Yes brilliant day and the video of the guys on the coach getting the Fulham vs Boro and Norwich scores, and realising they're promoted, is still on my sky planner. Whatever happened to that blonde striker ? Telepathic understanding with Deeney and a superb finish.
Watched this in a pub in Warrington chewing my nails all game! Once the final whistle went, they rest of the day fell into a drunken haze. The locals were happy for me.
I can only think of one better away game I’ve ever been to. Brighton has everything. Sunshine, winning, waiting for other results and finally a big party
Only a week then until the 5th anniversary of this: I always wonder what happened to the chump who wandered on and mobbed Gomes.
I remember that game very fondly. Brighton had us on the ropes just before Vydra got our second and settled us back down. Not a fantastic display by us, but we got the job done. Best part of the day was at 17.00 - when we got promoted. Norwich only drawing with Doncaster, Fulham losing to Notts Forest. At least three results had to go our way that afternoon. We did our work but our fate for once, out of our own hands, came up roses. IN JOKA WE TRUST
I was in the middle of the desert in Utah for this one. Found a stream at 4am on my phone and woke everyone up when Vydra scored. Got a text a bit later to tell me other results went our way. The small town of Moab learned who Watford were that night, I made sure of it!
We also went to Utah around then and spent some time in Moab, which we really liked. I fondly remember the burgers at The Spoke and the hot wings at the Moab Brewery.
Excellent! I love it there, an off-road paradise. Could be my favourite US state. Moab Brewery, fond memories of pool, nachos and steaks bigger than me. Made all the sweeter by promotion!
Was my brothers wedding as well so a fantastic day that. Watched the game getting ready, obviously I’d just seen the other results then a Fulham supporting mate started shouting “you’re up, you’re up” half way through the reception.
