I genuinely believe we would only lose Doucoure & Pereyra if we went down. Deulofeu would have left, but doubt it now, not until Jan at least.

Sarr might leave, but I would expect that we would want to be doubling our money for him at least, and he hasn't had enough of a chance for people to pay that sort of money yet.

Wouldn't be the end of the world to see some more leave, with players like Quina, Pedro, Dele-Bashiru, Wilmot and potentially the likes of Cucho and Suarez coming in. These young talented players, with the experience of the likes of Deeney, Cathcart, Foster (Hopefully) I don't think we would struggle to field a strong side capable of winning the championship.

This. We would only be in real trouble if we failed to get promoted in 2020/21 imo.

Doucoure and Pereyra would go. Delefeo would as well under normal circumstances but with the injury not sure.

Sarr could go to a big club for BIG money.

Pereyra is probably a bit gutted he might have to hang around a bit longer.

According to the leaked report in the press the other day, the highest-paid player in the Championship is on 68k a week. We currently have Sarr, Deeney, Gray and Doucoure that are above that mark. We are not rich, no way will we only sell Doucs + Bobby if we were to go down.

Agree. All 4 would go and GD in Jan if he's fit.
New 5 year deal for Mariappa.

Again, Maricrappa has to go. Before the Coronavirus outbreak, l felt he had played his last game for Watford.
Pearson has seen enough of him.
The Brighton own goal summed it all up.
Great guy for the community, but a poor player on the pitch.

  11. LaClusazSki

    Not for nothing.
We paid a £5 million signing on bonus to him in compensation for a pay for play deal.
I understand it is £25k a week basic, £50k if he plays and £75 if he plays and scores.
So, not bad money for a player who has spent more time off the pitch than on it.

Well I suppose Pereyra won't be happy he had to stick around for an unlimited amount of time..

Also do we stll have Success here till 2023 or Gray on 70k?

"Maricrappa" will be the least of our problems.

Least he still wants to be here .. even our "new signing" doesn't want to be !

We shouldn't be in a hurry to get rid of strikers. Troy Deeney 32 next month isn't getting any younger.

True but we do need new ones !

    Maybe Pedro is the answer?

It will be an interesting dilemna. The subset of "Those who want to stay" and "Those we would like to stay" may be very very small.
If we do go down I quite like the idea of playing TD and a nippy striker (a "Vydra" if you will). Not sure Pedro will still be here. Success will still be here but won't get a game, being below the standard required for the champ and "unsellable". Probably Deeney & Gray upfront and they may score a few goals, .......or rather Gray might.

    My guess is that the team may look something like this;

    Bachmann
    ?, ?, Mariappa, ?
    ?, Hughes, ?, ?
    Deeney, Gray

The Athletic suggests Foster is likely to extend his contract for another two years if we stay up (Nice's Walter Benitez has been watched as a possible replacement). Gomes could be kept on again, with the deciding factor being how he feels physically & mentally.

Likewise Mariappa could also get a new one-year deal. Very much depends on whether the club feel we'll have enough cover without him, and whether we are able to sign a 'starting centre-back' which again will be a priority. Holebas is unlikely to be kept on whilst Wilmot is eager to return and be given the chance to impress.

Leventhal also understands Estupinan, along with Suarez and Cucho, will be brought into the squad for pre-season - whenever that will be. No major squad overhaul to happen, Doucoure the most likely to be sold out of the saleable assets we have.

Not many (if any) will now want to splash the cash on what we want for Doucoure .
    Nothing on selling Pereyra then?

Yes but I'm jesting that he's now so poor and uncommitted that his value has gone and we will give him away to get his salary off the books.

Nope. I'd imagine If Pereyra still wants a return to Italy, and with Walt no longer at Torino, he could go back to Udinese as De Paul's replacement.

It's done, we're going down and to be honest I can't say i'm devastated. Prem as a fan has mostly been ****.

    But who stays?

From the current lot: I'd only really want to keep Chalobah, Hughes, Sarr, Pedro, Capoue, Quina. Can we keep any of these? Geri, Doucoure, are assumed gone.

Loanees: Cucho, Suarez, Pervis, Wilmot would all be great at Championship level and arguably should have been here this year. Can we keep any?

Manager quite obviously has to change.

I think my contract is up. It’s been a good run and I’ve earned my testimonial, but I keep hearing about this Leads thing on the news and reckon that’s the place to be.

Basis for a decent side. The rest can **** off. No more past-it never weres. I'd rather be midtable Championship with a group of young players that care than in the PL with this mob.

Genuinely barely a player other than maybe Hughes, who is one of the only ones who's looked interested, and Deulofeu and Sarr who are both far too good and will be buzzing to get the f**k out of this **** show, and the youngsters who are wasting their careers here, that I'd choose to keep.

I despise the lot of them. None of them are fit to wear the shirt. Spineless mercenaries, most of which don't even have any redeeming qualities as footballers.

I'm certain everyone on that list except Wilmot won't be with us next season. They're the only players I'd keep and they'll all either choose to get out to go and play for proper clubs at a higher level (Sarr, Suarez, Cucho, Estupinan), or continue to be treated like s**t in favour of playing the likes of Andre f**king Gray (Pedro, Penaranda etc).

Disagree with the ones in Bold. Chalobah is half the player he was, and Quina couldn't give a crap - showed as much by breaking lockdown rules and making himself unavailable. Don't ever want to see him and Gray in the shirt again.
