This is massive, in fact I've heard a rumour that there are more points available for this game than any other game in the history of the Premier League. A real 19 pointer
    Will Sarr be back?
    Is anybody confident?
Will the forum be full of Bed Wetters, Happy Clappers, Apologists after the game or will we all be basking in a huge win for Watford that takes us out of the relegation zone. God I hope it's the final option otherwise I fear we are deep in the brown stuff

What can we expect from Brighton?
My favourite away trip of the season. Nice pier full of arcade games and massively overpriced fish and chip shops, sweet shops and the odd souvenir shops as well. Plenty of nice pubs in and around the town that both sets of fans can use. The Lanes shopping area that the wife can go to while you're at the football. A decent set of fans, never any trouble. An hour wait for a train or a bus after the game unless you leave early. A decent record having lost only once since 2005 and the scene of one my favourite away days ever.

The best selection of pies at any ground in the country

The team. Potter was getting rave reviews earlier in the season which culminated in him receiving something ridiculous like a 6 year contract. Since then it's been pretty much a downward curve and although they are playing better football this year they have less points that at the same stage last season. They seem to have broken up the very good central defensive partnership from the last year or two and are now certainly not as tight at the back as they have been in the past. Lewis Dunk is still there but is now partnered by Adam Webster who was bought for £20m from Bristol City in the summer.
Glen Murray was back in the goals on Saturday at West Ham and despite being 108 years old he is still a threat. In the middle of the park is for me the bargain of the transfer window. Aaron Mooy who cost just £5m from Huddersfield. Certainly the stand out performer for Huddersfield last season and looks excellent every time I see him

    Us
Just as you felt we were on the road to recovery we have lost the last two games conceding 4 of the 5 goals in injury time that has seen us back in the bottom 3 and in real danger.
I very much suspect Sarr won't be risked as we then have a 2 week break but god we miss him. Still no sign of Femenia or Janmaat so probably means the worst right back in the Premier League will keep his place. Not sure there will be any other changes although if fit I would be tempted to play Dawson instead of Cathcart who was rubbish against Everton.
With United and Liverpool in the next two games you do feel as though we desperately need to win this or we will get cut adrift
Safe journey for all those travelling to the game. COYGB

    Must win game.
You say 19 pointer, but I believe the defeat on Saturday means this is now a certified 23 pointer. At least.
How different this season could have been if we'd take that first game of the season more seriously, and also had a bit of luck (11 shots to their 5, both sides with 3 on target).
Please god can Sarr be fit. Away from home his pace is even more vital than at home.
    2-0 to BHA.

I hate us having late day kick off. If we know others have won it puts pressure on us even more. Although if the players do their jobs it shouldn't matter.

Can we defend a 1 or 2 goal lead? Going by recent results no. The manner of loses has been embarassing of late. Players who had looked confident with performances littered with errors. Can we please bin Success and bring Pedro on if needs be? I don't want Gray anywhere near the carpark let alone the ground.

It is a must win. A bit like muff was, but looked how we cocked that up afterwards. Brighton maybe low down, but they can score good goals. Tough game, very tough.

Forgot to mention I will be off the grid in remote Tanzania for 3 days from Saturday. No electricity, no WIFI, no mobile signal, so won't get the result until Tuesday pm when we reach our second camp. Probably for the best ?

I think this is almost a futile match now. If we lose, and considering the following two fixtures at United and home to Liverpool, we will probably be cut adrift. We'd probably be in a similar position to where we were before Pearson arrived.

We'd have to start all over again, getting 5 wins and a couple of draws from the remaining 10 games. Games which will include City and Leicester at home as well as Arsenal and Chelsea away. It would be a massive task to win the games we need to. We're not consistent enough to do this. The last two games have proved how vulnerable we still are. Two collapses in the last two games under Pearson's watch. It made throwing the Tranmere game a complete waste of time as well.

We can still navigate our way out of it, but we've used up all our f*** ups for the entire season. It would be a major surprise to me if we stayed up now. But while it's still mathematical there is always hope, however unrealistic it is.

  8. There's only 1 other game that day - Everton v palace at 12.30. Only 4 games all weekend.

So we are the first to play out of the relegation lot this week.

I'm going up to Scotland to watch England chase the egg shaped ball around and be wined and dined, proper prawn sandwich brigade stuff. Both kick offs are more or less the same time I think, probably better for my health to watch England lose the rugby rather than watch Brighton stick another nail in this weekend.

