An eight day period where we play Norwich at home, Newcastle at home and West Ham away. That is the opportunity to pick up 5/6/7 points. If we don't then we'll deservedly go down.
Not only that but 6pts against Norwich and Newcastle will be of much less use if we let West Ham beat us. 5 might actually be better bizarrely.
We've just picked up 0 points from 2 games vs sides with nothing to play for so 5/6/7 points in those 3 games, 2 against highly motivated rivals, should be a breeze....
If Newcastle win tonight then I think Muff, along with Norwich, are as good as down given their upcoming fixtures. However I do expect them to win, especially with Newcastle having played at the weekend, which will give them a real chance of surviving given how few points any of the bottom 5 look likely to pick up.
I doubt it but maybe that's the kick up the arse our squad needs? Our only real good spell this season was when we were chasing and looked dead and buried.
Some great odds on us getting relegated right now. Bookies definitely not been watching our useless performances.
If Bournemouth don't win tonight I think we need 5 points, I am actually quite nervous about The AFCB game tonight, I genuinely don't see them finishing ahead of us if they don't get three points tonight. However I think they will get three point as Newcastle are likely to rest some key players.
Yeah but two sides better than ourselves and the teams around us, Southampton are in great form and have one of the best away records in European football and Burnley are 8th on the same amount of points as Spurs in 7th and have a realistic chance of gaining a Europa place.
Given Palace's home form losing to them before the break was a lost chance too. I think it was the performances or lack of them which was the most concerning thing out of those games. We didn't even give ourselves a chance ! Pope and McCarthy probably did more work in the post match testing than in the 90 minutes!
Yeah you are right we were awful, especially in the Southampton game, but as much as we were hoping for something Burnley and Southampton are difficult teams to beat on the best of days. Palace was definitely a lost opportunity on the back of the Liverpool win, the way Palace set up just don't suit us because we can't break a team down and run out of ideas to easily. I think we could actually create more against Chelsea because there will be more space. They will still hammer us though.
It might be quicker to just list the 2 or 3 teams that we are able to play well against, if burnley, Soton and CP, for differing reasons, just aren't really suitable as beatable opponents ? I hope there isn't a really good reason why we can't play well against Norwich when we play them.
Was quite straightforward at their place, albeit with Geri, but without Sarr iirc. They looked quite listless then, and can always be got at at the back, though they're not the worst team in the world and did put up a fight in the cup against Man U
Clappers excuse - 'Those Norwich players were in the shop window for PL moves next season and my word, didn't they just show it'
In hindsight the lack of fans really has ****ed us. Our players are that gutless and lazy, that without our fans to make them run a bit further and get on their backs they have regressed several levels of effort lower than normal. That’s not an excuse by the way, just a sad indictment of the character of our players.
What a player that Maximin is. I remember when we were linked with him. Giraldi probably didn't rate him.
2-0 - Longstaff. Saint-Maximin taking the piss out of Adam Smith. Is it blasphemous to say ASM > Sarr?
Norwich losing too now. They’re gone. Bournemouth I feel are gone. Us and Villa IMO. We don’t have a Grealish. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
You’ve got to feel now it’s going to be ironic this season as I have said before. Norwich, Bournemouth and us going down. Same teams that got promoted together in 2015. The reality is though, that the bottom 5 are all absolute turd.
