This is my thinking. I believe the season will be completed somehow but, if it is not, I can't see any teams being relegated.

As a rule of thumb, it is easier to refuse entry into an organisation, without giving a reason, than it is to expel a member when no infringement of any rule has been made.

As the EPL is a different organisations to the EFL, refusing entry to the club's promoted, imo, would be far more justifiable than it would be to "kick out" existing members.

Either would, I'm sure, be open to legal challenge though.

Wouldn't happen. Deeney would eat the sheep's bladder.

This is why I think they could get away with it if it's Watford, Bournemouth and Norwich who go down. As we're insignificant in the grand scheme of things and the shock waves would be like throwing a pebble into a lake. This is why it's important Villa stay in the bottom three as they have more power as a club. West Ham also, although they are above us so wouldn't be affected.

I don’t actually think you believe this. All this conspiracy theory stuff is a bit mad.

Epstein didn’t kill himself and they’d end the season now if Watford were in the bottom three.

Well the engineers and scientists that tested the model for the Twin Towers showed that it could and did and caused the collapse. It's well worth watching the BBC series disproving the conspiracy nutcases. The Conspiracy Files.

  12. Jet fuel didn't melt the beams it softened them. The difference is about 800 degrees c give or take.

The right thing to do. There are players who are suffering and gathering 20+'000 people together who are shouting, screaming, singing, in an close area isn't sensible.

There's a meeting on Thursday to make plans for the rest of the season. I guess this season will be phased out with no relegation and next season start with 2 promoted from the championship and a 22 season with 4 relegation for a couple of years

As many have said, there doesn't seem to be a perfect solution. However to fail to relegate, because the season hadn't finished, but go ahead and promote WBA and Leeds when their season hadn't finished, seems very inconsistent. Fulham were 6 pts behind with 9 games to go and WBA had drawn and lost their last 2 - entirely possible they would have been caught.

Alternatively they keep playing games behind closed doors until we fall into the bottom three and then stop the season.

This could even in the 59th minute of any game, when they could simply abandon the game to make sure that we are relegated.

    Quite possible.

You can see this becoming very legal in the coming months. Those who could have avoided relegation, those who could have been promoted.

Exactly. Everyone just stays in the league they are in next season and start again. Average out the TV money that is due for the games that were due to be televised for the rest of this season and pass it down the pyramid in solidarity starting from the bottom up to help keep clubs afloat.

Yes certain clubs will feel aggrieved but in the grand scheme of things, it’s exactly what should happen. Tough luck. And I would say exactly the same were Watford in their positions.

As I’ve said, it doesn’t sit well with me at all if clubs are rewarded for things they haven’t achieved.

Just last month there was a thread when Man City were found guilty by UEFA with a tongue in cheek suggestion that we should be awarded the FA Cup - and we were unanimous that it was a ludicrous idea. Well so would be giving the title to Liverpool, or promoting clubs that haven’t achieved it. Void everything apart from the Community Shield and League Cup as they were played to a conclusion and had defined winners.

I think I agree with the potential legal aspect , it’s not so much that they have a reasonable argument it’s more the money involved, what’s a PL place worth (with advertising) £100m a year ?

The heat from the jet fuel fires caused the steel joists to deform to such a degree that they came off of the shelf angles attached to the core that they were resting on.

This happened on a couple of floors. When these floor collapsed they added greater loads on the floors below which in turn created the domino affect of floor failures down the building. The lower floors failing due to the sheer weight imposed on them and not from heat or fuel.

Timber beams (in sufficiently large enough sectional area) perform better in fires than steel beams.

    just thought I’d add that.

it’s going to be a long month with no football........

  29. The heat softened the steel - increased it's ductility. The load of the building caused the deformation. There was no melting involved.

They don't have much in the way of grounds. Had the season ended, Leeds, West Brom and the playoff winners would have a case. If the EFL and EPL agree to void the season, which is completely within their remit, there's absolutely nothing Leeds could do about it.

Some lawyer would make a lot of money out of it but Leeds/WBA wouldn't have a leg to stand on and they know it. Otherwise you'd have had comment about it already.

It's a members club. The EPL could vote to allow Leeds and West Brom into their league (as has been said about Rangers and Celtic in the past), pretty sure it would require a unanimous vote though, without the season ending. I'd be shocked if the smaller EPL clubs would want that.

But make no mistake, the EPL hierarchy have desperately wanted Leeds back in there for years, they bring a hell of a lot of money and exposure so don't be surprised if they at least make the cut.

Yes. But that’s not promised to them. They aren’t entitled to it if they haven’t won anything? I can’t see how any court in the land would think they would have a case. I’d be surprised if a lawyer even looked at the case to be honest. If they had mathematically achieved promotion then maybe but they haven’t.

I know where you are coming from and guess it ultimately comes down the terms and conditions of the competition. I would actually be quite surprised if they didn’t have a business continuity plan detailing what to do in the event of a season ending calamity.

Okay to me it still seems very strange how they collapsed within their own footprint.
Moving on swiftly to World trade centre 7. What the flying **** happened there then? Still collapsed within it's own footprint. I like a good CT but nobody has explained properly why this happened to WTC 7.
