What the hell are we doing with the weekend now there's no sport on?

If its months I'm not sure I can cope with 48 hours with the family every weekend...

Yeah. Hasn’t gone well so far. I came downstairs at 10am, ate breakfast. Read a book for a while but I then started drinking at 1230 as I couldn’t think of anything else to do.

I know. The whole day spent just surfing the net and posting on this poxy forum. There must be some way to differentiate the weekend from a normal working day.....I know, I'll go and cut the grass.

Things are even more bizarre here (in Ireland). All sporting activity (kids and adults) has been suspended. For the last 20 years or so, weekends have been completely chaotic getting kids to GAA, soccer (that’s what we call it here), rugby etc. It is just eerie. Two adult kids home from university plus two teenagers hanging around, with no sport to watch or attend. Pubs and restaurants still open, but likely to be closed or restricted from Monday. Listening to sports radio is hilarious, at the moment, trying to fill air time, and this is just the first weekend! Strange times.

I just watched the Indian Super League final between ATK and Chennai. Now contemplating subscribing to Russian Premier League on YouTube for $5 a month.

    Dark days.

Might buy myself a games console for when I get bored.? Never had one, what's currently hip?

    I cut the grass.

    And cut it again.

This could be a long few weeks, maybe months.

Probably the worst time to buy a current gen console as the next gen ones are due out at Christmas.

But PS4 if you have to. Obviously.

Assuming the virus doesn't mutate into deadlier, more virulent strains which make mortality rates soar and annihilate huge swathes of the population.

    It's entirely possible.

If that happened, I'd emigrate to Australia. No one ever goes there, so I'm confident I'd be safe.

I am going to be bunged up for weeks now. Normally I can just about take the summer months, but this is going to be harrowing.

The Mrs told me to go the supermarket to buy toilet roll, hand sanitiser and tinned tomatoes. Came back with 12 bottles of wine and 24 beers. Should keep me going until sunday

No, in 9 months they’ll be overflowing with tinned crap and toilet roll.

Ah okay, I wondered if you were rather alluding to the possibility of them all subsequently being emptied by the large swathes of newly unemployed.

Foodbanks have been swelled by donations from events who had provided catering already but had to cancel the whole thing.

I ended up watching Celebrity Netball. It was beyond awful in a way I can't put into words. Got no idea what was going on, it seemed to have very over officious referees, the crowd booed someone getting genuinely injured and I appear to have a thing for Oti Mabusi.

I cleaned the house, including toilets and bathrooms. Then I sat and listened to my son talk me through his 200+ Pokémon cards.

I don't want to live anymore.

I recommend the Northern Territory for a place nobody goes. You might even find yourself a nice girlfriend.

I'm watching the recording of the Watford Liverpool game from the other week and pretending I don't know what happened.

Half time 0-0. Deeney somehow missed the fat ****. Get him off NOW. He won't do anything in the second half.

    Sarr disappointing.

I was going there Wednesday for two weeks, now Australian government saying entrants have to self isolate for 14 days. Messed my holiday up, booked accommodation, internal flight. everything.
Booked early December before this virus got released from the germ warfare lab at Wutan. (Yes there is one).
Booked to miss only Burnley away, and coincide with the international break.

Picked up my aged folks brought them back to mine cooked them lunch (Slow cooked roast lamb) then took them home again.

Both extremely high risk and likely to be holed up for months going forwards. Managed to have a poo at theirs when I got there and a wee when I dropped them, off later. I think there's a net gain in loo roll vs petrol used.
