Noticed he posted this on his insta, too. No doubt they’ll have discussed this as well based on the fact it looks like they also interview Carragher and Barton:

Wise words from Troy - open and honest as ever.

Wonder how many of our squad back him?

I imagine most of them if it means an early break and in some of their cases, never having to play for this team ever again.

True - makes you wonder how many will be up for it if they see the captain and manager having valid doubts.

Some might use it to not make as much of an effort.

It's clearly going ahead at this point. Money rules all.

One positive is that with the way it's going we may actually end up having Deulofeu back for the final few games.

By which time he will already have signed a Pre-deal with arsenal so wont make any effort in case he gets injured again

He'd be ideal as their Ozil replacement - a mercurial talent who only actually turns up for 5 games a season.

    Oh dear .

Just come up on Sky that 6 players from 3 clubs have tested positive.

Now teams got to be isolated for 7 days.

Teams or just the players affected? I didn’t think they had started training in groups yet

Just the individuals according to the Beeb. It's not clear that they are all players, either.

Surely cases are at the lowest level they'll be right now, and we’re still meant to be in lockdown more or less... so if 6 of them have got it now, surely the chances of more getting it will go up proportionately in a month or so?

It is only those who have tested positive that have to isolate.

The 6 positive tests were out of a total of 748 tests, and could be from players or staff. The 6 positive results were in 3 of the teams, so 17 had zero positives,

It's interesting that the total results are very similar to the first round test results from the Bundesliga not too long ago, which had 10 positive tests in total out of 36 teams (vs PL's 6 tests out of 20 teams). Given that the BL was able to kick off 2 weeks after its first round of testing, then this is surely rather an indication that the PL will be fine to kick off in another month.

It's quite encouraging that almost 1% of those tested are positive. I assume they were asymptomatic and have only been tested because of the EPL.

It is more evidence that many people may have, or had, Covid-19 and not realised it.

That’s what I was thinking, if you’ve always got a rolling (albeit small percentage) of a subset of people that have got it, then given it’s been around for several months now then it suggests a lot have had it. Especially as the numbers should be a fraction of where they were at the peak in March.
