What do we do about our match write ups? @Filbert has been sitting pretty since March. If the games are that close now, maybe one big thread?

    Just an idea.

There will be six games played at neutral venues owing to police concerns. None of them involve either ourselves or our relegation rivals.

    The fixtures are:
    • Manchester City v Liverpool
    • Manchester City v Newcastle
    • Manchester United v Sheffield United
    • Newcastle v Liverpool
    • Everton v Liverpool
    • The game in which Liverpool could secure the title

I really hope Sheff Utd do us a favour. They owe us nothing in any regard, but if they can beat Vanilla, and we can look out for ourselves as much as possible, we might be alright. If it comes down to the final two games, we are screwed, unless we turn on a Liverpool performance against @rse and Citee.

Definite 3 points to Villa. 100% certain.

The break will have done AV good and given them to chance to regroup from a bad run. The opposite for SU. Plus the psychological boost of knowing they were close to being relegated had the season stopped - now they have the chance to escape, with a game in hand and 2 points from safety.
None. I never gamble, even on a guaranteed winner.

I tend to agree. I would put Villa favourites to win now.

Having said that, Sheff Utd do have the opportunity to get into Europe, even the CL.

If they can find the passion and form they've shown all season then they could win.

It's better Villa are playing them rather than a team like Palarse who have nothing to play for beyond league position.

As I've already posted in this thread, so far it seems that form in the Bundesliga has pretty much continued unchanged since what it was before the restart. There isn't much reason to think that should be any different for the PL. Plus, Sheffield Utd will have a similar boost to Villa, with something similarly valuable to play for, knowing that winning this game in hand will put them in what is probably a Champion's League spot (assuming Man City's ban gets upheld). The only extra boost Villa may get will be from McGinn being back. Ultimately quality should win out and I'd be incredibly surprised if Villa won.

If it's a "guaranteed winner" then it's not a "gamble" is it?

And then you'd be silly not to.

I don't gamble on principle. Maybe 98% rather than 100%, my mistake :)
In the same way that we are all reluctant to play now that relegation is a possibility again, AV will have the opposite feeling. Now they can save themselves....
Let's see the score in a few weeks.

No positive tests in the latest round of testing.

Out of 1,130 tests of players and club staff.

Absolutely terrible news - what will people complain about now?!

Why can't you also post a bit more info? Just posting the number of positive tests isn't enough and can be misleading without context - people still need to click the link and read the article to get an accurate picture anyway.

At first reading one might think 17 tests sounds like quite a bit, but then once you see that it's from the whole of the Championship and League Two it doesn't seem quite as bad.

edit: but then you see that `
"A total of 1,058 players and club staff were tested in the Championship, while four clubs and 135 individuals participated in the fourth tier" `
and it doesn't seem too good again.

edit: then you see that `
"There were 10 positive tests returned from eight clubs in the Championship and seven positives from three clubs in League Two. There is no programme of testing for League One at present."
and it actually seems fine for the Championship at least.

In sum: the context is important.

"Premier League teams who could be affected by positive coronavirus tests will still have to play on as long as they have 15 fit players, according to West Ham vice-chairman Karren Brady."

"As long as you have 15 fit players (including one goalkeeper) made up from either your 25-man squad list or from your Under-21’s you will be deemed to have a team fit enough to fulfil the fixture."

Any news on Delafoo's injury he sustained against Liverpool? I know he won't feature again this "season", but I haven't heard or seen anything.
    Hope is OK and recovering.
