Is there a statistician in the house? Is there really a law of probability? I understood that you have a 1 in 6 chance of throwing a 6 no matter how many 6's you've thrown before. Mind you, West Ham have got away with weighted dice before.... More likely, the fact that Watford are really crap will screw our chances against them.
Team news:- Foster Kiko, Dawson, Kabs, Masina Doucoure, Hughes, Capoue Sarr, Deeney, Welbeck Subs: Gomes, Pussetto, Gray, Pereyra, Cathcart, Chalobah, Cleverley, Pedro, Mapps
I don't think Newcastle have got much if Shelvey doesn't have time to stand around and pick out St Maximin or Gayle. Problem is that with the exception of occasional Deulofeu forays,we never ever ever harry deep lying playmakers (hence Noble always looking like Pogba against us). If Deeney is to have a purpose beyond defensive headers, someone has to get him in and around the so-called quarterbacks and then hand them on to Capoue before they get within 40 yards of our goal.
How poor does Deeney need to be to be dropped. I do not get it. Why have a Pedro on bench if he clearly thinks he is not ready?
Newcastle clearly just rested their players, why can't they just admit it? There's no shame or rule breaking - considering the packed schedule even more so.
Lascelles, Saint-Maximin and Almiron back in. No Joelinton up top to try to ‘out-useless’ our own talentless lump. We’re going to be on the end of a Bournemouth-style drubbing.
The pace of the last 4 added to the passing of Shelvey scares the carp out of me. How the hell do we stop them scoring ? Rested too. Really hope we don't push forward too recklessly.
C'mon folks they are still gash. Ritchie is gash, Schar is gash, Gayle is gash, Rose is gash and Almeron is gash. Saint maximum is ok but looked like a 3 legged donkey before lockdown.
Pearson is so checked out by now that he can't even be bothered to amend a team sheet. Does Deeney have to actually play a blinder for the opposition, rather than doing absolutely nothing for us, before he is dropped? What possible logic can there be for playing him?
Have to keep an eye on Shelvey and Almiron as well. They can dictate play and the defence splitting passes. We should target Manquillo as well. Tommy Smith is on the hive looking nervous with Robbo looking more relaxed.
You can’t have welbeck and Pedro up front. Might as well start the scissor sisters. Newcastle are *****, we’ll win today and stay up.
The tv media pundits saying again Deeney is pivotal. Always the same. I told ya the media love him. Jumbolina i hope you heard it having argued that the media don't love him. Lol Don't get me wrong I'd like him dropped but when it's Deeney this Deeney that and he's captain it's tricky for a manager without balls.
Newcastle, who effectively have nothing to play for, want it more. How f*cked up is that? That being said it isn't just that. Our tactics are shocking and we sit so deep without the ball. Then when we do get the ball, we end up with only Deeney (who is dogshit now) upfront and it just comes straight back at us. Been like that since lockdown and I have no idea why Pearson hasn't changed tactics. I'm also intrigued to learn about wtf we've been doing on the training pitch? Surely we havent just been hoofing it to Troy.
We have become the most bizarre team Kilo, Holebas, Hughes, Cleverley, capoue, Doucoure, Pereyra, Sarr, Welbeck, Chalobah, Pedro all ball playing, technically sound footballers. Clips of our training sessions always ball on the deck. Warm up routines, football on the deck. Yet the manager sees that and all he can do is defend Deeneys place in the team and direct us to give the opposition the ball by knocking it long repeatedly.
I just don’t understand how that isn’t a goal in the spirit of the game. Technology is all well and good, but surely that should be amended by VAR
For their goal, anybody know what femenia was thinking of bumbling around there playing everyone onside?
