The revolving restaurant at the top of the golf ball on a spike is the worst food I've ever had. The chef seemed to think it was still communist times.

Obviously you've never eaten my Mrs food. Or any part of her.

    I live there.

Any types of things you're looking for?

A couple of the better touristy-ish things the top of my head:

    - Breakfast (or lunch if feeling more extravagant) at the restaurant on the roof of the Bundestag (Kaefer). Not cheap, but good German fare, attractive modern building, and good views of the city. You need to book at least 48 hours in advance and take your passport:
    https://www.feinkost-kaefer.de/berlin

    - A glance at Tempelhofer Feld, the former airport that's currently a huge park. Not much to do when there other than walk around a bit, but it's truly unique and may not be around for much longer if developers eventually get their way.

I will try out a nice breakfast there. If it's recommended.
My Mrs wants to pay a visit to Sachsenhausen. Then obviously take in the historical sites of Berlin. Either a walking tour or hop on hop off bus, all dependant on my hangover. I'm a Bowie freak so wouldn't mind a little pilgrimage. There is a tour but it's quite expensive I believe so may do it alone. Heard there's quite a lot of comedy in English? Any tips there. A few decent pubs is always good to know? Also a good restaurant that's not going to cost an arm or leg at?
    Thanks for any info.

    Yes it is recommended.

For the standard historical sites of Berlin e.g. Brandenburger Tor, Checkpoint Charlie, Alexanderplatz and East Side Gallery there's little need to dwell too long on them. Doing your Bowie pilgrimage might give you a bit more of a real feel for the city away from places more typically crowded with tourists.

For an inexpensive, traditional restaurant 'Max und Moritz' on Oranienstrasse is good, and in a relatively historic building. 'Metzer Eck' on Metzerstrasse is another good option for inexpensive, traditional food, which is in more of an old-fashioned pub than a restaurant.

For a restaurant a bit more contemporary, mid-range+, or differing in style I'd be a bit less comfortable trying to recommend something without a bit more guidance as to preferences/budget etc.

As for other pubs, roughly which location will you be staying in? Could be handy to narrow it down a bit.

There is a fair amount of English comedy here, but I've not seen enough of it to give any pointers on that I'm afraid.

Have you been before ? There are some great coastal walks, dunes, marshland etc. Exceptional if you like wildlife/birds. We'll be up there for a weekend in early March.

Yeah we’ve been with friends a couple of times, they’ve got a family place in Holme up the coast from Hunstanton. Nice, quiet dog friendly beach and a nature reserve but that’s the only bit of the coast I know. They don’t really deviate from the same few places though so we don’t know the area that well yet and we’re going on our own this time.

Visit the RNLI museum there as well.
Some bloody good golf courses & pubs there.

Yeah we often do the walk along the dunes from Holme to Thornham harbour.
Theres a good coastal walk along coast at burnham overy staithe, and also out on the massive beach at Holkham.
The other thing is to get a boat trip out to see the seals at Blakeney. Boat trips go from Morston quay - great as long as the weather is ok !!! We use this company and have been a few times now. https://www.beansboattrips.co.uk/

Swear I saw George Osbourne in Thornham Deli once.

I do stick out a bit with a hankey on my head and a can of bitter on the beach but I enjoy my visits there.

...is probably the greatest pastime known to man (money's placed in a pot with winnings for the first crab, the biggest crab and the most crabs) but:
    1. You will not catch anything on a hook on a crab line - get one with a drop net and tie the bait to the base of the net.
    2. Ask in a local fishmonger for crab bait (squid is our bait of choice as the crabs can't easily pull it pieces or bacon is an acceptable alternative).

So I’m supposed to ask my good lady fiancée if she wants to go down Cromer pier and catch crabs? I’ll get a slap.

I’ll put in a word for the RSPB reserve at Titchwell Marsh. It has a good mixture of habitats, including fresh and saltwater marshes and you can walk right out to the beach. Bound to be plenty to see if you like your birds. Easy parking, toilets and there’s a cafe too.

Wells has a lovely beach, quite different at high and low tide. Walk along the beach to Holkham and back through the woods, or vice versa. Visit Holkham Hall if you're minded.

Great Walsingham is an interesting medieval planned town.with a variety of shrines of various brands of Christianity.

There's lots to see in Norwich, and not just on Saturday afternoons. ("The best bottom-of-the-league team I've ever seen" - Danny Murphy).

So, STA Travel have gone under.

My partner and I were originally due to be travelling to Thailand in July (booked before covid became a big deal obviously). When our balance payment was due, we told STA Travel we wouldn't be risking paying it in case it fell through. They said no problem, they could hold on to our deposit for a similar trip next summer. (£200 each).

Now that it has gone under, is there any way we can get the money back? We didn't pay by credit card so that avenue isn't open.

The original trip was ATOL protected but no idea how that works in terms of the trip being cancelled and them just having our deposit.

Last option is possibly trying to claim off travel insurance?

Did you pay by debit card? First suggestion would be to try a charge back via your bank. Works for Visa or MasterCard debit cards.
