No chance. They aren't interested. 3 attempts in 45 mins, none on target. Villa will fight for their lives in the second half. Will finish 1-0 or 2-0.
Oh yeah, of course we'd have to have a competent manager who can see that Troy is about 4 years past it
Imagine the confidence boost it gave Villa in the build up to this game, watching us meekly roll over and accept a humping, and knowing they’d be out of the relegation zone with a victory.
100% Villa will score again. Arsenal are completely disjointed. Never change a winning team, Arteta! Especially when you finally crack it with an inconsistent team like Arsenal.
I'm going to win 2 grand if we go down but I honestly don't want to be collecting. Come on Arsenal you tossers.
Always easier chasing when you look dead and buried than being at the head of the pack. Most of what I’ve seen of them has been desperate stuff. And you only have to look at our form around Xmas to see how that worked to our advantage at one point too. Helped them both too that our Newcastle win which put us +6pts ahead came at the start of that weekend and left them with almost free swings at Leicester and Palace. Even then both nearly conspired to lose. And them roaring back no doubt had an effect on our team morale too. Completely spoiled what would have been a really positive training ground mood by immediately putting the pressure back on. Helps when key things go your way too. Villa have had the Hawkeye **** up, the early non-handball Palace goal ruled out, now Arsenal making 6 changes and looking a shadow of themselves. It’s not a newsflash to anyone that our squad are a bunch of bottle jobs. We’ve seen it too many times in the last few seasons. Ironically I think Villa winning tonight may be our best chance of getting out of this, as either we go for broke on Sunday or we’re down. Wouldn’t worry though. Bottlers gonna bottle.
If arsenal can get anything out of this game now then maybe, just maybe that may have the reverse effect on us! Probably not though.
Villa clearly been told at HT to waste time. Sitting on the floor when they go down, not retrieving the ball when it goes out etc. Beyond obvious. And effective. The one time a Villa player retrieved the ball for their corner, cut to Dean Smith furiously shaking his head.
Just think of Sunday. Our idiot fans lining up in their XXL full kits with genuine belief that we will win and stay safe. It puts a smile on my face.
Yep I'm devastated. All these whoppers saying they are glad we're going down as it means this team will be broken up. They are going to learn the hard way just how disastrous it will be for us. Remember back to when we had Marco Silva and how ace we looked before Everton tapped him up. And how great we were peak-Javi. Sarr v Liverpool. We'll never look that good again in our lifetimes.
As silly as it seems at the moment, in a few years time we will look back on this as a golden age when we’re bumbling around in League One again for the first time in 25 or so years.
Imagine going into our final game, in disarray, the laughing stock of the football world and needing a result, not to mention hoping that Villa don't get one too. We are reaping what Gino has sewn. I bet it's almost worth a million quid down the swanny for Pearson to get the satisfaction of seeing his former boss get completely exposed.
I don't mind going down. The club will survive and be fine. What hurts is how we've done it and the wasted potential we have by making the same mistakes over and over in recruitment and team selection that was so avoidable.
Watching Villa, and what frustrates me most of all, is that a team who have been one of the leakiest in the division are still capable of basic organisation, something which has been beyond us for a long long time
