Isn’t that the case for a lot of teams though? Sometimes pulling bad performances after good? It’s not exclusive to Watford.
We have had a poor season - but if that is being used as a reason to withhold earned contractual bonuses, then the club are on a dangerous footing. We aren’t a big club that players will want to play for regardless of treatment.

Unfortunately most of our players pretty much come with this warning sticker on them, but our owners ignore that, because of the way they recruit.

We, as a club, seem to prefer to have misfits who could and should be doing better, but lack the fortitude, application or commitment to do so. I'd prefer a team of Cleverleys to a team of Pereyras myself. The latter is capable of wonderful moments, but he has shown he can't be arsed for about 2 years now, and is pretty much a waste of a spot in the team whenever he plays. Overlooking 89 minutes of him hiding, not tracking back, not taking the ball forward because he did something nice with the ball for one moment, seems to be the approach of his fans.

If he was called Robert O’Pear and was from Republic of Ireland, the fan base would be largely against him by now.

Convinced Berghuis would have done far more in a yellow shirt than Pereyra has in a similar position.
That’s not me hating on Pereyra as he has a high profile which is good for the club and has never really had a big-time Charlie attitude which perhaps he might’ve given his background before coming to us.

But you can’t avoid just how frustrating it is when you know he’s capable of far more than he often shows.

We always seem to get caught up in this type of situation!

Wasn't a club in Spain going to report us too earlier in the season ?

Probably come back to bite us one day..

Or we will sell Sarr and pay them off then .

Sadly I believe it. We will wriggle out of any payments if we can find a financial or legal loophole. No surprise that we're sponsored by a tax-haven-based cryptocurrency betting company.

Rich people simply hate paying what they owe.

I didn’t realise it was on the buying club to sort all this nonsense out. What an administrative nightmare. Surely FIFA could run the whole thing and act as intermediary?

Urgh this is not a good look for the club at all......last thing we need is a transfer ban and I’m hardly in a position now to criticise Cardiff city over the sala affair anymore!

We are incompetent from the top down. Numerous financial mess ups. Embarrassing.

Pozzo is one of the most tinpot owners in the league financially so that’s hardly fair on the other owners.

Out of our £163m of debt the Pozzo's have lent £4.4m. Now compare that with what other owners have lent their clubs-BMuff and BHA as examples and you make a fair point. Given they paid next to nothing for the club in 2012 they have only that loan at risk.

As i have a bit of time on my hands and sadly i like researching company accounts i have always been intrigued what our "other expenses" are. They are not wages nor amortisation of players contracts nor Pozzo disclosed remuneration yet at £38m last season its a huge figure.

When looking at what we have spent in total on this over the last 3 years and comparing to others of our size in terms of transfer spend/attendances and being in PL for the same time, to try and get comparisons, its even more intriguing, as ours is £98m

    BMuff -£73m
    Burnley-£43m
    C Pal-£63m

I wonder what is in this as no breakdown is ever provided-that goes for all these clubs as well-agents fees you ask-well in FY18 we paid out £13m (more than Everton and Arsenal!) and last year another £11m (same as BMuff). We paid £6m in FY17 so that still leaves nearly £70m spent on what. I do not know.

What about the ground works ?
Do these come into the equation or is that a seperate account?

Good point, Spending on the ground and London Colney was £7m but doesn’t pass through the P&l account however the depreciation charge of £4m on these assets does so there’s £4m of the £38m last year

Is it also things like paying for police, non playing staff in there as well? General operating bits and bobs. Presumably the Zuniga embarrassment was some kind of extraordinary expense rather than going though players?

Doesn’t explain why we are so much higher than comparable clubs though.

The accounts show £1.2m paid in FY 17 for presumably Mazarin and his team but nothing for FY18 nor FY19 as we paid nil to fire the snake - indeed got £4.5m in. The cost of firing Gracia and QSF will be in this season

Other legal cases well who knows

Non playing staff are in the wages cost as well as Duxbury pay. Police yes they will be in there albeit my sense is there are less police generally bar certain games buts it’s a cost in there so that’s a little more identified

As you say there will be other operating costs but £12m per season higher than say Palace with comparable ground issues and capacity/ attendance is hard to fathom

So in summary, there's £34m on the accounts that aren't wages, transfers or overheads and just 'is'?

    Lol.
