Went to my wedding venue and then Hook Norton Brewery. Quite an enjoyable day actually.

Just had £50 worth of board games delivered by amazon. Got a meeting at our wedding venue which may or may not end up being a write off next weekend. It’s a good job I get on really well with my other half because I’ve got a couple of exes who would already be doing my nut in.

If it was the other way round I’d be slightly worried for your marriage prospects.

Edit: And more info needed on which board games you’ve gone for please.

I recently did a road trip from Darwin to Melbourne. The NT is an incredible place, the Devil’s Marbles being the main highlight. One of the best places iv ever been to.

At least I was able to take rugby training this morning, hopefully I will be able to do the same next week.

Aye, August with a honeymoon to Italy immediately after. I think the wedding will be safe although with maybe a few older relatives unable to attend if they’re isolating which, if I’m being cold, saves us £70 a head. The honeymoon we booked using Airbnb so we can get that refunded, we’ll probably lose out on some cheap flights if we can’t go but that’s no great tragedy.

I’ve read loads about people farting on about what they make of the situation. To stay in or not to stay in? Well my other half is a teacher so she’s going to be ‘working from home’ soon and I work in a fairly self contained environment. When it comes to the weekends I literally can’t think of anything better than drinking wine, playing board games and getting two player crash bandicoot going on the PlayStation with not a single germ spreading stranger in sight. I could keep this up for year let alone a few weekends.

Are you getting married this year then?

We were starting from a low bar of having no board games in the house, what with us being easily distracted millennials with no appreciation for the simpler pleasures in life.

The winners tonight are Yahtzee, Rummy with a deck of cards, Scrabble and ‘The Best of TV & Movies’ which is an enjoyable snakes & ladders style board game/quiz.

I made a cracking risotto with roasted Squash and Beetroot. Bright pink it was with grilled asparagus on top. Glad I can cook when you’d have to physically wrestle Dorothy for the last tin of beans in the local Sainsbury’s.

I like your choice of board games better than your choice of risotto, not being a fan of beetroot (although you made up for it somewhat with the grilled asparagus).
The board game I remember enjoying as a youngster, and then playing on the PlayStation when I was v heavily pregnant with my first child and so not going out so much, is Risk. Might dig it out again when we’re barricaded in our homes.

I can’t remember why exactly but my other half had a flashback to being forced to play risk on holidays to Cornwall, she looked quite troubled by the thought!

Ive got a really good root veg recipe which works especially well with beets. Hasselback your root veg; parsnips, beetroot, carrots, floury potatoes, mash up garlic and thyme with olive oil in a pestle and mortar and give the veg a good toss in the oil and into a roasting tin, 180 in the oven for about an hour, occasionally removing it to shake it around. I guarantee this will change your mind on beetroot. Caramelised on the outside with really savoury crispy bits where you’ve hasselbacked it. Glorious with a roast or on its own with a glass of red!

Asparagus though.... I’m panic buying some of that after work tomorrow.

Unfortunately the brewery is just too small, however the wedding venue will have some of their beers on tap.

Ah mate, hopefully everything has cleared up by August! Shame about the honeymoon.

I'm getting married in July with the honeymoon meant to be a few days after but we have decided to cancel it for now.

    Good luck with everything!

I’m staying chill about it but then I’m not the one that’s spent nearly three years planning the thing!

    Damn that is some drive!
Did it back in the early 90's. In a beaten up Ford falcon. Alice Springs was a mad place. 25c and they said it was to cold for the open air swimming pool to be open.

This virus may be the chance I need to take the wrapping off of my Isle of Wight Monopoly set. The kids have been delaying it at every opportunity and leaning towards cluedo, now the power has shifted.

Whats the venue? I live round that way (near hook norton) and used to work in the wedding industry.

Monopoly is a far superior game to Cluedo.

In fact, unpopular opinion; I don’t like Cluedo. There I said it.

I spent £50.00 getting my hair cut and styled at "Luminate" (the one in Parade High Street). Think the girl who cut my hair was hitting on me.

    OMG you guys! Lol.

Yeah was pretty good looking, redhead, green eyes. As part of the LGBT community I didn't mind the flirting, but I am in a happy relationship.
Sort of played along a bit, but did not lead her on to anything. Very chatty, as most barbers are nowadays.

I think the consensus on the forum is that you need to ditch your partner and give this girl a chance. At least that's what I'll be telling her when she cuts my hair at the hastily arranged 3pm cut and blow...

    dry.

If I was not attached I would of taken it further, but she seems nice. I would advise leading with the "C&D" before you get the "B" if you get my meaning. ;)

Backgammon (and a "Dummies Guide to Backgammon..." if you don't know how to play). During our two weeks of self isolation, at 10p a point, I've ended up £18 in debt to my son.
