I don’t post often but I really need to vent after that. Gutless, spineless, no fight and clueless all spring as immediate thoughts. The players look lost, they look out of fight, I think they don’t believe we will get out of the scenario we’re in.

Some noticeably poor performances today. Foster with that throw and the positioning for the free kick, incredibly costly. Cathcart and Dawson both painfully slow, Sarr crossing was woeful and Deeney just sulked up top.

After Pedro played 2 minutes he had already showed more than Pererya had. Holebas instilled a bit of battle.

The whole party debacle sums up where we are right now, incredibly disappointed in all three of them. How this damages their relationship with the fans and owners is not yet known but the anger directed towards them is very much justified.

Onto Pearson, on twitter I see that he is very much defended and almost exempt from large amounts of criticism. We all now the substitutions are a problem but lately the tactics have been completely inept, it seems he (along with 2 other managers) can’t motivate these players and that is worrying.

I can only see us going one way and that’s towards the trap door, and the decisions made by the board, coupled with the performances on the pitch we really do deserve to have that outcome, never the less SOMEHOW we are still in with a chance, whether we’ll take it is a complete uncertainty.

All in all, still waiting for that lightbulb moment Troy.

Pearson’s substitutions always seem to be purely for the sake of it, rather than as an attempt to actually change the game and achieve something.

As I said in the shoutbox, given that the 11 that started the game hadn't managed a shot on target up to the second drinks break, why did NP think that sticking with the same 11 would magically result in us turning the game around?

    Yes true.

My point was most of the games in this poor run have been against mid table bottom half sides.

Gave up on the match after we went 1-0 down, so sure I was that we wouldn’t get anything from the game. I think I heard on the pre-match commentary, though, that it’s Deeney’s birthday tomorrow. After such an epic performance, the lads surely deserve another party?

As for the rest of the season, I’m not even angry anymore. I’m now resigned to the fact that we’re going down without a fight. In fact, I can’t be bothered anymore - I’m all in favour of pretending the football never restarted and simply playing games of Werewolf instead.

Have to tow the party line. They don't want to see constructive criticism. It's a pity the players and coaching staff cannot meet the fans for a meeting due to the pandemic and listen to some forthright views on the level of effort, performance, quality and hunger.

Looking forward to the superfan tools solemnly declaring that they don't review the match threads after a defeat because everyone is unenlightened and then banging on about Lewington and Bassini. And then calling everyone else spoiled brats and accusing them of tantrums.

    My thoughts...

    - We were ******* awful again. We started our quite positively, but heads soon dropped after Ings' first goal and there was only 1 side in it from there on out.
    - Credit to Danny Ings. A cracking player but could we possibly try to make it any easier for him? Disgusting defending.
    - Ben Foster's assist for Ings for the second goal was unforgiveable at this level. What in the bleeding hell was he thinking? Why oh why do we do this to ourselves?
    - Troy Deeney is holding us back. He's slow, he's static, he doesn't anticipate runs and I'm afraid he just doesn't have a Premier League footballing brain. The amount of good work Sarr does down the right only to find Deeney in either completely the wrong place in the box or huffing and puffing outside the penalty area.. it's just so frustrating. I feel sorry for Sarr for signing for us. He's the only one out there who wants to make something happen.
    - Our midfielders are way too static and give our defence zero options, so what do they do? They hoof it upfield and we lose the 50/50 header because we lack the bottle for a fight and before you know it, we've lost possession again.
    - To all Watford players.. please act like you give a ****, even if you don't. No one wants a relegation on their CV and I can't bear watching your turd like performances anymore.
    - Nigel Pearson will be sacked I reckon. How long though before Pozzo clicks and realises that our problems don't lie with our head coaches? Something is very very rotten in that dressing room.
    - Apart from working on our corners, what else are we doing at the training ground? Embarrassing.
    - Southampton deserved winners but didn't even have to get out of 2nd gear.

Thing is, we all, pretty much agree, that those players today and on Thursday, were worse than useless.

