Rinaldi did a great dribble covering half the pitch against Chelsea, but I think that's all I saw of him. Why wasn't he given a chance? Bad attitude?

We signed an Austrian keeper named Herwig Walker once. He was only cover, and never played for the first team. I always wondered how he came by that name, but never saw anything about him in the Wobby or the match programmes.

I remember the dribble. He wasn't much of a player though.

I should have put crap not cheese. Watford was a desert when it came to gigs. Only established pop band or artists on their way down played Watford. Elton excluded when raising funds to save the club.

Too close to London I guess. Friars in Aylesbury was the only venue of that era in the WFC area that could regularly attract decent bands. The rollcall of bands to have played there is quite something!

    Too true
I remember seeing Tubeway Army play there in 1979.
    OMD were the support band.
Hemel Pavilion had some great bands as well as the Stiff Records Tour and Two Tone Tour.
I can't remember who were the headline band, but l remember that the support act was Nico. She was using a pedal driven organ. She was pelted with plastic beer glasses from the balcony and floor. She never had a chance. Hemel was not ready for Germanic Avant- garde; gothic style poems at any cost.

For some reason Reece Brown popped up on my Linkedin, I'd completely forgotten about him and the fact he played for us.

Not quite on the topic of this thread, but there is currently a photo on the club website of the players celebrating Lloyd’s famous goal against QPR. Also in the frame is a disconsolate Ben Watson. I had no idea he ever played for QPR, let alone in that particular match. It turns out it was during a shortish loan early in his time at Wigan.

He was a poor 'striker', I think he only played about 10 games, his only goal was against Bradford in that 7-2 win in 1989. IIRC he was one of the only two players on Maidstone's books when they went out of business a few years later.

Went to a game with my old man in Doncaster, Liburd was playing for Maidstone he got a couple of complimentary tickets for us. Poor guy broke his leg in that game. I remember my dad going to the ambulance outside to wish him well.

I only remembered him cos my old man worked with the youth/ reserves teams in the mid 80’s. Remember the Maidstone game he was in but had to google him. Otter impressive knowledge remembering the goal he scored. I thought he was a full back not a forward.

How about current players you'd forgotten were a hornet?

I just saw something posted by Ignacio Pussetto at training yesterday on Twitter and had completely forgotten he existed.

A very promising looking signing who spoilt it by chasing the money and refusing to play to force the deal.

Not sure if he's already been mentioned, but there was a little fat french player that I saw come on as a sub away to West Ham during the Boothroyd PL season. Cedric someone? I think that might have been his only appearance.

I think R4E meant Johan Cavalli. Perhaps we should be more careful on describing him as he can be reading the forum at the minute.

Elliot Godfrey. Decent youth career but never kicked on. One substitute appearance and a life in local and regional non-league football as for many of the kids who come through our Academy.

Where is Dale Bennett these days ?

Another kid from the Malky/Dyche era.

Was highly touted as a first team regular of the future with Eddie Oshodi. Both are in as you may have guessed regional non-league football. Bennett however has been a key part of Sutton United's recent success. He is one of the best centrebacks in the National League. Probably could play in League Two without any issues.