There will be no karzi get out of jail free card this weekend I'm afraid.

I can't think of another game right now I'd like to watch less. BT sport must be trying desperately to cancel the contract.

1-0 by Handball in the 93rd minute. I red card (Likely Holebas) and 1 long term injury.

In fact can't Gino just forfeit and let us have our weekend back?

Our performances at their place have been very poor recently, and we've failed to score against them in four of our last five encounters, not even getting a shot on target in two of them. And they've only lost three at home.

That said, they've won just one game in ten, but we can't trust this team to keep a clean sheet any more, so we'll need to score at least two to win. I feel this is last chance saloon as we have to start winning away games (still only two this season) to stay up, and on paper this is our easiest/least hard away fixture left after West Ham. Hopefully the home team will be affected by the pressure having failed to win any of their last three games vs teams around them.

An unconvincing and fortuitous 2-1 to us after we go 2-0 up and Brighton pull one back in the 80th minute from another error from a set-piece to leave us hanging on.

  16. Ha - I was gonna say yes but thought I'd have a quick look at the form table before I made an ass of myself and see them sitting rock bottom of it!

I'll admit I've not been following the results of anyone above Brighton so didn't even considered them in danger but looking at the table, they have a good 6 point safety net but are by no means safe if their form continues!

We're probably going to get stuffed. Sarr won't be back, so there'll be a stench of pessimism and half-arsedness emanating from our starting XI that'll only get worse when the only players causing any threat whatsoever are hauled off for some useless wancker like Bailey's Boy.

I see one hope for this game: Make it into a brutal, unsightly scrap. Demand total ugliness from every Watford player. Grim, relentless, route one monotony. I'm thinking Pulis style disciplined but cruel barbarianism, rather than Flores' limp-wristed brand of chickenshit defensive cowardice. Replace pansies like Del and Pereyra with Hughes and Holebas. Play a 4-4-1-1 with Troy playing behind Always-Unwellbeck. Play 'Pantera - Suicide Note Pt 2' REALLY LOUD in the dressing room just before the players leave, and insist they behave like Gavin Mahon, Henderson et al did before the Leeds play off final when they walk out through the tunnel alongside Brighton's players. Intimidate the opposition. Make them feel half beaten before a ball has been kicked. Be aggressive and take every advantage. We can do this.

My prediction: Brighton 3 Watford 0.

We'll probably get something out of this, simply so that hopes are raised again, only to have them smashed in subsequent games.

We should have had at least 2 points from the last 2 games and have none, thrown away in the most soul destroying way possible.

It's like Jeremy Beadle is going to pop up from beyond the grave and tell us it was all a wind up.

Watford must be one of the most frustrating sides to support. We're not continually sh1t like a Sunderland or Bolton. We're not a side that wins every week like Liverpool or a club that wins cups like City.

We are a side who is quite good to a point, gets so close to achieving something, then it all spectacularly collapses. This is Watford's identity. We love the drama of spectacular failure. We've always been like this ever since I've supported the club.

Conceding last minute goals, throwing away good leads, choking in big moments. There are so many examples of where it's gone wrong without reason. It happens to us more than any other club I can think of.

The first one comes off his left arm, his second comes off his right arm, the third one is offside and the fourth is a ghost goal. That should just about cover it.

Who knows , but not sure I can watch anymore after the last two games, it’s not good for my anger issues.

on the bright side I think most championship games are now streamed so if we do go down I’ll still be able to watch

hope Sarr is back, thought Pereya had a go against Everton but Sarr’s speed gives us so much more. If he is anywhere near fit we need to risk him, if we loose this it could be game over, having said that the difference between us and top half is only 7 points.

They've not been very good lately, but with Dunk, Webster and maybe Murray they'll still give us problems from set-pieces. The only relief is that Dan Burn is out injured for them.

The 2000/01 collapse sums it up and that was shortly after I became a fan - I hope you'll forgive me for thinking towards the end of that season "Did I pick the right club?".

You forgot to include: ending teams' bad runs in any form you care to mention, and conceding a goal from a player who hasn't scored for over a year.

Sorry to disappoint but I have a very good feeling about this game which we will win.

The optimism on here will be palpable, only for us to then go on a miserable run bringing us all down to a level of misery and feeling of impending doom that the 3 of you can happily exploit.

Have patience, your time will come..