However at one point, most of them have given us reason to think they are good. They've pretty much all given us a few moments, though it seems hard to remember now, but there is a talent vacuum around Watford that sucks the life out of any player and drags everyone down to the same, underperforming, insipid level of terrible ness.

It's a stinking, tangible cultural reality throughout the club under our current owners and their 'model,' which has seen off countless coaches, numerous iterations of players and line ups.

What are the constants? Deeney, Gino and our roundabout way of recruiting substandard players with no connection to the club.

What do people expect from the likes of Sarr and Pedro, whose agents must have told them not to expect to be at Watford in 1 or 2 years and so not to care too much about the long term future of the club.

It's a stinking, rotten, festering swamp of a club from top to bottom. Relegation, new owners and a complete squad overhaul is the only solution.

I think let Hayden Mullins take over at least til the end of the season.

I find Deeney so incredibly frustrating - I don't know what he offers apart from winning a few headers; he's immobile, and poor with the ball at his feet. Cathcart seems scared of the ball, he so often opts to put it out of play that I wonder about his self- confidence. Dawson was poor today as well. Capoue Is too casual, and Doucoure often seems to panic when he gets the ball. Will Hughes is the pick of the bunch for me, seems to care and puts the effort in. I'm with those who say play the subs who came on today. What have we got to lose?

Spot on. If relegation were to signal the end of Pozzo and Deeney I'm all for it. However, I reckon going down will solidify the position of both of these failures.

From what I've seen all the teams in the bottom 5 have been poor since the restart. We'reno worse than any of the others which is some small reason to remain optimistic

Never saw today’s game as I’m working thankfully. But reading the comments on here and from friends that did watch it I’m not going to waste my time watching the recording.

If we stay up it’s cos three teams are more ***** than this dross. Pearson won’t get his contract extended and the Pozzo’s will already have someone lined up. They drop and I can see them keeping Pearson as he’s got the experience in championship and nobody else will want the job.

The way the players left the field at burnley was a disgrace laughing and joking. They’re bad eggs in this squad that need ****ed off. With no fans to let them know they get to **** about and not give a ****.

Norwich and Newcastle games they’d better sort it out.

I think we were absolute ***** today and have been since before the lockdown, however I actually believe that if we can somehow pick up 6 more points, Norwich & West Spam perhaps, that will probably be enough to keep us up.

    LET US PRAY

I still think the most worrying thing to take away from that dross today was Pearson's body language. I'm not sure what's gone on but he's completely given up.

I agree that we may need a relegation to rid the club of both the Pozzos and Deeney. A price worth paying.

I hope they take the hint and fark off as they have more than outstayed their welcome.

Let's face it, even if we survived, we'll be in the same situation next season. Since last season, I've felt successive relegations coming up - prepare for Luton in Div 1 in 2021-22!

    That was so depressing.

Under Javi we were poor, but I could see what Javi and the team were trying to do. The last two games I just have no idea what we're doing. Aimlessly lumping it in the direction of Deeney or in behind Sarr hoping something will come of it. There was a point in that game where we beat the press with some neat passing and then instead of advancing forward Masina just dinked it in Deeney's direction. Horrendous.

It really wouldn't surprise me if Pearson is sacked in the next 24 hours. His last 10 matches have seen 1 win and only 6 points. That's worse than the record that got QSF sacked. The last two performances have been just dreadful. There had to be a reaction after Burnley and they played even worse. No fight, no desire. Just pedestrian, lack lustre and it looked as though we were a league apart from Southampton.

We will not pick up another point if we continue at the same performance level as the last two games.

10 matches is a long enough yardstick to judge a coach, after the initial honeymoon period is over. To my mind our only hope is a shot in the arm that can only be provided by a new manager. Unless Covid-19 takes a turn for the worse and we all get stuck in lockdown once more and the season is cancelled with us somehow not in the bottom three.....that's the only other way to avoid relegation.

If all things remain unaltered from as they are right now......we're down. We'll have to see how scared Gino is of relegation as to whether he'll sack Pearson or not. Personally I get a feeling he'll be gone within the next 24 hours.
