Quina heavy heavy fine. Gray sacked and fined. Send a message to the rest of the squad. This sort of behaviour will not be tolerated.

Quina should be fined his wages and chalobahs for as long as they are out.

Shame Foster, Dawson and Deeney didn't get an invite to Gray's birthday bash

So that's 14 days isolation for Curly, Larry and Moe from Saturday/Friday. I imagine Pearson was over the moon when he discovered these three 'options' weren't available for him for Soton and are not available until 10th/11th July. They can't even take part in training for the Geordie match...

I think the current protocol in the prem is actually 7 days isolation, isn't it?

From a medical perspective presumably they just get tested and, if negative (for Covid, not braincells), they can resume training without the need for any further isolation?

I'm uncertain I'm just going on current guidance of 14 day self-isolation. I hope you're right.

Isn't this if somebody at the party tests positive?

    Nothing like an overreaction.

It’s moronic behaviour. But sacking someone? That’s crazy talk. And how are you going to sack someone AND fine them?

It is pretty unprofessional regardless of if a lockdown is on or not.

They won't be sacked though - sold for some sort of fee in Gray's case.

Deeney got away with going to jail for GBH or whatever it was.

Fine him and then sack him. It's not an overreaction. It's sending a message to those who might be thinking discipline can be flouted that effectively hampering the club and the manager will not be tolerated. He could have had a party at the end of the season with a few close pals. No. Not one iota of thought for his employer and his colleagues. He also has set a bad example to Quina.

What I thought was most interesting was when asked in his post match presser, Nige seemed to know very little about the circumstances and have no control over the club's punishment.

Quina isn’t 8 years old. He’s an adult. If he can’t make his own judgment, that’s on him, nobody else.

So you’d punish him by fining him - so why are you sacking him? You can’t punish an employee twice for the same thing?! You don’t sack someone for this. It hardly constitutes gross misconduct. Under what grounds would you sack Gray and expect it to be upheld?

Unless he was hiding it or just leave it to Scott Duxbury and co .

Plus it's self-defeating, given he's probably still worth £8m+ and we could punish him by selling him.

I *think* Gray has an awful lot to answer for yesterday's shitshow. I imagine the three players has extremely important roles in yesterday's gameplan.

Also says that Joao Pedro posted a photo of himself having a haircut at a barbers on Friday. Begs the questions: Why break the lockdown? Why post it on social media? What kind of a world do we live in where you want to post or look at such banality?

There's not been many players back with big lockdown hair from any club. All handy at a home haircut, obviously.

Andre Gray's "apology" is so full of exclamation marks that I'm unsure if it's sarcasm or not.

Has the whiff of "I'm sorry but I didn't really do anything wrong".

What I don't get is how come JP didn't get excluded? Even if he took all the precautions, there'd be some danger at him going for a haircut?

Andre Gray's apology says it all really.

He's posted it as an Instagram story, which disappears after 24 hours. Does he think we'll forget about it in a couple of days?

At least Quina had the brass cojones to put an Instagram post up, rather than a story.

Can't believe our football team is so sh1te I'm here analysing the nature of our players' apologies on social media fml.

While he's right it wasn't a late night party, it was a little kick around, we all know that anyway.

    What a *******.

I don't think we have ever had as unlikable a player as Andre Gray in my time supporting the club.

    He is absolutely useless.
He was our record signing for a while.
    He played for Luton.
He has previously been punished for homophobic and racist tweets.

And now he has thrown a party during a key relegation battle for the club - resulting in 3 players being unavailable for selection. On top of that, he has posted an embarrassing apology.

Hopefully he is replaced in the summer transfer window.

It's actually unbelievable how bad and missing the point his apology is; it's almost more disrespectful than the party, and he couldn't even ******* bother to go over it once to make sure it was written correctly. I feel like this tells us rather a lot (that we suspected incredibly strongly anyway) about the attitude of the majority of our dressing room. Don't give a ****.

No idea but seems harsh to quarantine somebody if nobody has Covid
