can’t score .... recipie for the inevitable.... this has been coming for years - poor, arrogant recruitment strategy (If you can call it a strategy) the defence has been woeful since we were promoted as have the strikers and I include ighalo in that. It’s the midfield strength that has dragged us through season after season. Anyway - we rebuild and go again. If we want to follow a new model .... then let’s look to Wolves and build a side in the Championship with stable management to take the championship and then the prem by storm ..... in the words of crouchy ..... back stronger
It is the very least the supporters deserve. Not from Duxbury. Not from Giraldi. Gino needs to do this in the next 24 hours. Lord knows he must have prepared something! No platitudinous piffle. A clear plan as to what the next seven weeks will involve and an apology from him to start the statement.
I'm sorry to hear you received abuse. I have no idea what your exact viewpoint was but that certainly seems uncalled for.
