Coronavirus Werewolf Day 4

After Squibba's execution had been performed, everyone hurriedly left for their houses, however Miked2006 prepared the cannon for the next day, "Cannonball. Check. Gunpowder. Check. Matches. Check."
Noticing that it had got a bit darker, Miked ran home as fast as he could but just as his home was in sight, he tripped and clattered on to the pavement. "Whoops-a-daisy", said a diabolical voice. Mike rolled round to see a wolf standing over him, the wolf held a paw up high so the claws glistened in the moonlight, the wolf laughed and then with an almighty force the paw came down but at the last second the paw was sliced off by a silver sword. "Begone wolf!", shouted the Guardian.

The wolf smarting in pain headed home. The wolf entered his house and staggered in. Exhausted, the wolf went into the living room and there was standing another wolf, "A companion!" He exclaimed.
The intruder wolf came forward with open arms and the injured wolf went to greet, but the intruder saw the injury, "You fool, you are infected with silver, you must die!" A thrash of claw ripped through his jugular, black blood gushed out and the wolf fell and once down he transformed into his human self.

So there were two wolves, and one of them did appear to be hiding - steve?!

And had we concluded that by yesterday the two wolves definitely already knew each other's identities? It would actually make sense as it appears the second wolf knew whose house to hide in last night.

Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but does this mean the Guardian has somehow managed to pick a correct person to save on every night so far? Seems pretty crazy odds (or luck, or skill) if so.

 

Still not me but I'm probably wasting my breath! Especially when I said feel free to lynch me if there's 2 kills. Idiot. Haha.

With the odds so much against evil, otter may have used a full moon scenario. The seer and evil will know I'm good but the latter will be keen to start or encourage a campaign against me. Remember who that is when I'm dead and declared good.

What I would say though is that if I was a wolf and said there would be only 1 kill, why would I then go out trying to kill someone that same night knowing it would rebound on me...?

My theory is the last wolf went to kill Mike, the guardian was there and so Otter put a plan in place to have the wolf stumble home and be finished off by a new wolf. Otter has to keep us all from going mad this week. Think of him as our Rimmer... Sorry Otter

Thanks Guardian! Team Good have had a lot of luck so far - first game ever where they've killed more Evil than we have?

It's amazing that my two main suspects for wolf on day 2 (Going Down and Opti) were both evil.

Initial thoughts
- I'd like the gunslinger to confirm that he didn't shoot Opti, even though the use of the terms "silver sword" and "infected with silver" suggests otherwise
- If not, there are two options:
1. There were two wolves. Opti tried to kill me and the second wolf chose to kill opti
2. There's some strange unexplained role that Otter has created.

 

Don't forget this line from Otter last night:

As the villagers left the scene they could see that on the west horizon the Sun was setting but on the east a full moon was rising.

Is there a full moon mechanic that has been used in previous games?

 

As a recap (mostly for myself):

Diamond was killed at the end of day 1. We know that he was a wolf, as he killed the virus carrier.

Opti was a wolf as he was killed last night after visiting me.

GD was lynched and was Evil. I'm now starting to think that he may have been the traitor, given there is still a wolf left alive.

 

One of the wolves was hiding though - you could have been the hiding wolf.

There have been full moons before. And annoyingly it means even people viewed as good previously can't be trusted now.

The aim for team Evil is to kill the players from team Good.

Why would a wolf give up their main mechanism of removing a Good player, to stay alive another day? It doesn't make sense.

 

Last night there were 2 wolves - one went out to kill, but the second hid in the house of the first wolf.

 

I didn't shoot Opti but I'm kicking myself because on day 2 I had Opti in my sights and allowed myself to be swayed. (Day 2 post #46) - should have stuck to my instincts.

Opti was pushing GD as a wolf, clearly not knowing he was also evil at the time.

Also, a sword slash would have infected the wolf with silver, so surely a silver bullet would have the same effect?

 

People had seemed to have already concluded yesterday that if there were 2 wolves remaining, then 1 of them is likely steve.

Therefore, if steve was indeed 1 of the wolves and still went for a kill it would have ultimately backfired anyway, as even if he'd killed a good villager then he'd have been a certainty to be lynched the next day.

Therefore, the only potential way of diverting attention from themselves would have been to hide last night and hope that something else happened during the night and/or the next day which subsequently meant people started looking elsewhere again, meaning it would eventually be less risky to start killing again without attracting immediate suspicion.

Unfortunately for steve this alternative plan also backfired, as the first wolf returned home injured and had to be killed.

Super way to start today seeing Opti die.
Excellent that we all made it through the night again and another evil is gone, let's see if we can get another.

On day one I decided to view horace_goes_up_north and I confirmed he is good.
On day two I decided to view steve harrow and I confirmed he is good.
Yesterday I decided to view happyhornet24 and I can confirm she is good.
Today I decided to view grrwood and I can confirm he is evil.

As expected, the wolf's message is now trying to mimic mine. However, there are clues within my now three messages that link them together.

Remember, unless necessary, do not give away all the clues. We have done well so far at knowing which message is the seer's.

Let's work together to find these clues.

Some further good fortune whilst we were asleep.
Exceptional defending from our Guardian last night and we are still in an excellent position.

Monday I decided to view horace_goes_up_north and I confirmed he is good.
Tuesday I decided to view steve harrow and I confirmed he is good.
Yesterday I decided to view happyhornet24 and I confirmed she is evil.
Today I decided to view wfcmoog and I can confirm he is good.

Let's secure our dominant position by confronting happyhornet24 tonight.

 

Well those are interesting messages. The seer knows and has again confirmed that I'm good, subject to what I say below.

It seems to me that one of Grrwood or Happy must be evil? Or a tinker.

As explained, my role is good but the wolf seems me as evil. Therefore the only way I can be killed is by being lynched.

Because I know I'm good, I am more convinced than ever about the full moon scenario. Otter is a clever chap (and not at all Rimmer like...) and he's mentioned the full moon in his last post of yesterday very deliberately. Someone was turned evil last night and that means folk named good previously - myself and Horace - are no longer guaranteed good by the messages.

Would seem unlikely wouldn't it? I guess not impossible but that would be overly confusing. The new wolf is more likely to have been a simple villager.

The full moon in the past has always changed the role of a villager. It is unlikely it would change someone who already has a role.

 

My gut instinct is that the first message is from the seer. The seer often leaves clues in their message and they are the person who generally benefits most from drawing attention to the message itself.

We know that one of Grrwood or HH24 is evil. Whoever we go for today, if they are good we have to (irrespective of tomorrow's messages) vote for the other tomorrow.

 

Well this isn't ideal... I know I am good so either HH24 is evil or one of us is a tinker.

If the full moon indicated a new wolf I agree that we now cannot rule out Horace or Steve unfortunately, however this probably shouldn't be the immediate concern.

Yesterday I was leaning towards message 2 being from the seer, but with the other message naming me today I am obviously going to have to look at voting for HH24 unless something interesting happens today.

 

If a full moon is called I may or may not get an additional bullet, but I'll be informed either way.

As far as I'm concerned a full moon is not in play.

 

Notwithstanding the possibility that one could be a tinker, but we have to ignore that possibility as by probability, it's more likely to lead us up the right path.

I am more inclined to believe that Grrwood is evil, based on gameplay and that I felt the message naming HH as evil yesterday was from a wolf.

I've only skim read today's thread so far, as in on a 3 hour conference call, but I'm tempted to go for GRrrwood so far.

 

Yes. I know who I'd like to use it on.

 

In fact, I'm going to exercise my vote now after seeing a recent post.

I have no doubts.
